So I don't see any way to get it added to my account. I called the representative and she finally found out that it's not offered on any HTC devices. Is that true? If so, is there any way to get my voicemail captioned to text without using Google Voice or any other such service? I'm basically wanting my AT&T phone line to be captioned.
I really want to set up visual voicemail with Google Voice. I can't seem to figure it out though. Can anyone post a step by step guide? Right now, when someone calls me after 4 rings they get a message saying the person you has called is unavailable. There isn't even an option to leave a message. I don't know what I did wrong.
On another note, does anyone have any experience with At&t visual voicemail? Is it worth exploring that option over google voice?
This is one feature that I really would love to have on this otherwise perfect phone.

I assume your problem is that you don't have Google Voice voicemail set up correctly. For some reason AT&T has blocked the phone from having real intergration with GVoice voicemail which is really annoying! But that doesn't mean it isn't possible. To set up voicemail dial this number on your phone
*004*1YOURGVOICENUMBER#
obviously replace YOURGVOICENUMBER with you Google Voice phone number. After this your voicemail should be all set up and work with Google Voice!
Let me know if this isn't working and I'll try to explain better or help

I've set up GV on so many Android phones and pulled voicemail service to GV from AT&T and it was *so frustrating* to not be able to do it here. What do you mean I need to use my minutes to listen to voicemail?!?!
I wish AT&T had won out the 700 mHz spectrum so the FCC could enforce openess on them. Don't want to leave my unlimited LTE plan yet :/
I'm getting a GS3 and signed up for a new contract with Verizon. My questions are about Google Voice. Since the 2 have integration, my Sprint and GV no's are the same. For Verizon, I got a new phone no. and my plan is to make the phone use GV for all calls. This seems like the only way I can keep using GV and not have to give out a new no. to everyone.
How do you handle texts? I was hoping to not get a text plan and save some money. I found an app called 'Google Voice sms integration' which claims to put all txts in the regular sms app. Has anyone used it?

Hi all,
Have any fellow Sprint users figured out how to get voicemail to work properly on this phone? I can dial 1 to check it if course, but I don't get any kind of notification when someone leaves a voicemail for me. I'm also getting those annoying 9016 and 8737 texts all the time. I tried pulling the Sprint Voicemail APK from my GS4 and pushing it to the system/app folder on my N5, but it still doesn't give me any notifications.
Anyway, does someone have a fix for this? I'd prefer not to call Sprint if I don't have to. Thanks!
Im on Sprint, and I don't have this issue. What ROM are you running? I used to get those annoying 9016 texts, two phones ago, when I ran aosp Roms on my old evo

Unfortunately, i haven't seen any progress on the sprint voice mail app. You can either integrate your sprint number with Google voice to handle all voice mails or
If you want to keep separate numbers, forward missed and busy calls to your Google voice number (*28 Google number) and set Google voice to "do not disturb" so it goes straight to voice mail.

I'm just running the stock rom. Do you get notifications when you have a voicemail? The texts are annoying, but my main concern is being notified when I have a message.
So far I have.

I might have to try that. We'll see.

There are a few few threads about this. None have any resolution aside from use GV.
I cannot use GV and I do (did) get the 9016 without any other notifications. I now use PF Voicemail+. It's pretty close the Sprint VVM app we're used to. It took a little bit to set up but it seems to work. I now get push notifications and email when I get voicemail.
Still wish Sprint would allow the N5 on the VVM service.
I have the N5 on Sprint and after posting on their forms I can tell you that I don't think Sprint is going to give us a Stand Alone VMM app. I have installed Google Voice on 2 different N5's with Sprint and set it up to handle just the Voicemail and it works perfect on both phones. I have seen other threads with people getting the 9016 text. Before I set up Google Voice, whenever someone left me a Voicemail I got the notification to call, but never the 9016 so I don't have any advice for you there.
Have anyone had trouble with the Verizon visual voicemail (free Basic) asking to be setup after receiving a new voicemail every single time?
i find it very frustrating, dont know if its a bug or a setting on my phone, running stock 4.4.4 rooted
