Android Oreo for Xperia Z5 - Sumire - Xperia Z5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can we get Oreo rom for Xperia Z5?
We want to use Oreo 8.1.
Please compile ASOP 15.1 or LineageOS 15.1 for us.
Thanks.

Yes, I really hope someone can make Oreos for this device

Thanks bro :fingers-crossed:

Will most likely not happen.
As long as Sony doesn't release an official Oreo for the device in question, there will be no kernel blobs to recycle. And it is even less likely that Sony will release any source code.
At "best" we could maybe have an Oreo without wifi, camera and nfc

But now my Z2 is very stable with RR oreo, sony newer released the z2 drivers for oreo.
I think developers want to create aosp for z5 they can.

Any idea about oreo guys? I want to test it.Other devices z2 and z3 etc. has oreo custom.

Oreo for the Z5 would be really awesome and a logical step, indeed. I mean, I flashed an old Z3 days ago and have an old Z2 next to me, both with a flawlessly working Android 8.1 powered by lineageOS. And then in my hand, my sad Z5 Dual which also works nearly flawlessly powered by lineageOS, but unfortunately with Android 7.1.2 Please, it would be awesome to get Oreo for the Z5. I don't see any need for for newer devices that followed the Z5: camera is great, specs are more than sufficient for my and most purposes, design-wise (always subjective of course) it is a great device, dual sim covers additional needs if you have that version, etc.
As the Z2 and Z3 have (inofficial, but perfectly working) lineageOSs, what is really the reason why 15.1 does not exist for the Z5? Is it just a matter of time or any technical reason? No driver support cannot be the reason as the Z2 and Z3 have no official drivers as well, right?

Any ideas?

Why not.. But have patience..not even a official build is out.. just dev preview..
After official cm will be out..n some1 MST port it
Official? Of course not, Jellybean 4.2.2 is the last and final update that Sony released for our device.
Unofficial? It's a possibility, but only time will tell. Considering 5.0 isn't even released yet, I'd say we still have to wait some more to see if custom Lollipop roms will be available for Xperia L
I'd say there's a high chance of about 95+%that Xperia L would get Android L but I'm not sure if all the bugs would be addressed.
The device tree for Xperia L is complete by varun.chitre15 and all you'd need to do as a developer would be merge sources once it is out. I'm not sure about blobs but I think everything should work just fine !

Not! Great news for 2203 owners.
Hi guys!!
I ve heard that the AOSP for xperia e3 only works on D2203 model, but in root method D2203 was compatible with D2206/D2243 but we are talking of an AOSP, so the compatibility issues can be at the order of the day.
So, I have two questions
Does it works on D2206/D2243 model (keep in mind rooting method and kernel SoC compatibity)?
If so, How can i return to stock rom if i dont like AOSP in my E3?
Thanks

I,ve already answered you on another post but this post has an extra question if you have kernel working from method then you also have cwm. Use it to make backup on external SD card cause internal is small it can't store full nanadbackup after flashing aosp if you lose cwm just flash boot.img from root method and restore it.
D2203, AOSP build from AOSP_L_150125_flamingo.zip
After the first boot, when the dipslay off, will never display again, if push the Power button.
Is this screen wake up bug?
How to solve this?

Thanks for that. Can you quickly explain what is the difference between the two repositories:
https://github.com/sonyxperiadev/kernel-copyleft
https://github.com/sonyxperiadev/kernel
The build instructions on both pages are very similar but only referring to the different github sources and using different defconfigs (aosp_xxxx_defconfig vs. xxxx_defconfig). I seem to gather the second repo ("kernel") is the "unified kernel"?

Android Nougat or Oreo?

I'm trying to figure out if upgrading to Android Oreo would be a good idea.
I'm running Nougat 7.1.2 with CarbonROM iny Sony Xperia Z5, an well, it's official that my device won't upgrade to Android 8.0, but that's not the point.
I'm using Xposed modules, Root (idk if it's possible to root android 8 yet) and all the advantages that it gives in terms of modules, customization, performance etc.
So, should I wait until Xposed is available on Android 8.0 or is ot worth it to upgrade as soon as possible (with a custom rom)?
What do you guys think about it? Would it be stable enough?

Need Sony Xperia M (Nicki) support

Hi all.. I have Sony Xperia M dual C2004 model with unofficial slim ROM nougat 7.1.2 beta build on it. After various ROM test I found this rom highly performed to my expectations but the developer hasn't release new build. I don't know what is the reason. I am excited to see new feature in its interface and navigation settings. Hope to get support from you guys...:fingers-crossed:
