Width of Bottom Bar - Oreo - Huawei Mate 9 Questions & Answers

Hi, just installed Oreo Update on my Huawei Mate 9 MHA-L29C185 (Middle East Variant). After use, i have noticed that the size of the bottom navigation bar and spacing between the bar and icons have increased and it's looking very weird. Can someone guide me if I can resize it. Picture attached for reference

Rotate-lock or hide the status bar yet NOT the navigation (buttons') one? (Lollipop)

Well, let me graphically explain this for better understanding: see attached screenshot.
:cyclops:
Well, the picture shows how CM Browser implements “full screen” mode, hiding the @#$% status bar but not the navigation one, the freaking buttons.
Let me tell you, I really love this! In landscape orientation, the navigation bar stays vertically by the side (96 pixels wide), turning my useable screen resolution into 1184×720 pixels (16:9,72972972973 aspect ratio). Now if the aforementioned web browser does that easily, how is that I've already review squashed a couple of “hide status bar” (as search string) apps off the Play Store because it seems all of these stupid mountains of dungcode seem to think it's mandatory to hide the navigation bar along the status one? Buggers!
What about locking the status bar by the side (rotation locked)? Now THAT would rock! (16:10+ aspect ratio).
Bring it on!

Salvador

How many status bar app icons are possible on EMUI 8 (OREO)?

Hi,
Please look at your screen status bar on your mate 9.
If more than 5 icons should be displayed on the left side, nevertheless only 5 icons are displayed at this side in the status bar!
The others icons are truncated. Is the EMUI 8 responsible for that circumstance?
My question: is there anything i can do against this behavior?
this is a developer forum and nobody seems to know a answer. tssss......

i want to make the Notification area like android 8's one (white area with green or blue circles) rather than the dark one in emui 8 , is there a way to do that? i'm using non rooted stock 8.0.0 mate 9 . thanks in advance
Yes you can
You can do it by downloading different themes.
I'm using Galaxy s8 theme on my Mate 9, including icons, status bar, notifications bar, navigation keys and more.

Honor 8 Oreo (EMUI 8): adaptive icons? How to change icons from round to square?

Hello,
how can i change the icons in EMUI 8 from round to square? In Android 8 (Oreo) must be an option to change this:
This i found in the www:
enable developer mode (on some devices)
long tap on homescreen, go to options, there must be an option "change icon shape"
On other sites there they tell about adaptive icons and that this can be changes on every Android 8 device (from round to square).
But on EMUI 8 it seems they do not have this option. How can i change this in EMUI 8? I dont want to install another Theme which square Buttons, because it looks not very good because not all icons the really square, they just have an square border and the icon is still round (see picture).
Can someone help me to change my Honor 8 with Oreo to square icons?
Greets, firemouz
I didn't saw this option in my Honor 10 too. I thinking EMUI removed this possibility.
