How forward calls from gear s3 to phone - Samsung Gear S3

Hey guys I have a gear s3 with att lte and I was wondering if I could forward the calls to my tmobile note 5? I was told by Samsung that the carrier could do it. When I asked an att store rep they said it's not possible. So would I just call tmobile and have them forward the calls to my gear s3?

Anybody know

Hi, these type of things you really need to call your service provider to get a clear answer. We cannot help you with this type of thing.
Good luck,

Does the gear s2 classic ??

I can't seem to find a straight answer but does the gear s2 classic have 3g?
No
Can you make and receive calls and texts?
Annoying thread title btw.
You can see notifications on who is calling your phone and choose to answer or reject - but you can't use the watch as a mouthpiece/headset.
Texts get forwarded from your phone and you can compose & reply directly from your watch.
Ok. Sorry and Thank you
So far the 3g Gear S2 Classic has only been released in Korean markets. Unsure for the reasoning behind this, but if you can obtain it from that area, just keep in mind there might be sim compatability issues, esp if you don't use one of the BIG 4 carriers. (Att, verizon, tmobile, sprint)
Isn't there going to be one released here in the US on march 11th?

Yes, Gear S2 Classic 3G version will be released on AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon on March 11th according to the source.

Cross carrier use

I have VZW but am looking to get the S3 Frontier LTE through T-Mobile. It amazes me with the launch date being tomorrow VZW has no information on the S3.
That being said. How seamless will it be using a VZW S7 Edge and T-Mo Gear S3? I figure I can connect via BT when carrying my phone but how about when I want to leave the phone behind. Some have said the Gear app will allow me to forward the calls from the phone to the watch. How does that affect texts and other features?
I travel internationally so having T-Mo might not be a bad idea with their international included in their plans.
Thanks for any info you can provide.
It will very likely not work at all on Verizon's LTE (although it should work fine as a Bluetooth watch). Verizon's primary LTE band is B13, and the T-Mobile version of the Gear S3 Frontier doesn't support it.
I've read in numerous places that the SIM is embedded and will not work on any network but the seller's.

I'm not talking about using T-Mo's version on VZW. I'm talking about going with T-Mo service with the S3 but syncing it with my VZW S7 Edge.

Apologies, I've seen too many posts from people that want buy the TMO or AT&T LTE versions with the intent to use them on VZW.
Given your requirements, I don't think it will be as seamless as you might like, and I suspect it's a fringe use case so finding someone with practical experience may take some patience.
You might want to consider posting your question on the S2 thread, since it should not be any different with the S3. There are more of those users out in the wild, some of which may doing what you are considering. I too will likely be be crossing carrier lines, so please share your findings/experience.

It will work just as seamless as it would if they were both on the same carrier. I've used the s2, s2 classic and now I have the s3 from tmobile with my Verizon phone. I wish it did the number sync, but AT&T'S the only one that does that.
I used to have T-Mo Galaxy phones, but now I only use my work phone: Verizon S7 Edge. I have had all the Gear S watches since the first one a couple years ago. I switched to my Verizon phone a few months ago and it was seamless to pair with my Gear S2 and now with my Gear S3.
However, I am having a weird issue since I started using my Verizon phone (with Gear S2 and now the same problem with my Gear S3). Not a total deal-breaker, but annoying, nonetheless. I am sure there is a solution out there, so I am not giving up on the watch just yet. For no apparent reason, calls will sporadically be auto-answered (on the phone) or will go straight to voicemail and I'll get a notification a few minutes later, which is the only way I realize I had a missed call. The only thing that has changed is the phone is a Verizon model, so that is the only thing I can think of. The Verizon call forwarding is a little different than the way T-Mo does it, so that is all I can think of that could be the possible cause.
Other than that the T-Mo watch works fine with a Verizon phone. Just curious if anyone else has this problem or if they have the same set up and are not experiencing the problem.

Gear S3 and S8+ on Sprint - plan or no plan?

I've been researching this the last few days and even chatted with a Sprint rep (which was pretty much useless)...I can't seem to get an answer on this one simple question--if I get a Gear S3 with LTE and "pair it" to my S8+, what (if anything) is needed for me to be able to go out on a run without my phone and STILL be able to receive texts, calls and emails on my watch? Is there some $5-10/month plan I need? I understand that the watch and phone don't technically need be on the same provider, but I would like to stick with Sprint for everything.
Thanks.

I've got the unlocked Gear S3 on TMobile for LTE and my Sprint S7E gets forwarded to the Gear S3 when I go out without it. Now on the Note 8 (Sprint) instead. The Gear S3 has an eSIM. No problems for me using it this way. I can also make and receive calls on the Gear S3 stand alone as well.

Thanks for the reply. I assume you mean that your Gear S3 is on T-Mobile and your Note 8 is on Sprint, correct? So, how much are you paying for the Gear S3 LTE per month? I was hoping to avoid having bills from two different carriers.

Yes, that's right. Many others managed to get the TMobile for $5/month, but I wasn't on them so I pay $20/mom ($15/mon on auto pay), but it is unlimited and I'm not on a contract.

Yeah, I read somewhere that if you have an existing T-Mobile account, you can get a smartwatch added for only $5/month (with auto-pay), but as a Sprint user, I think I'd be in the situation as you and wind up with $15/month. For what I would use it for, I'm not sure that $15/month is worth it to me...I only need to be away from my phone with the watch a few times per week. I appreciate the info though, thanks.
Do you know if Sprint is planning on adding plans for ANY smartwatches? In the chat conversation with them earlier, they mentioned the new Apple watch as an option (I have all Android devices, obviously), but nothing else that supported LTE.

No, but that would be the only reason. They have not offered a smart watch plan since the Gear S.

No sprint has no data plan for the watch and the watch's radio is not on the CMDA network of Sprint, but on the GSM of T-Mobile. If I'm wrong, others chime in.

Gear s3 call forwarding not working

Hey guys I have a note 5 on t-mobile and a gear s3 frontier on att. I turned on the call forwarding in the gear app, but when I turn it on it says "calls are not being forwarded to gear". What am I doing wrong?
Can anybody help me?
Only to be sure... you have US device... SM-R765A ATT.
