if you are using my recovery, please do not report any issues, since the official twrp is out there is no need for reporting issues with my recovery.
It's finally here! Custom Recovery for Galaxy S5 Neo! (and probalby all S5 neo variants)
This recovery is still experimental but it's highly functional. It can do most of the job done (if not all?) This is ported from galaxy j7 which in spec runs same exynos processor but says different otherwise?
Your warranty is void, you know that already.
You're allowed to do what you want with this file, i don't mind, no permission needed.
Unofficial-TWRP-S5Neo
How to install:
Extract files to sdcard
Run flash-recovery.sh
Grant su if asked for
Done, Reboot, Enjoy!
What's Working:
Backup/Restore
Wiping Partitions
Browsing file manager
adb sideload works
Flashing ZIP
Not Working:
Credits @Dees_Troy for official twrp & twrp team
and for their j7 twrp I could use as base for the port.
Already downloading!
Thanks again man!

Flashing ZIP works. However haven't tried xposed but I belive it will boot loop.
I tried flash the system.img (stock) it worked but gave me no system installed. I guess it's a bad system image
Very nice!
Thank you!
Now the wait is over. :good:

We don't use the 64 bit structure. Which is bad.
Wow I asked dees_troy about how we could fix recovery
He's answer came after I made the port which makes it rather funny

I have the S5 Neo from some contract work that I did.
LastStandingDroid said:
hey sorry to bother you. but
is there any way to port twrp from j7 to s5 neo?
both running exynos 7580 however j7 use Qualcomm too?
or is it possible to ask for a request on it, or do you think we can use j7 sources and remove the files which isn't relevant?
regards
Now don't start to think I copied he's work you can decompile both the official twrp and mine, and you'll see differences.
Damn I was beaten. Still succeeded to port it. Can be good for future reference

No that isn't a port that one is built from source. twrp images are build from source on their site but I guess it was a silent release since it wasn't known until now or he released it rather sooner which I doubt.
Anyway have fun
I'm gonna use my recovery since then I definitely can't blame anyone else [emoji14]

I think the point he was making is that there are 2 root methods (2 different programs, if you like):
1 is called KingRoot and doesn't work
The other is called KingOroot, and this is the one that has shown to work on these units.
He wasn't pointing out your spelling mistake!
Jeah i know, but i tried Kingoroot and it does not work. I havent tried KingRoot yet.
Try this

It is for other rockchip chipset...but under nougat as well

You must install and then run Kingoroot. At 90%, it usually hangs, then simply terminate and re-run. It takes a while to get the root done.

I'm almost at the end of my workday, I'll test it directly and report here.
@ikerg
Both apps doesnt work.
Toast message after 10 seks appear: "Root fail"
But thx for help.
I read about a method to enter the stock recovery via an update.zip.
So you are able to flash supersu.zip through stock recovery.
Anyone got an update.zip which is compatible with my device?

I think the only method to root could be by means of adb from computer and inject the supersu

In factory settings type 'adbon' and then 'adbwf' and that enables adb wifi.
That gets me into the unit and I've then pushed su, and apk to data/local/tmp but I'm too thick to go further!
Pushing the intel sofia adbwifi package kills my HU completely, lot of hunting to find 7.1.2 20170731 to flash back!
Using 'RK3xxx Firmware Tools by SergioPoverony' allowed me to turn 'ro.secure' to 0 in the boot.img, repack nupdate.img and boot normally.
If I unpack 'system' and straight repack back, the unit will not even come up with the boot logo.
I think we need a pure 'root 7.1.1 - 7.1.2 PX3' thread that remains purely on that topic! There are bits and bobs dotted over XDA and 4RU but nothing concise. There must be a way to get root just so I can disable all the apps I don't use.
adbwf doesn't work for me.

Your welcome. Great idea.
Does anyone have a solution in the meantime for the root problem. I would like to bring TomTom to run on my new HU.
I really need to root my mtcd device, hope somebody finds out how to do it :good:
Well I've got as far as SuperSU just failing to update the binary.... hopefully getting there. But it is through and wifi. I have no idea how to go about it without.

Good evening,
I have Magisk installed and updated.
I want to install Xposed Framework.
I have tried to install it from Magisk by adding a module, but it gives me an error.
Is there any "special/different" way to install it on this smartphone?

Yes mate, no need to scream. Xposed (edxposed and taichi) is working good in Android 10. In Android 9 cause random reboots. anyway there isn't much to modify

Good night,
My intention was not to scream, just to attract attention, I'm sorry if you have taken it as a scream.
Out of curiosity, how did you install it?
From what you tell me, in Android 9, the Xposed Framework fails, is that so?
My intention is to install a couple of Xposed modules that are essential for me.

Thank you very much for the info.
I have one more question:
What method of the two are in the link: Download Xposed for Android 10 [Magisk Module]
Have you used, 1 (With EDXposed) or 2 (With TaiChi)?

Updating modules and app
Goodnight,
I have "EDXposed" installed using this method: Download Xposed for Android 10 [Magisk Module] and I see that there are several updates to the following modules and the app:
1.- Riru-Core (19.7 -> 19.8)
2.- Riru EDXposed (0.4.6.1.4510 -> 0.4.6.2.4529)
3.- EdXposedManager (4.5.4-45401 -> 4.5.7-45700)
I have the doubt if it is good to update everything or not.
Somebody made it? Is it convenient to do it?
regards
