Where to get spare parts?
The top of the screen, the plastic layer. Where the HTC logo is printed on. That thing is broken. So the touch functonality isnt working anymore. And it is scratched. Where can i buy such a thing?
Ebay has good deals. What you need is called the digitizer. Such as: touch pro digitizer on ebay. I just had the same problem as you. I dropped my phone and something scratched the very outside layer of the screen. A small patch started peeling away and the touch screen stopped working.
Some sellers on ebay offer both the digitizer and LCD as a package, but unless the display is also not working, you can save money and buy just the digitizer.
I ordered mine on http://shop.brando.com/
Does the original front cover contain the digitized too? My son scratched the front cover and I asked the service center what they would charge to change it and their quote was anywhere between 150-300 usd!!!
I don't think it does include the digitiser as I think the screen is in three parts: The casing, digitiser, and AMOLED/SLCD screen.
My guess is HTC will replace the digitiser too hence the price. I paid £130 for new casing on my phone after I dropped it after 4 days. I was not pleased and I got it back with dust under the screen, sent it back and it came back with a scratch. It's all sorted now thankfully.
Just got a replacement lcd and digitizer replacement. Installed it all is good except i have a fuzzy screen that looks like the digitizer is dirty underneath.
The new AUO screen came fused to the lcd and is suppressed to be new. Is there an easy fix to this or should i exchange this for a new one altogether?
Hi all, phone had a nasty tumble and front screen is cracked, but still works fine. is it possible to change only just the front glass and not the whole screen? saw a few to buy on aliexpress http://www.aliexpress.com/item/For-..._8&btsid=4c706082-2885-4b18-a04d-62e15cedea46

replacement??
pls confirm whether this thing fits. any indian seller selling the same??
you can try: http://vifocal.com/lcd-display-touch-digitizer-screen-replace-for-huawei-honor-6-smartphone.html
Hi guys,
I'll bring this zombie topic back to life
So have any of you changed the lcd screen themselves?
How many connectors are there on the screen assembly?
I can clearly see just one in the middle of the phone next to the battery.
When I connect the new screen and turn on the phone - the vibro squeaks as in normal boot, but the screen doesn't light up.
My first guess was that I got a faulty screen so now I'm checking the second one and it does the same...
Is there anything I'm missing?
Thanks!
Did anybody try replacing the glass screen on the LG G5? Not the whole digitizer, screen only.
Looks like replacement glass is found quite cheap.

There is a crack on my screen, the touchscreen is perfect. Is there a procedure somewhere that can be followed to get it done? I see a lot of videos for a complete teardown. But is it possible to just use a heatgun to take the glass off and put the new one in?
These display modules are oftenly replaced altoghether, because replacing only the glass requires it to be really precisely fitted and hermetically glued, you can probably try to seperate the digitizer from the display, but you may end up with a some dust underneath the glass or some unwanted gaps.

I had a crack on my screen at the top of when it fell down on concrete floor. I had to buy the whole display with glass and digitizer for about 130 euros. I did not know that you can just buy the glass and replace it with a lower price. Oh well... but if you want to separate the glass from the digitizer or anything what is glued, always use the heatgun. You can also use the hairdryer. I had to replace a battery by opening up a back cover with a hair dryer. For separating the glass from the digitizer you have to heat it up very often, pry it open and hold at several spots, to avoid breaking components. It s quite difficult but take it slowly.

So, if I crack my screen I need to get a screen replacement with frame or just screen replacement?
Screen replacement with frame
https://www.fixez.com/store/lg/lg-g5/lg-g5-display-assembly-with-frame
Screen Replacement
https://www.fixez.com/store/lg/lg-g5/lg-g5-display-assembly-lcd-and-digitizer
You can get without the frame, you will just need to heat up the glue between the frame and old screen to cut through the glue to remove the frame. They cover it on the instruction video on Fixez.
