I apologize if this is posted elsewhere in the forums, or if it's incorrectly placed, But I figured it may be useful to some.
after hours of looking and browsing the internet, I finally found a way to root my Samsung Galaxy J1 by Verizon.
You will need the following: Samsung Galaxy SM-J100VPP non rooted
Kingoroot application OR
Kingroot application.
Step 1) Go to your dialer and enter *#*#759#*#* or install an app called Hidden Menus and look for "Rlz Debug UI..."
Step 2) turn OEM Mode ON
Step 3) Use KingoRoot or King Root and click root.
This will work on devices that have received the OTA update from VZW.

If anyone knows of a CWM Recovery or Custom Roms For this device, I would very much appreciate a link. if not, I will have to try to port it myself. Thanks in advance.

Bunk help
I've tried the king method and odin method and still can't root this J100VPP.
I even tied to brick it nothing. The king method stops at 90 percent. I'm lost, I need a new idea.
I have the exact same phone and I was able to root with kingroot.net. If I remember correctly I had to do it two times before it was successful.
Patience

I had a Samsung Galaxy J100VPP from Verizon, an I move to Guatemala, and a rooted the phone, and I need use the phone in Guatemala with the Guatemalan Companies, the companies are Tigo, Claro and Movistar, what you did to put in work your phone in Venezuela??? Help Please
Old thread but I just got root using Kingroot 4.9.5 to root SM-J100VPP with andriod 5.1.1 confirmed and working.:good:
Working for me but afraid to update it with the chainfire one want exposed on this
It worked for me with Kingroot and Hidden Menus but after optimizing with Kingroot and uninstalling a few bloatware apps, it crashed, restarted (with the open lock icon, "custom" underneath, now on startup) and no longer has root access in Root Checker, it saying "Root access is not properly installed on this device".
I think it should be noted that Kingroot originally told me root access was unavailable but below also said "Root strategy available, just try it", so I did. Now it seems that wasn't permanent. I won't attempt it again unless one of you has a lead that requires me to.
And how do I know if I got the OTA update from VZW?
Anyone else have this problem?
I am a greenhorn with this stuff. This is my first root attempt. Please be specific when directing me somewhere if needed.
I used Kingo root and after a few tries it worked. I like this better because I can use tasker with the build in Superuser (after build prob mod of course and for some reason supersu). I was not able to get tasker to work with King root.

The hidden menus is an app you can download from the play store to enable Rlz Debug UI to OEM mode. I have used Kingroot (which is the closest i get to rooting the phone) and Kingoroot. Just go to their sites and download the APK.
Hello everyone.
I need some help recovering data from a Samsung J7 (2016) with a screen pin. If it's possible, if I can remove only that pin without touching the apps in the phone will be great. I was thinking to format and then pass a recovery app after rooting but I think I will have issue with Google FRP.
Not sure if I go to download mode and root through Odin if I can then remove the pin (or through custom recovery) and do it without USB debugging enabled.
Why I need the data? The owner died few days ago (suicide) few days ago and the family and local police asked me for help to access the phone, so the information is very important.
I tried some things but I'm out of ideas right now. I don't care if the phone have warranty which will be lost.
Also, I'm not doing it for money, I'll do it to help the family.
Any help/idea will be great.
Thanks.
i have the solution

Which video? How if I don't have custom recovery but stock?
It doesn't help and I don't want to f**k the data trying to flash twrp without being sure the phone will boot up
UPDATE:
I have access to the Google account linked to the device. I set a PIN through device manager and tried it after inserting a sim card with internet, but I haven't wait enough and after inserting the PIN I got blocked another 60 minutes....damn.
I can't find if he set a Find my phone through Samsung (I don't know which email he used)
Hi All
I have an S7 Exynos with latest Magisk installed and everything has been working flawlessly till I decided this early morning, for not any particular reason(except my increasing amount of grey hair ), to lock the "developer options". I think I have done the same maybe a couple of years ago though cannot remember how I had solved it.
Obviously my phone was instantly locked.
Would someone be able to link a good working solution with being able to keep data and apps? I am a bit desperate as my work is starting again tomorrow.
Thanks a lot.
look at frp bypass
Costum binary blocked by FRP lock is a protection, whene you do a factory reset from recovery. the only way you get this message is with odin.
this one works for me on s7, s7 edge and s6 tab
Thanks @Dagobert
I will have a look at it now and see if it is not too scary. See my S7 FRP

Do you have acces to the phone?

If you have acces to the phone then backup your data do a factory reset. Then you can flash whatever you want. Frp lock is a google protection with a google account. Whene you do a factory reset from settings you wipe the frp.
What is Google FRP?
FAQ for Samsung Mobile Device. Find more about 'What is Google FRP?' with Samsung Support.
www.samsung.com
I have access to the phone via PC/Odin only. No booting as per image above. I wand to keep Data and Apps
I assume I have to flash stock with home csc to be able to enter the phone again? Then root again, if I so wish?
Yup. Maybee a long shot but try Flashing your former firmware with Odin, using HOME_CSC. I think thats the solution
More info on that in this topic
Help! How to flash without losing data?
Good day! My phone got stuck on breathing Samsung logo after my phone updates. Now the only option I have in mind is to restore factory data. But I have some important files in my phone that is very essential in my work. I know I have read that...
forum.xda-developers.com
hmm., done the flashing with the files plus home csc and it asks for password, which I have entered without success. I know the password and it justs does not accept it.
See the factory reset warning and the FRP lock still being on now.
I'm desperately trying to avoid wipping data and apps.
edit: unfortunately I had to format/reinstall as I could not find a workable option.
so yes. im migrating this question from polish forums here cause of locked thread
i have "a few" samsung devices locked with knox by "someone" (noone even knows who) at school.
already 3 people work on it with me.
this is locked by an online account we dont have access.
these tablets ARE PUBLIC but someone thought its theirs private.
how can we factory reset this ***tty hardware without sending it to samsung (we know they dont do anyting good with it, and its not ours first time with android software, specially me)
already tried:
- searching in google/duckduckgo/startpage/bing/etc...
- trying to load roms/twrp via odin. didnt worked.
note - tablets are WITHOUT ROOT, NEITHER UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER.
AND - we dont wanna gather data - just factory reset it so it can be usable. we know its hacking anyways.
btw - we can install lineage with twrp if its needed. this is fine. we just wanna have working hardware.
Hey,
I have a bunch of devices that are enrolled with an MDM. They don't have a standard Google account activated since these are meant to be company owned, which means no FRP activated through Google.
The issue at hand is that if I factory reset through the recovery mode and then start the phone there is nothing blocking the device from being used as a normal device. This is not good enough because and I need some way to make the process harder to dissuade malicious intent.
One way to do this is with a Custom ROM. https://www.hexnode.com/mobile-devi...id-devices-in-hexnode-mdm-by-configuring-rom/ https://www.hexnode.com/blogs/the-big-hows-of-managing-custom-android-os-in-the-workplace/
So that leaves me with a question if it's possible to take the stock ROM and just add the MDM APK with the configuration. As I understand, this would always then boot into the MDM configuration, leaving any other option of the table. (As long as the device is not flashed with stock ROM again.)
Another option, which I can't see if possible is if the whole Recovery Mode menu can be disabled/locked with a passcode, making it not possible to do a wipe through this way.
Appreciate all the help I can get with this as I'm new to this scene!
the mdm devices are running bythe admin mdm policies, the admin must enable or disable features from the phone or add more security steps

I've tested this with Scalefusion, Hexnode and had a chat with SOTI.
All of them say that it's not possible to lock or disable the access to the Recovery Menu that you can access by holding the Power button + Volume up and then Wiping the data and restarting the phone as a new device.
If there would be a way to disable this menu, then that would be great. But according to them they can't do that since it might brick the phone.
So now it's either solving a solution myself for this or trying Samsung Knox devices that offer more options regarding this problem.
