You need support from your network for WiFi Calling. If you have then install that carrier branded firmware via Odin and it should enable it.

It's so inconvenient that Defy cannot connect to an adhoc network. Is there any patch for defy? There's such patches for Desire and I9000.
The key file is wpa_supplicant.

Are you using the same? will be great if you can post your wpa_supplicant file here.
Basically I need to be able to use internet if shared via ad-hoc network from my laptop.
BTW, I tried all the patches of wpa_supplicant given in this thread as well: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=755254but the wifi just can't search for any network and it turns off itself.
Check out webvan's post from page 4 or 5 onwards, he tried these files on his milestone and failed.
Any help regarding this matter would be great.

You on Singtel? I have the same problem, never work on midnote or Alba.
in AOSP any variation, will work fine.
I had to manually input the apn.

Mine I checked is e-ideas and that should be right unless you are talking APN "Internet" i.e. if we are talking Singtel here.

Yup. Infact both also can use. but certain apps like singtel barclays uses the eideas apn.
hi you can ask on maxicet's thread because it is his rom,
try changing it into hsdpa mode only it will improve your 3g
or flash the LB2 modem if it doesn't work try reflash the rom with wipe/factory reset (don't format system)
i read that some users added a new singtel apn (internet) and they could use mobile data after that. Like kuakua's example if i didn't interpret him wrongly

np I'm growing to love CM9 for SGN as time pass LOL. Just have to wait for the 2G/3G toggle fix, its somewhat a slight inconvenience for me.

It removes the VZW provision check for the wifi hotspot for Stock 4.4.3.
This is only for "Stock" 4.4.3, Not related to venom rom at all.

I am getting painfully slow WiFi speeds is there any tetherguards I need to get rid of I'm. Am getting under 2mb upload anywhere I go with full 4g also on my phone I am getting 32mb down and 22mb up... Where am I losing it at that for replies in advance

It replaces the default.xml file which has been edited to allow native tether to work without a subscription.
Can you post which lines were changed in default.xml to allow it?

I'm rooted and was able to activate. The opinion was there once I clicked it under settings

I'm thinking I may have got the option from using Galaxy tools. I used it to gain Hotspot and noticed a few other extras, like unlocked apn. Here is the link.

Once I turn Wi-Fi sharing off it kills the hotspot.... Idk. I'll keep searching.

The steps work for me. I find myself having Wi-Fi on with the wrong passwords entered into 3 sources. I then toggle the Wi-Fi sharing and the hotspot until it works. I'm sure there is an easier way out there but it has worked for me since day 1.
