Hi
So I have a lenovo A5000, I upgraded lately to lollipop 5.0.2 and it worked kinda fine ( with few bugs in wifi) but it was working, until they issued another update and I made it hoping they'll fix these bugs. In fact they did, but they ruined another thing, the most important thing which is calling.. now the phone can't read SIM cards, and obviously can't make calls.. I've been waiting for a FIX update for more than a month now but in vain can you please help me?
The update version is "a5000 s124-151118 8g row" (the actual one, the one that ruined the phone)
I appreciate any help!
IMEI Lost
Yours is an MT6582?? It is an older SoC with a lot of solutions already availble , check my library for anything of use : https://cloud.mail.ru/public/4y1e/8EmB3askZ . I am a long time MTK/Lenovo starting 4 years ago with my first Lenovo on MT6582 QuadCore now I am on MT6592 OctaCore. When you say update you mean OTA update? ? Lenovo OTA is prone to cause "bootloop", black screen, softbrick in 95% of the case , you are one of the lucky ones who manage to update without those issues (albeit with WiFi/IMEI issues) MTK firmware structure is different from Qualcomm/Intel devices since it installs the modem drivers in seperate memory segment and will be reinstall everytime you reflash or do OTA and therefore bound to loose IMEI (you will have to rewrite the IMEI check on your giftbox for the number -hope you didnt throw away the box) Please visit Lenovo Russian Forum for firmware : http://lenovo-forums.ru/talks/ or http://4pda.ru/devdb/phones/lenovo for full Lenovo support rather Lenovo International Forum which doesnt help users at all. Please use Google Chrome with tranlator installed to vist Russian site.

Thanks for replying buddy
Well yeah it is an MT6582. yeah it's an OTA update, from the update center in settings. I did update it almost 4 times before, I mean before upgrading to Lollipop, well the first upgrade was okay as I said with only few bugs, but the second one after lollipop was the one who messed the sim
I didn't have any problem from the ones you mentioned above, the phone boots normally.. but I don't know about the IMEI thing, how can I do that, I still have the box!
what do you think about taking it back to the provider, I mean the warranty is still not void, will they be able to get me back the original firmware(Kitkat) or the new working Lollipop... do you think they accept such things?
okay, I'll check out the forum for more informations :good:
thanks a lot, again
Sending back to Lenovo service center is the best option ( i.e. Lenovo official service center not an agent , distributor) You are still good on warranty ( within 12 mths) and you have not rooted it or open the covers. Its your choice , if you want to " learn" how to restore IMEI/ NVRAM for MTK you are welcome to try. ( If there is an MTK device in your future purchase) it doesnt happen on all MTK but once in awhile we at Forums do get request to restore IMEI ,some users succeeds n some dont when they fumbled on the method given.
Hi I succesfully flashed my brother in laws Lenovo A369i with the latest firmware Lenovo_A369i_4.2.2_(by_xdafirmware.com).zip found at http://firmwarefile.com/lenovo-a369i
I followed this guide and used the flash tool included in the firmware package above, and the latest usb drivers from below:
http://www.modifyandroid.com/stock-roms/lenovo/how-to-install-stock-rom-in-lenovo-a369i/
https://androidmtk.com/download-lenovo-usb-drivers
According to the phone, this version is A369I_S110_140108 - and when checking for updates it says that this is the latest one - but how can I be sure?
I searched on google and most of the times there are sites that claim to have the latest but they don't write which version it is(very anoying) so I can spend many hours(very slow internet connection) on downloading the one I already have or one older.
The information and guides on here Xda has not been updated for a while.
The Phone works with both phone calls and sms, but the IMEI is not written - so should I do that with SN_Write_Tool_v2.1504.00.zip, MTK Droid Tools or is there an easier way to do it - or should I just forget about it?
UPDATE: I got this sorted out now, by rooting with framaroot and using Chamelephon to first make random IMEI then reboot and change the IMEI to the correct ones.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My second problem is that the phone were unlocked before I flashed it and now its locked again - are there a guide to unlock it?
The phone were not bought with subscription, we bought it here in the philippines from Lenovo Mobile( not real Lenovo company but dealer/importer allowed to use the name(for god sake stay away from them)) and after repair the dealer sent back different older model(this A369i) with less battery and locked to Globe. After trying for 2 months to get them to give us the unlock code, I gave up fighting them and had it unlocked at phone repair shop were they had to use a box to do it, so I never got any code.
---------------------------------------
Third problem: I need to root it but not sure which tool to use?
Update: This is sorted out, see above.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fourth problem: I like to install custom recovery on it - but which one work best and allow to flash from SD card?
As this is the first time I have flashed an Mediatek phone, are there anything else that I need to do?
Hope an expert can help me

Hi all,
So i,ve been reading the forums here for a little while, gathering as much info as i possibly could. This is my first post, in hopes of getting a little more clarification from some of the more experienced people on here.
Im currently living in China, where I plan to buy a couple of P20 pro’s, one for me and the other for the wife. The phones here in China are normally locked down, with no google play, and normally installed with a whole bunch of local apps.
I would like to flash an international stock firmware back to the phones. From what I’ve read, i will need to first need to install TWRP. Im using a MBP, so im guessing ill need to install the Android Debug Bridge.
Im a little confused when it comes to the firmware file versions. I realise that the handset model changes somewhat, so I guess im asking what do I need to be careful of in this regards? What do all of the different letters and numbers in the firmware file mean? I’ve worked a few out, but a definitive guide would be much appreciated.
If I want to get to a non-country modified version, of the stock firware, then what file should I be looking for? Im guessing its a non-region specific version. Is it fine to just flash this to the phone using TWRP, as long as its the correct version, dual sim, 6Gig mem, 128G storage, and the P20 Pro. Or do I also need to be aware of some other differences?
Finally what is the preffered method for unlocking the bootloader? I’ve seen different post, some mentioning registering with Huawei, and other talk about an unlock tool... what do you use?
Any help gratefully appreciated.

Hi guys! I am new here, so sorry if this thread is misplaced.
I have an Insys VI4-903 tablet. Insys is a Portuguese brand, so it's unlikely that you'll find its products anywhere different than Portugal, Angola, and a few other Portuguese speaking countries.
A few weeks ago, after picking up the tablet after almost 2 years without using it, I started getting Google Play Store error 491 everytime I tried to download and install an app. Since I didn't know better, to solve the problem I first rooted the tablet, and then started messing with the tablet until I finally flashed a new recovery (TWRP) through Rashr app. You may ask me why, but honestly, I don't know why I did it. The tablet got hard bricked. Finally, I read about (re)installing the stock firmware. I tried to install some firmwares I found, but until now none of them worked.
I am here today to ask if anyone can help me find a firmware (or the stock firmware) for the tablet. I am using PhoenixSuit to install the firmwares, so I am looking for a .img file. The CPU is an Allwinner A33, and the motherboard reference is BM903_V1.0 2014-08-20. The build number of the tablet is astar_uarmmid. The version of the Android is 4.4.2 (KitKat).
Thanks in advance!
So like a dummy I flashed the wrong firmware on my P40 Pro. LGRP6 instead of LGRP4. Now when booting it says "Your device has loaded a different operating system" and then goes straight to erecovery. In eRecovery, downloading and restoring the system doesn't work because it fails to retrieve package info.
I already tried everything possible with HiSuite Proxy, too. I read bricking a P40 Pro this way requires to replace the motherboard, but not sure how true that is. My phone is still under warranty, but I'd prefer to fix it myself, if possible.
Any ideas? Thanks.
Tried eRecovery without any sim card in it?

Yes, I just get retrieving package info failed. Every time
Then it seems motherboard replacement is the only known option left.
Same issue with me
I spent a month to fix it and didn't find a way.
I tried Chimera Mobile and it didn't helped.
The only thing that probably can help is SigmaKey software. If anybody has it please check and say did it helped or not.
Huawei don't want to replace it by warranty for me, that is why I try everything.

I can't find anybody with SigmaKey. Probably I'll go to replace the motherboard in the nearest future.
Other methods definetely don't help.
Do you have any update? Please share if yes.
Hi all! My device is finally fixed! It was fixed by disassembly, hardware testpoint and flashing of Android 11 via SigmaKey!
You have to find a very expirienced person to do this work. I can recommend one person in Moscow, Russia in private messages.
Disassembly is probably necessary

Thanks for the update!
After 4 days trying everythingI found also a guy who told me exactly what you are saying. disassembly is required because of the test point. No other way currently.
SoI will go to a phone shop tomorrow to disassemble the back cover of my P40Pro+. Then the guy will do the whole flashing process via remote. But it's paid service for 30$. I decided to do or because I wanna use this phone.

The only other way is to try to replace the motherboard by warranty.
However, in my case Huawei refused me this.
I think 30$ is a good price because it was very difficult for me to find a person good enough to do it.
Hi guys. Just posting a small update here. I found a xda user who accepted to help me unbrick my P40 Pro for a donation via remote desktop. He will be using paid tools and hopefully it will unbrick the device. I'll post another update soon, to let you guys know the outcome. Fingers crossed!

It is not always possible without disassembly. (Like was in my case)
I wish you good luck but be ready for disassembly.
Another update. First of all big thanks to @oslo83 for accepting to help me with my bricked P40 Pro. Unfortunately things didn't go our way and the device is still bricked. The problem is that I flashed LGRP6 EMUI 11, with EMUI 10.1 preload & cust. A ****ty situation but it is what it is. @oslo83 advised me to take the device to Huawei repair center (it's still under warranty) and that's what I'm going to do.
However if anyone has a bricked P40 Pro, I still recommend oslo83 services, there's a chance your brick is different from mine and that he will be able to unbrick it. If not, he will issue a refund like he did for me.
Hi guys, I have a brilliant update for you guys:
The guy I was working on this issue was able to fix my phone remotely with SigmaKey. After hours of tries he made it!
There is no software solution yet - so the back cover has to be dissembled. I went to a phone shop at the corner and let them open it. After removing ca. 10 screws you can reach the "Test Point". There are some videos on YouTube which can support you. Its not easy but its makable.
The genius guy gives a step by step instruction what to do via WhatsApp.
So at the end my P40Pro+ works again and I am so happy! I will start the downgrade now (to install gms)and I will DEFINITELY use the correct FW this time
I can share the contact - send me a private message.
Another update hopefully the next one will be the FINAL one.
So like @oslo83 suggested, I contacted Huawei via chat on their official site. They accepted to repair my device for free with no problem. I sent my phone to the repair center and now I simply have to wait. The person in the Huawei chat told me it could take up to two weeks. And another thing, they let me know the phone will be updated to the latest firmware, so I probably won't be able to downgrade and install GMS, unless there is a way to install it on EMUI 11 (not sure). But at least I'll have a working P40 Pro again
I have the same problem. I'm tryingto fix it with hsuite proxy and the phone in fastboot&rescue mod
In HiSuiteConfig.xml I added to be able to enter the recovery mode
<rule type="ELS-N29" cnName="HUAWEI P40 Pro" enName="HUAWEI P40 Pro" option="" ></rule>
I'm testing to flash this:
Base version: ELS-LGRP4-OVS 10.1.0.176
Custom version: ELS-N29-CUST 10.1.0.8(C432)
Preload version: ELS-N29-PRELOAD 10.1.0.2(C432R5)
Checked "Recovery OS", CUST PKG and Preloaded PKG
So far it connects
I can download and unpack the firmware on the phone
but then I have an error-message on (Installing 0%) telling me, that on this phone the recovery mode is not available. I'm trying with different base firmware - but every attempt takes a lot of time.

Update: It's always the same error message after unpacking the files. So now I'm trying to install an EMUI11 rom.
Now testing with:
ELS-LGRP4-OVS 11.0.0.175
ELS-N29-CUST 11.0.0.3(C432)
ELS-N29-PRELOAD 11.0.0.3(C432R5)
Update: Failed to at 0% :-(

It looks like I have flashed the following:
"FirmWare" : "ELS-LGRP4-OVS 11.0.0.170"
"FirmWare" : "ELS-N29-CUST 11.0.0.3(C301)"
"FirmWare" : "ELS-N29-PRELOAD 11.0.0.3(C635R2)"
Still trying to reflash ... any ideas?
I've built now my own dload
using the files downloaded by hsuite over hisuite proxy inside Hisuite\ROM/
and copy them on a USB-C-drive /dload
trying the usb-flashing method. So far it went only to 37%
