[Q] Remove 'update to android 8.1.0' notification permanently? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Using paranoid android latest (nougat), I don't want to upgrade to oreo but I can't get rid of this notification. I've tried everything that comes up in search results like renaming files etc and the only real thing that works is turning off notifications completely for google play, but I don't wanna do that :/

[Q] Do I need to enable all 'disabled stock apps' before updating my system?

Have disabled almost 15 stock apps on my non-rooted Nexus 5. Would a System update go wrong when done without enabling those apps?
Probably a noob question, but had to ask since official Android L 5.0 update is around the corner
When updated from 4.4 to 4.4.4 I've disabled some system apps too. But it doesn't make a problem, all works fine.
OTA fails if you modify system. Disabling apps is not modifying system. System cannot be modified without root.

Many apps have stopped after Android 6.0 update - any global way to fix?

Hi all,
A few months ago I've installed a Developer Preview of Android 6.0 on my Nexus 5. It has worked surprisingly well and today I've updated manually to the latest build (MRA58N). So no root, official recovery...
Android itself works well, but many apps from the Play Store stop with the famous "Unfortunately [App name] has stopped" message. Virtually half of them.
I've tried the usual ways to fix the problem like the cache cleaning and so on, but nothing works. The only way is to uninstall the app and to install it again. Of course, every one needs to be configured next.
What can I do? Of course, I can reinstall and reconfigure every single app, but maybe there is a global fix already available?
[Update]: I continue to investigate the issue because my other Nexus 5 has been updated perfectly. It seems the problem is related to the app permissions as some of them can't access the files, other launch, but can't open any file. Any way to repair the permissions?
Thanks in advance.

I rooted my OPO, and now i have to change the Host file all the time!

So, i rooted my OnePlus One some time ago. And this has been so annoying since. I can't open YouTube nor Play Store a line in the Hosts file keeps blocking the connection. So every time i wanna use it, i have to go into /etc/ and change it. Does anyone know how i can make it so it doesn't keep changing?
It's currently set to NO Permissions, not even read. I have tried Read Only too and that doesnt solve it either. Just Keeps Changing
The Android version that is on it is: 6.0.1
Cyanogen OS version: 13.1.1-ZNH2KAS2X1-bacon

can someone help me?

so recently I accidentally wiped everything on my phone except TWRP. Then I managed to boot up the phone with liquid remix installed with android 9.0 and now my phone is missing the Samsung apps (which I want on my phone) how can I get them back is there a flashable file or any installable pack I really want them back
so if someone can help please tell me what to do I will really appreciate it
Aosp based roms and Samsung apps usually don't mix very well.
You could backup your Samsung apps using Titanium backup, then try to install them one by one in your android 9.
You could also Google for a site that has Samsung apps apk's.
Don't expect much success ?

I have the APK s I just can't download them to my device if you know how to install them can you help me or redirect me to someone else that knows what to do
I suppose you've enabled install apps from unknown sources in settings.
Try to install as you would any apk, i.e. open in file explorer.
As mentioned before, don't expect them to install anyway (maybe 1 out of 20??); most are not compatible with aosp roms.
For your aosp custom rom - look for similar gapps or apps from the app store or XDA.
