Would you say that the OnePlus 5 is "fast" in day-to-day use? A higher rating indicates that you think the OnePlus 5 exhibits fantastic performance. Like, is it as fast as your tears when you watch The Titanic?
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
My old phone which I had to replace as it got smashed had a Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 821 and I though that was fast until I got a OnePlus+ 5 which is in another league.
Well, i am impressed by the overall speed and snapiness (coming from an exynos galaxy s7).
This thing can handle much without overheating! (A nightmare for galaxy s users)
I simply love my experience so far with my OP5.. It is fluid, fast especially considering Android, bright screen, lightning fingerprint.. Coming from s7 edge only 2 months old which was so laggy after installing all the apps.. Hope Android O and other releases allows us to stay smooth and save battery, I may not change my phone for a year (can't say for longer [emoji16])

for me the backups in twrp and titanium are noticeably faster as is a normal boot. i have yet to get rid of encryption but i think that will add further performance increase.
Looks like i am the only one from "humble" beginnings here. ??. I had a A5 2015 , i thought it was good and not that slow , i was gonna buy s8+ but then i saw op5 and omg its soooo much faster than a5 i am glad i bought oneplus .
I had a Nexus 6 before with overlocked CPU custom Kernel and lineage os on the board, oneplus 5 everything stock, no root, is insanely faster and the battery is much better, i lovee this phone
Awesome
sounds nice
Nice ! i also like it

Blazing fast
Compared to all the flagships I have ever had my hands on, the OnePlus 5 is the best of all, HTC U11 is very simillar in terms of overall performance.

Hehe nice quote there 'Like, is it as fast as your tears when you watch The Titanic?'.
Any way, I have the OP2 and some of my colleagues and friends have OP5.
When i used it for the first time, it was like you drive a brand new car..
The fingerprint is much fast and recognizes allmost 99 percent of the time.
After checking benchmarks on it, i was totally in love so i diceded to buy him ASAP.
Actually at this moment i'm waiting because there are rumours of a new version with extended battery etc..
8gb RAM version is quick. Really quick.
I'd love to try using one plus 5 which is said to have great speed. However, I am still confused to use it, while I still have galaxy s8 phones, which memilliki OS and spare parts are no less far away with others.
Thank you,
polarin.co.id
I m using 6gb version and till date I haven't faced any hiccup of performance lagness etc nothing
Just a Wow phone
This is the phone I would buy again n again irrespective of its successor Oneplus 5T.
Yes, yes, it's possible to love a phone. Heck, you sleep next to it, don't you? Rate this thread to indicate your love for the Samsung Galaxy S9+, all things considered. A higher rating indicates that the Samsung Galaxy S9+ is an incredible phone that you enjoy tremendously. You love it.

I am liking how snappy and smooth is S9+ is.
I loved the S8+, especially coming from a Note 4. I have the option to upgrade every 12 months and did so for the new camera and relocated fingerprint reader. Still love the S9+ but the 'wow' factor wasn't the same obviously.
Liking it so far besides the fingerprint sensor doesn't work properly on either of the 2 I purchased. Hopefully Samsung will get the bugs worked out soon.
currently liking it but almost identical to my previous s8 minus the new little feature gimmicks i got the purple one even I am a man because I want to be unique.
This is my first Samsung, and I have to say is the best phone I have ever had in my entire life.
For reference, my previous phones were a Mate 9 Pro, a Pixel 2 XL and the U11+.
Possibly one of the best android phones i've ever used design wise. Samsung software is nice but i never like getting pre-installed garbage i can't get rid off. Will however root soon...
This is just the perfect phone for me.
It comes with quite some beautiful design (Coral Blue)
Great screen, great camera for low light and slow mo, great performance (Exynos 9810) and 6GB RAM, great speakers, great biometric options, and the list goes on and on.
On the other hand, battery life is not as good as my previous phone (Galaxy A8 SM-A8000), and I hoped it is lighter and thinner like that phone.
Overall, this is just a special treat for me and I love it by my hearts.
P.S. I am glad I went for the Coral Blue S9+ UK 128GB Exynos variant, and it performs very, very well without breaking a sweat thermal wise (Snapdragon is known to heat up a lot more usually).
Also, since all the Snapdragon Samsung phones I had in the past had their motherboard toast after 2 years of usage or so, all my working Samsung phones are the more reliable Exynos (That A8 broke too with a broken display and unreliable battery, but mobo not toast yet) and I want to keep that trend of Exynos everything on my phones.
Waiting for mine in the mail right now. I'm currently using the note 4. Can't friggen wait, tired of the note 4 sluggishness
Also, I forgot to mention that I ordered my S9+ from clove on Feb 28th. The phones shipped March 6th, but clove did not get the coral Blue variant, so they ended up shipping my package on Mar 16th, only to get delayed by FedEx due to severe weather conditions as well as the exploding parcel in USA, with me finally getting my hands on it on March 22nd, and that is with me heading to the FedEx location and pickup myself. So yeah, due to this series of delays, I was getting too anticipated to get that parcel that I literally couldn't do anything properly for the past 2 weeks.
Anyways, I hope fellow ppl who still haven't received their packages to have better luck than what I have had.

I love the design and the camera. SO GOOD!
This is the best device I could have got.
Guys do let me know how is the PUBG experience on you Exynos Samsung S9 plus.I am having a very hard time with the device, game has micro shutter and lag over a period of time.
the device doesn't overheat temperature will around 38-40* I am running it on HD+ resolution with balance settings and high frame rates.
Very dissatisfied with Samsung on this part.

Well that's the Mali gpu drivers for you. Btw I am running android 9.0 pie beta (soilders rom on the s9+ section) The exynos 9810 mail GPU drivers has improved a bit. Getting slightly better performance and less throttling with the 9810 with 9.0 pie. So I guess wait a bit.
pros: best camera, look and feel (have the blue one without case), good performance, black themes
cons: battery could be better but is ok, major updates could be faster but can also live with that
fazit, best phone I've ever had

This is totally not my experience. I use the Exynos GS9+ and I have none of the issues you just mentioned while playing PUBG. Yes the phone does overheat but that is normal for any device which is pushing it's limits. Coming to the performance I play on ultra high settings with anti aliasing turned on and I have never as much as felt a stutter. The battery does drain considerably, around 10-12% per game but I think it's okay since PUBG itself is very demanding. For reference my device is set on QHD+ resolution.
I would suggest you to check if some unwanted app is running in the background and actually hogging up resources as that has happened to me plenty of times on my previous phones. I'm more careful of what I install now.
Really like the One UI and the performace it provides since I came from the S7
I've become very unhappy with my Galaxy S9+. Foremost is the fact that I can't root it. (I have one of those US models that you can't root.) It's my phone. I bought it; I own it; it's mine. I should be able to do anything I want with it. I tried to write a script to backup my SD card to a USB stick, but I don't have permissions to run it. Being a professional programmer, that really irks me.
Then there's all the bloatware. I disabled over 200 packages of stuff I don't want and don't need. Sorry, but I'm not going to be part of the Samsung culture - not a fan.
Samsung is acting just like Apple. "This is the way we want to you use your phone, and you don't have a choice." Well, I do have a choice - to dump Samsung. The OnePlus 7 is coming out next week, and I'm 'deep six'ing Samsung.

On my Exynos S9+ i got:
GeekBench - single 3757 multi 8834
Antutu - 239108
Anyway i'll wait for some software update, mine is still from January 2.
Exynos; no update yet for me.
Other than test, the phone is properly fast

Trimis de pe al meu SM-G965F folosind Tapatalk
I have my S9+ now for 3 days and it is quick, very quick. I had a S7 Edge before this and it's much faster and smoother. Wireless and data throughput is great and no issues keeping the apps I use in ram. The fingerprint scanner is very sensitive and quick to open the phone. The intelligent scan works great and is quick to, just sometime in low light it struggles
I've had my S9+ for a month or so and I'm starting to experience the "Samsung Slowdown" I've heard so much about. I'm noticing stutters when scrolling, lag, and freezing. I attempted to take a picture a few minutes ago and the camera hung on a black screen for almost five seconds before opening. Very annoying for the specs and price of the device. My Mate 9 seemed to run circles around this.
Seriously not seeing any good speed worth mentioning. Same like my old gs8 + and note 8. This guy heats up out of nowhere and throttles sometimes. not an upgrade.
---------- Post added at 08:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:48 PM ----------
Poor battery too
No issues. Had mine since launch and speed has remained the same. Its fantastic!
Have been having it for 2 months... once I had to restart it cuz it heated up and slowed down... but other than that... perfect
Been using S9+ for 6 months so far. Still fast but I feel like it's slowing down a bit.
Also which device you currently own and are you planning to upgrade for the new Samsung's flagship ?
I will be preordering the plus.
Spent the last year suffering through an Alcatel Idol 4S.
I know, self inflicted wound.
Currently S8+. Going to get S9+. Thought about waiting for Note 9, but the updates to the camera and ram seem sufficient for me.
Upgrading from S7 Edge to the S9+
i just ordered s9plus yesterday on clove !
now, using s8.
but i worry about galaxy X...
Have an OP5T and I'm planning to order the S9+.
Just holding off a little bit as I want to see more about it when in use.
Going from S8+ to S9+ the camera and ram and speaker upgrade is all I missed on the S8.
Sold my S8+, using a OnePlus 5 temporarily.
Will be pre-ordering the S9+ as soon as pre-orders are open in Pakistan, which is on the 2nd of March.
Currently S8 and I've pre ordered S9+
Camera main reason, but also screen size as I end up watching a lot of video on my phone.
Ordered an S9+ yesterday. Currently on an S8 - mostly upgrading for the better camera and larger screen (for books, etc.).
Considered holding off for the X, but I'm expecting the price to make the S9+ look cheap!
I have the Note8 and will be getting the S9+.
I'm confused about getting the normal or the plus version.
I had a Pixel 2 XL and now I'm with a U11+; this would be my first Samsung ever, but I'm a little bit worried about the battery life, which in most threads I have read is kind of average.
Size is also weird, feel like the normal version is small and the plus is too large, not used to this new 18.5:9 ratio.
I don't care much about the dual camera, because the normal version gets also most of the good things.
Any advice would be more than welcome.
:fingers-crossed:
Ordering the S9+ for myself. Most likely will order the S9 for the wife (not a power user) so it should be sufficient for her
Proudly S7 Edge owner and now Pre-Ordered the S9+ and waiting for it to be delivered (hard time )

I originally struggled with the same question when the S8 and S8 plus came out. I finally purchased the S8 plus and in the end was glad I did. I have no questions now, I have ordered the S9 plus from Clove yesterday and am eager to get it. The size difference is really not that great between the two phones - and the benefit of 2GB more of ram and the Dual Camera make it all worth while. There is HUGE difference between a single camera and a dual camera. I have the note 8 too and the difference in cameras and options is significant. My advice is to go for the S9 Plus, you won't be dissapointed.
Going for S9+

What about the battery?, in most of the threads I see average consumptions.
I'm not a heavy user, actually, any $100 could do the job for me, but I buy flagships because I rely on the phone's camera a lot by not having a DSLR or any other kind of camera outside the phone.
I'm just a little bit worried about the battery because Samsung has fame of not giving the best results. People starts with 5-6 SOT and they end doing half after a couple of months.

Well, I can't comment on the S9plus battery because I don't have it yet - but I can say that with every Samsung phone that has been released, the battery has been better than the phone I had previously. I have the S8 Plus and the Note 8 (the note 8's battery is the same that is going in the S9plus) I can't give you a screen on time because I don't ever look - but I know I am very pleased with how it performs and I have never had an issue. I also expect the S9 plus to do even better than the Note 8 because of the improved processors and chips they are using, which will run much more efficiently. Honestly, I would suggest that you stop worrying - and jump in - the water's just fine.

When I had my S8+, I was regularly getting 7h of SOT for the 6-7 months that I had the first one. Then on my second S8+, same results. Pretty good battery life on the plus models.
Samsung's Galaxy S22 Series Is a Low-Signal Beast
If you frequently have trouble staying connected to your carrier's network, the Samsung Galaxy S22 series might be the solution. In testing, Samsung's Galaxy S22+ and S22 Ultra phones significantly outperformed their predecessors (as well Google's latest Pixel phones) in low-signal situations.
Ohhh nice. I like this. A lot of my cell usage is in poor service environments.
you should add that it is about the Snapdragon version for a specific chip that is integrated by Qualcomm; Samsung had probably other priorities for Exynos

I think the software is beta like...cause the phone will release in 10 days and many reviewers have stutter bugs and something like that. Do you have a pocture of yout phone? Which colour?
It's the phantom black version, 12/256 exynos version (I'm in Italy).
I was thinking the same thing, I also have this glitch where the screen turns off when you're browsing the apps (just like you would double tap on the home screen to lock the phone) and the other screen glitch with the purple pixelated stripe popping up when touching the fingerprint scanner, I think I fixed that one by using a normal photo as the lock screen wallpaper instead of the animated wallpaper though

I'll reserve my judgement until it gets here around the 25th. Besides, these are brand spanking new phones so will definitely need a bunch of tweaks and updates.

I can vouch for this as I have seen similar reports and tests on the Exynos version being slow and battery life less than the s21U. So this isn't Trolls we're dealing with it's actually happening. So don't dismiss people so easily just because they are new and only have a few posts.
The article didn't mention the smaller s22 explicitly. Hopefully it has the same connection qualities.
Notice that they're referring to the US Snapdragon model, which uses an all new X65 modem. It's unclear how the Exynos model performs. If the Exynos modem is anything like the modem in the Pixel 6 Pro, reception might just be good instead of great.

Hope this isnt the case...my oneplus 7t pro had better reception than my s21 ultra and hoped with the s22u this will change :/
Early opinion of the Exynos S22 Ultra is that mobile data throughput is not significantly different to Exynos S21 series and Pixel 6 Pro modem. It may be slightly more balanced in low signal areas though - one bar performance is a bit more 'consistent'.
A new modem was my main reason for upgrading. I'll testing performance against a S10+ tomorrow, which will be interesting. The S10+ outperforms the Exynos S21 Ultra with 4G, consistently.
So I've got a Snapdragon S22U/512GB, and it def seems like the phone performs better in low service environments vs my old Note 10+ 5G
So easy to lie online
