It's time for me to upgrade my Verizon line. In have narrowed down my choices to 3 phones. Here is the list of phones and price.
LG G3 $50
Sony Xperia Z3V $100
Galaxy Note 4 $200

Should've went with the Note or G3. I have the Xperia Z3v at the moment and I got bored of it quick.
No root will be available anytime soon, even with that, good luck ever unlocking the boot loader. Battery life isn't as good as advertised and its basically an Xperia Z2, just re-named.

Actually, IMHO the Z3v is more like a Z3 trapped in a Z2 case. It has the same processor, RAM, and GPU as the Z3. The camera is basically the same except the Z3 has a slight bump in extremely high ISO capability. The screen is slightly brighter on the Z3 but the Z3v is not dim...I cant even use it over 50% without burning out my eyes. The Z3v also has dual stereo speakers and Qi charging. Basically you can't lose with either device so it doesn't matter what you call it... It all comes down design aesthetics and I happen to like the Z3v. I can't switch to a different carrier so the Z3 isn't even an option for me. lol
As far as battery life, since I've had it when it launched in October, I've never gotten less than 7 hours actual screen on time, easily averaging over 8. The most I got was 11 hours screen time. I charge mine nightly but a couple times I tested the longevity....got 48 hours 19 minutes uptime with 6 hours 50 minutes screen time. Another time I got 42 hours uptime and 7 hours 15 minutes of screen time.
The Z3v has far exceeded my expectation in the battery department... I have never once used any of the stamina modes.

The LG Gx phones and the HTC One Mx phones are some of the best smartphones you can get in terms of battery life, for sure.
The "x"s are to be replaced with numbers in application.
The Sony Z3 and Z3 Compact have fantastic battery life. So does the OnePlus One.
Every body talks about the 2015 Flagship from sony that it's disaster specially after the 6.0.1 update

Web browsing 4 to 8 hours a day taking some shot here and there no movie watch neither gaming
is the battery good enough to stand the whole day without any problem and if forget to charge it does that make any problem to me ?
and is there an option for " soft charging " like Xperia Z3 and does this option what cause the problem for the battery ? to half it time from 5.1.1 update ?
any advice would be great my brother was having xperia z3 and he managed to get +10 hours SOT what about Xperia Z5
Z5 has got some terrible battery on MM, there are so many random wakelocks on MM and the only way to deal with them would be via brute force it seems
BUT on Lp its fine, easily got 5hrs SOT on 5.1.1 and the camera isnt messed up (this is DRM related though)

ok should i go for Hauwai Nova Plus with +10 hours on screen time and +8 hours of HD video streaming or Z5 or Z3 or go for the x's series ? like Xperia X ?

depends on what you want
z3 is about to be dropped for support so if you dont care about updates its a good phone
Im not too familiar with hauwai but im the Xperia Z5 is my last xperia because of all the issues that have shown up with z5, great hardware just meh software yet lolipop is fine

my Z2 although my z2 is damaged its just amazing battery life (im talking consistent 8hr SOTs but there is no sim in my z2, i do have a LOAD of apps install to my z2, its just full of random crap)
and the last firmware released for the xperia Z2 is just amazing, so perhaps z2/z3 may be good but if there is a phone that can do you better then go for that,
unless sony fix the battery drain with Z5 (6.0.1 MM) then this phones battery will stay rather crap
note: Z2 and Z3 are very similar devices and I personally think z3 is just a tad nicer.

is there a way to get back to 5.1.1 for z5 i heard that it's battery got +8 hours SOT before 6.0.1 ?
I still think the Z5 problem is the processor that consumes a lot of battery power. Although they are saying that the XZ does 4 hours SoT!

i saw a lot of reviews for the z5 before 6.0.1 update
and it was 9 hours SOT and so
but after the update alot complain about the battery life
i thought it would be " soft charging " what cause the problem like the z3 but i didn't use the z5 yet to tell
so can anyone check this out ? maybe it's the problem ?

On MM there seems to be a load of system wakelocks and services that just dont sleep and ive tried fixing this but it didnt go so well
(i semi-had a solution that would make the camera unusable due to lag but this doesnt work for me since i often use my camera)
On LP there was no need at all to even bother with such since the battery was good

Battery time should not be phone picking point (unless it is disturbingly low).
No matter a phones energy management is good, the manufacturers will put just enough battery to let you end the day.
So, the best solution is to determine the expectations from a phone, than pick the best match, and then buy a powerbank if necessary.
P.s. I used to have Xperia Z2, my sister has Z3 and neither of us seen such SoT times. 7 hours at best.

No bro, never buy a Huawei phone or you must be regret for your choice. I think you should buy a XZ, it's the best phone ever made by Sony, you won't regret. I am thinking of selling this Z5 to buy the XZ

Xperia X sucks no development here at all, i had it also the X but damn Z5 is waaaay better so lucky i have a new Z5 and its the mothership of all Z series and its also a flagship ^^

Might sound like a stupid question/ discussion. But...
What makes the Z5 worse than the older Z3? I heard the battery life (since a "revised" update to Nougat was released) has really become worse compared to the "stable" Marshmallow 6.0.1-powered Z3. True?
Replacing a trusted but cheap/bug ridden Moto G4 with an old flagship.
Z3 is better as of now only due to its firmware being so absurdly stable
But the lastest firmware seemingly is very good comparee to prior updates for the z5

i wish i had my Z3, battery life was so much better than my Z5! but Envious_Data is correct it is a lot better now than some other updates.
although some people here will tell you that with the right ROM (if you want to unlock the bootloader and install a custom ROM) you can get decent battery life out of the Z5.
I was recently using lineage but flashed back to stock and was suprized to see it to be just as good if not very slightly better than lineage.

Z3 is better,but now battery on Z5 latest build 2.33 is realy ok,I got 3:30 to 4:30 screen on time depend of usage and uptime but cause Z5 have only 2900 mAh,thats good results.

I did hear the Z3 has better than the Z5 and the speakers are louder too. But I still find having Nougat 7.0 has its advantages. So, would you say the Z3 is a good choice than the Moto G4?

I think Z5 has a worse battery life than Z3 mostly because of the inefficient sd810. Anyways, my battery life got better after 7.1.1 update.
Ok, Im about to take another decision to get a phone, a cheaper one due ...Mexico and poor economy, I want to buy an Xperia Z3, but, i saw many times the Z has the battery drain problem (Like my Z1 that drops to zero suddendly)
and i i saw this phone may have it
I want to ask
DOES this phone drain drops its battery that bad?
My z1 has likely 60/40 % and drops to zero instantly, I dont want to have that problem too
I could go for Xperia X, but is a bit more expensive,and Xperia Z3 has the 120fps option..

Dont ever buy sony device, just go for any samsung device. I really hate z3. last 1 month i spent for troubleshooting.
