Samsung experience 8.1 on Galaxy S7 / S7 edge (official update) ?

Hello. Does anyone know when Samsung will release Samsung Experience 8.1 (the one on the S8 and S8+) for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge? I'm aware that you can unofficially download the launcher, but will Samsung actually release the update? Can the Galaxy S7 receive this new interface with the update android 7.1.1? Of course I speak in case the version 7.1.1 will be deployed to the Galaxy S7 / S7 edge.
New touchwiz on S8 is much heavier then one on S7.
Actually, we have much more optimized user interface, there is no reason to change that with semi finished product like one on S8.

I actually prefer the one on the s7 my self after using a s8 rom not really to keen on s8

Yes you are right. But the interface of the Galaxy S8 is more pleasant and modern than that of the Galaxy S7. Especially with the disappearance of the icon "applications" and the new restyled icons. Moreover, it would be interesting to receive Android 7.1.1 and in this case Samsung could integrate it with the Samsung Experience 8.1 interface that will be optimized for the Galaxy S7.

They said Likely(but the site said, not Samsung). And 8.1 is 7.x android, not 8. Are they so dumb to release old version of SE with the new os?

Yes you are right. SE 8.1 is for android 7.0 and SE 8.5 this is for android 7.1.1. I think Android 8.0 will be launched with SE 9.0 probably. The Galaxy S7 should get directly this interface.

I think Samsung doesn't do this for S7 (For exemple:S6 won't get Samsung Experience 8.1)

I know J7 2016 and 2017 has SE8.1 the S7 can't get SE9 because the next year Samsung will stop updates for S7 (And the last Galaxy S who have a new Android never get new interface)

The Galaxy S6 has not received HE 8.1 because at the time of the update to Android 7.0 this interface does not exist! The Galaxy S6 (like the Galaxy S7) received grace UX because it was the latest interface at the time! So the Galaxy S7 will receive android 8.0 with the latest interface (SE 9.x). The J7 2016 has received SE 8.1 because at the moment it is the most recent interface for android 7.0

Mid-range gets 2 major OS update, for exemple the J7 2015 was released with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and Samsung do an update to Marshmallow 6.0.1 and in September,to Nougat
1 update for mid-range (J5 and J5 2016) is because they doesn't have an Exynos they have a Snapdragon 410

Bro. J7 2015 or the J700f/h Only got the official Marshmallow update but the No official Nougat updates. We do have custom ported Nougat ROMs for J7 2015 which I am running. And Ruturaj Madam is right. I don't think J7 (2016) will get an update now. Its already 2018 no updates yet.

Yes sir. I know about the Nougat upgrade for the J7 2016 variants. But I was just saying that the J7 2015 variant did not even receive the official Nougat variant. So maybe J7 2016 variants wont have the oreo official upgrade. But if it gets it, even better
The Samsung J700M is a J7 2015 though.
I'd like to see any version of AOSP for The J700T variant...
I was told not possible because we don't have a device tree ...I've started working on one if anyone wants to help..

We'll never know for sure. But my bet is also for "no" - the J7s of 2015 and 2016 are pretty out-of-dated as of 2018. Damn marketing which demands constant, yearly smartphone releases.

Oh I did not see that. That was a Brazilian model I guess. J700f/h are Indian models. And sadly. We didn't receive any updates ? But I will be more then happy if any of the mid-rangers get updated to Oreo.

Thier are possibilities but lets see. Even I will be buying a new boy soon so its not something which is going to bother me much. I can live with Nougat because it is still powerful and their aren't much changes in Oreo which are too good to die for it. I respect you bro for having a discussion here and gave me opportunity to grab some info. Thanks.

No Samsung being Samsung won't let you downgrade. Best choice is for your model is to try a custom rom that is Oreo favoured ( with binary 9 ).
