I have a problem with the native sense people/sms app. I have two contacts both having similar numbers i.e. one is +9198XXXXXXXX and other is +9199XXXXXXXX
HTC app does not differentiate between the two. Thus if I receive a call or message from one it shows under the name of the other. In case of messages app even the received from number shows as that of the other contact!!!
You can imagine the problems I am having when having to communicate with these two people. I even tried a third party message app like Go SMS but since the contacts are linked at the contacts app level Go does not distinguish between them.
Can anyone help please.
Hey I am having the same problem. I have my father No. +966505xxxxxxx and my brother has +966555xxxxxxx. The Sense is unable to differentiate the two and when my father calls me, it shows me my brother name... Using Stock ROM...
Have you checked to see if the contacts are linked? In the contacts app go to menu> more> linked contacts

No they are not linked...
I had this problem in old Nokia phones.
My iPhone identified the two contacts.
But sensation cannot identify the contacts as 2 different ones.
Not linked. Dont have this problem on the Samsung Galaxy S II. So I think its an HTC issue

i'm having trouble with the xiaomi 4 contact list, as you can see i'm having issues with my contact list somehow all my contact list is still there but now showing their number only the whatsapp / wechat details. the phone number is shown only when i klik the whatsapp icon there and cannot make a direct phone call as it will lead me to the whatsapp icon and thus i must add the number to my contact list manually.
worse thing happenned if the contact is not in my whatsapp list and only in wechat / neither of them, the phone number basically just gone.....
this is quite troublesome and it happens whenever i update my MIUI, i don't sync with the mi cloud server.
anyone have any solutions for me that would be nice

I have a big problem with this phone ( NXT - L09 , B152 ), and I do not see a solution .
I have 1,300 contacts , which are located on the " google" .
Viber / Whatsapp contacts very often , for reasons unknown to me , just - disappear . When they disappear (in Viber, there is a message "No Contacts Yet") , of course I am unable to send Viber / Whatsapp message and also when someone sends me a message - I see only the number of the sender or nickname. Very annoying !
I had the same problem with Huawei P8max ( Lollipop ) and Huawei Mate7 ( Lollipop ) .
I must add that I have not had this problem at Huawei Mate7 when I used 4.4.2 ( KitKat ) .
I used a lot of phones , and only on Huawei have this problem.
I love Huawei Mate 8 but this really bothers me .

I'll try. But I'm not optimistic. Why does viber sometimes see contacts and sometimes doesnt? Logically, if there is no permission to access then they are never visible.

Same problem here... C636b170... Sometimes they just disappear....In Whatsapp less so, only 1 or 2 disappear and only the numbers are displayed. But they reappear after a while, same like Viber.
Also when I create a new contact with Viber, they disappear from time to time and get deleted from Google Account also.... Very annoying since I update them usually with tons of extra information in the notes field. When I create contact in Contact Manager directly, it usually sticks... Must be Viber Bug or something...

yes, but for me it was enabled, so you must first disable access to contacts, open viber try to sync ( you'll see that there are no contacts ), than enable contacts access and sync viber again
I have one contact on my phone and in Google that is showing with commas in the number in the text messaging app.
Example: 1,(555),888-1234
In the contacts app and on Google the number is showing correctly.
This is a issue with the new S8. I can't send text messages to this person using there contact. I have to create a new thread every time.
I have deleted the contact on the phone and recreated it and also on Google and recreated it. Still having the same issue.
Any ideas?
Hi guys, how are you all.
I am using Xiaomi Redmi Nite 4 with MIUI 9. In SMS app we can mark secret contacts and whenever these secret contacts will message you these messages will not appear in sms inbox instead we have to tap from search bar to down followed by the pin or pattern in order to access the secret messages. By this way no one can see the messages and the secret messages will recieve and stored.
Since tomorrow onwards I'll be shifting to Galaxy Note 5 device so I will badly miss this feature. Pls confirm on the following;
- Is there any way, if we could install xiaomi sms app in Note 5
- or is there any third party app which allows its users to get the sms from secret contacts in some personal inbox hidden somewhere in phone.
Please i need expert opinions.. thanks.
