I would just like to share my experience with this device Moto Z (2016) EU Ver.
Battery life is equal among the most rom in my testing, if u want battery i recommend underclocking (big cluster: 1824MHz LITTLE cluster: 1478MHz)
Theres plenty of good choices out there , heres a couple of them
get.carbonrom.org/device-griffin.html CarbonROM - 7.1.x (most of the mods are working, cannot change volume with jbl mod, max or nothing. (applies to many roms except RR by Vache, and AOKP.
xfer.aokp.co/?developer=AOKP&folder=griffin AOKP - 7.1.x
download.mokeedev.com/?device=griffin 7.1.x No Mods
cloud.vache-android.com/Moto/griffin/ROMs/ A collection of roms build by Vache, mostly RR and Aosp Ex are updated.
As for now Oreo is too buggy for MY daily usage.

Hello guys,
i decided to make a new thread with all custom roms and stock based (4.2.2) roms for Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2, and say something little about them Here we go:
CUSTOM ROMS:
1. Cyanogenmod 13 by SandPox & no_name (Ishant Vivek)
- SandPox (Cyanogenmod forum) (http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/...alaxy-trend-plus-s-duos-2-gt-s7580-gt-s7582/ )
- no_name (Ishant Vivek) (Xda forum) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7582/development/rom-cm13-0-galaxy-s-duos-2-trend-plus-t3307986//)
Beta version for now, had some bugs but nothing that you can't use you phone - I use it right now. Faster and smoother than CM12.1 - that means it's best custom rom for our phone. 2 SIMs working perfect.
2. Cyanogenmod 12.1 by SandPox ( http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/...alaxy-trend-plus-s-duos-2-gt-s7580-gt-s7582// ) - Second best custom rom for S Duos 2. Words are unnecessary, CM12.1 speak for himself. It's stable, fast and smooth - 2 SIMs working perfect.
3. Ressurrection-Remix 5.5.9 Cyanogenmod 12.1 by no_name (Ishant Vivek) ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7582/development/rom-ressurrection-remix-5-5-9-s7580-t3325110 ) - Fastest CM12.1 (faster than SandPox CM12.1 and Temasek CM12.1. It's basicaly just like SandPox's but with much much much customizations. It's awesome how many customizations this rom have. All customizations are in Settings app.
4. Temasek Cyanogenmod 12.1 by no_name (Ishant Vivek) ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7582/development/rom-temaseks-cm12-1-galaxy-s-duos-2-t3295482 ) - CM12.1 just like SandPox's but with much much much customizations. It's awesome how many customizations this rom have. All customizations are in Settings app.
5. Cyanogenmod 11 by SandPox ( http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/106239-romunofficialstablecm11galaxy-trend-plus-gt-s7580/ ) - It's stable and without bugs - 2 SIMs working perfect.
STOCK (4.2.2.) BASED ROMS:
1. MilkTea® ROM by John Christopher Mediavillo Llaguno ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/rom-milktea-rom-samsung-galaxy-s-duos-2-t3146849 ) - Best custom stock rom for now, it's preety nice, it' has nice colours something like material desing, and it's fast too. it' has one bug (Google Play Service Force Close) but you can fix it.
2. Next Is Now S6 Experience by almamun512 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/custom-rom-samsung-s-duos-2-gt-s7582-s6-t3102845 ) - Very nice rom, it's has a S6 feel. I used this ROM for long time, it' has no bugs if you install it properly.
3, Lolipop Extreme V2 by almamun512 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/lolipop-extreme-rom-samsung-s-duos-2-gt-t3030181 ) - Nice rom in visual way - similar with Next Is Now S6 Experience, but Next Is Now S6 Experience is a little better. I use this rom very short and don't remember about bugs.
4. Lolipop Extreme Rom by almamun512 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/che...ipop-extreme-rom-samsung-s-duos-2-gt-t3033967 ) - Didn't use this rom, but it looks like Lolipop Extreme V2, maybe it's better to use Lolipop Extreme V2 because it's a second version of the same rom by the same developer.
5. S5 themed deodexed Rom by almamun512 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/s5-themed-deodexed-rom-samsung-galaxy-s-t2955229 ) Nothing special, almost look like stock 4.2.2 rom - It's first almamun512 rom, better use his Next Is Now S6 Experience or Extream Lollipop V2.
6. Custom Firmware+S5 TouchwizUI THEME by Rex Pestaño ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2794268 ) - First custom rom i ever try, nothng special, almost look like stock 4.2.2. You can skip it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CUSTOM KERNEL:
1. BLACKHORSE for 4.2.2 STOCK ROM by Yasinarefin ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/kernel-samsung-gt-7582-gt-7580-t3093976 ) - Fast kernel, with lot of tweaks., but it's beta version that means it's unstable.
That's that guys, sorry for my bad English, but i think you all will understand.
Happy flashing and modifying your devices.
Good Day XDA Friends
As you can see from my tag, I am a retired developer.I was around in the days od Droid, Droid X, & Nexus G and was a member of a few outstanding teams like Team Liberty, Team Gummy, Sensei Mods, etc & had the pleasure of learning from pioneers like Chevy No.1 Droid, Jrunny16, Kejar31, Fab, etc. Things were much more cut and dry back then. Fast forward to today in the land of MM, Nougant, etc and I have a lot of catching up to do. First I would like to thank all you newer Devs who have kept Android growing & thriving beyond anything we thought possible, kudos to you guys!
I purchased a Nexus 5 to practice and learn on, but the phone will also be my daily driver, so I don't want to bomb out of the gate and brick my phone.
I am running the Google Nexus 5 with stock Android 6.0.1 build M4B30X on baseband M8974A-2.050.2.30, Kernal is 3.4.0-g99666f7.
I have rooted the phone and have unlocked the bootloader, and installed TWRP 2.8.7.1, but that is the extent of my customizations.
I would like to get into Nougant Roms and possibly CM. Not Sure what to flash next to become current.
I would appreciate any guidence you can give on my next steps as far as what my next steps should be. I'm looking at [HAMMERHEAD][7.1.1_r6] Zephyr OS v6.1 [DUI/OMS][27/12/2016] - [N5][OFFICIAL][7.1.0]Tesla N - 7.1.1_r4 [OMS] [28/12] - [CM14.1][7.1.1_r6] DARK ROM [Pixel features][Delta updates][12/29] - [ROM][N5][7.1.1_6]★ Pure Nexus ★ Substratum ★[16/12/16] [Official] CyanogenMod 14.1 for Nexus 5 (hammerhead)- [ROM] [hammerhead+caf] [7.1.1] [LOS-based] **crDroid**v1.8 - [Hammerhead][official][2016/DEC/28] Slim6 weekly 1.17 / Slim7 alpha 0.5
Could someone who is knowledgeable tell me or link me to any upsates I must haave befoe flafing?
Thanks in advance for your time! :good:
~Mobile Sensei (0z0z)
There isn't much left. The Nexus is basically unbrickable with an unlocked bootloader and TWRP, unless you corrupt a bootloader flash.
However, you have the latest bootloader and radio, so there aren't any issues there
If you want to really get into Nougat you have quite a few decent options.
In no particular order-
- Slim7 Alpha (AOSP, pretty great ROM, minimal, fantastic battery life, blows all CM ROMs out of the water in terms of battery :good:, but lacks some features that other CM ROMs have (Night Display, etc.))
- Dark ROM (CM14.1 stripped down)
- LineageOS CAF, and an unofficial non-CAF (CyanogenMod 14.1 has been renamed, and will be built under the moniker LineageOS. Non-CAF builds and the weekly builds structure will be sorted out eventually)
- NitrogenOS (fully fledged CM based and packed full of features. Everything you might have wanted with Xposed is in this ROM)
-crDroid (CM14.1 based, lots of features)
-Santosh's AOSP- constant updates, stable, most bugs have been fixed regarding HDR/screen recording/green lines while video recording
...and many more. All of these are decent daily drivers; I cannot attest to their screen recording capabilities but I do know that some do have bugs concerning that as well as Google Camera/HDR.
Please note that most Nexus 5s with non-OEM screen replacements cannot boot CAF (Snapdragon Optimized). Be sure which ROM you are flashing!
IMO CAF gives slightly better performance but is relatively unstable and results in quite a few lags across different ROMs.
I also can highly recommend the blu_spark kernel as well as the ElementalX kernel for Nougat ROMs. I prefer blu_spark for its customizability, but ElementalX is rock stable.
That's it really. Just be sure to wipe system/data/dalvik/cache before clean flashing a ROM. Never flash custom kernels/ROMs over different custom kernels/ROMs; you can generally flash the same custom kernel/ROM over a previous version of the same kernel/ROM.
I was using crDroid for a long time since first came out with N version, but now I'm using AICP, because it's AOSP based and I must say I prefer it more than CM based, I found it's power consumption is lower and lower memory footprint plus it gets constant updates, so I use it now on both D821 and G3 D855 as well...
Can someone please quickly tell me their favourite/most stable Nougat ROMs for Moto G, I've been out of touch from the forums for a bit.
Thanks.
My favorite was [ROM][7.0.0_r19]AOSP+OMS/Substratum for Moto G![14th NOV]. But it has not been updated for quite a while now. My new favorite is [ROM][Falcon][7.1.1_r4][Nougat]Slim7 - UNOFFICIAL. No unwanted bs and super stable.
I'm a AOSP lover. my first fvrt krexus MM. 2nd fvrt is IDcrisis 6.
edit: sorry, I didn't noticed op asked about nougat.

Vanir or viperOS
did a rehash on all latest builds from respective noughat ROMs. very impressed with;
AOSP based;
pure-nexus very small footprint, has all the essential features
dirty-unicorns has all the features, still small footprint, latest october sec. patches
Lineage based;
i would vote lineageOS best, not bloated (like of old) at all still being actively developed. (vanir from the looks of it is almost identical to lineage)
Viper has again has most features.
Want dual sim working nougat rom 4 moto g .
I tried aosp & remix latest build but only one sim working.
2nd sim detected but no network. Plz suggest me dual sim working nougat rom.....[/QUOTE]
After installing AOSP Extended.. I never have to think to cange the rom.... so my best is AOSP extended.

like aosp but updated cause the one we have has no updates
You did not tell us if you have Osprey or Merlin phone. If you have an Osprey, like me:
I guess the ported stock Nougat ROM will be the most basic. Link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/20.../rom-stock-rom-6-0-1-optimized-t3609991/page1
Check this thread for further ROM suggestions for Osprey:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/help/rom-moto-g-xt1541-osprey-t3658721
Or just search through the Original Android Development forum for all different G3 variants:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/orig-development
Lineage OS is also a great Nougat rom. Almost AOSP, no heavy customization and great stability
If you do go for more customizations AOSP Extended is great
Pure Nexus ROM: very stable (my daily driver and never found any issue), smooth and very simple and light ROM ?
LineageOS or aosp-caf, I’d say
I agree with @nubry Purenexus is my favorite for a close to AOSP rom.
Hey guys Techniroy is here with another ROM for you which is basically for Gamers and also for those who want good battery backup and also performance as well this ROM is basically based on Oreo with lots of Customization you need and close to stock android vanilla as well,as per my experience this ROM is always good when i need good screen on time/gaming performance and daily task as well with nightly updates by the respected Developer, the Developers have optimized the overall ROM so perfectly it give us huge performance even without any overclocking please do check out this ROM once you'll see what i am trying to saying
