Maybe it has come up before, but I wanted to create a quick thread about this issue, because it has seriously began to getting on my nerves the last couple of weeks.
In the beginning when my phone didn't detect the sim card(s) I simply had to reboot. After that I had to remove the sim card manually and insert them back into the slot.At some point they weren't detected at all.
I searched in the Lenovo forum and found this thread:
https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Moto-G...lus-SIM-card-randomly-disappears/td-p/3543823
For now I've cut out a tiny piece of paper and put it between the sim card and the top side of the slot, rebooted and voila.
My both cards were detected.
I've ordered two adapter, because the method with the paper is provisional at best and hopefully it will solve this until I get a replacement for the cards or buy a new phone.
With best regards

Hey everyone. My partner has a I5800 and since I started to root it, after about 3 months its started this "no sim card inserted" or "sim blocked"
Now... I have changed through 4 ROMs. No one saying any problem with that. Is it the phone? I have checked the card and it is in there safe and sound. Please help.
Thanks
Try using the sim card in another phone. If the sim card doesn't work then it's a problem with the sim card.
Take out the SD card and rub it with pencil eraser, then put it back in the phone and reboot. (Worked for me)
Breathing on the contacts before sticking the SIM into phone worked many times for me. Moisture helps reducing the contact resistance. Sounds like a short term solution, but worth a try.
So i needed to change the module board of SIM Card, got one on ebay, opened the phone and replaced the little board with 1 flex conector.
but NOW when i turn on the phone theres no message of "sim card not found" and theres circled slash on where suposed to be network.
am i missing something or i might just screwd it up?
Open it up again and make sure everything in connected correctly and that nothing is shorted.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
ok finally made it.
the thing was that its so damn fragile...o replaced many times the boards in many diferent and sensitive ways...and then one way worked out even though i cannot tell whats the different between the correct position and the other ones that did not recognize the SIM CARD module/board.
Error for me too

Hi, I am facing the same issue. Whatever the sim I am inserting, I am getting "Insert Sim Card" message only. Will this work if I replace same like what you did? Can you paste the link?

I had a similar problem, turned out the replacement tray was bad.
I don't get to say this often but I actually encountered great customer service. I ordered the replacement sim card tray/sdcard holder for a Samsung device on which the sim card reader had been damaged. I received the one piece tray but the sdcard slot was non-functional. I wrote an email pointing out the flaw with no expectations. Got a new part in 2 days. No run around at'all! No 2 hours navigating an automated phone nightmare (Net10/AT&T), just a dang email. I gave em good feedback ratings on their site of course! I don't know if it's allowed but it's so rare to find good folks I feel the need to pimp em.

Phone is working fine. Reading sim, microsd card but sadly i'm stuck on 2g now.
disassembly
I am in having to replace the sim card holder on my skyrocket but I am having trouble finding out how the sim card holder board is attached to the main board,,could someone direct me to some kind of disassembly guide or something
thanks
I've been researching this issue and have found a lot of threads about bad/corrupted SD cards randomly unmounting themselves. But the issue my phone seems to have is that the SD card isn't securely seated, and I haven't found much, if any, info on how to fix it.
Basically, my SD card unmounts if I bump my phone the wrong way. More often than not, it happens when I'm putting the battery cover back on. I did some fiddling with it, and once the card is inserted, if I gently pull on the card towards the edge of the phone, it unmounts. If I gently push it back towards the center of the phone, it remounts. I don't think it's an issue with my particular card (SanDisk 32GB Class 4) b/c I've tried two other cards (another SanDisk and an Kingston) and they all do the same thing.
I've tried pushing down on the card slot a bit to try and tighten up the metal sleeve that the card fits into with no luck. I've also tried putting a small piece of tape on top of the card to make it seat more firmly. Neither approach works. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. I just got the phone recently and have been very happy with it (MUCH better than my old Droid RAZR). But I take a lot of pictures w/ my phone, so having a sketchy SD card is driving me nuts!

Hi, I just purchased a Galaxy S7 SM-G930FD and wanted to do the 2 sim and 1 SD card mod so that I could have both my lines plus SD card however the mod got stuck in my tray, I damaged the micro SD card and Sim card and I had to push the eject tool so hard that it damaged the ejection mechanism! Now the tray won´t go all the way in! What´s the replacement part that I need to order and where can I buy it?
Thanks!

Hi
Check in Ebay they have them OEM or generic
Thanks, What should I look for?
Hi! Thanks! The thing is I don´t what to look for. I´ve searched for the motherboard but that doesn´t have the card slot, neither does the front or back chasis. I would prefer to buy a piece that includes the card slot so I won´t have to solder anything.

Hi Max 404, Thanks! but the tray is in perfect condition, what I ruined and need to replace is the slot where the tray goes, would you happen to know which part of the phone comes with the card reader slot? I´ve found the reader itself but I have very little experience soldering.
Thanks a bunch

Mate
That is going to be very expensive , is the mainboard and lots of disassembly...not easy at all
Check here (step 11)
Here part number , plus no IMEI you have to get someone to transfer your original Imei to the new mainboard.......
Did you ever successfully fix it?
Same problem on S8+
after bending 2 eject tools to get the tray out (had installed 2 SIM + Micro SD mod) I managed to get the tray to stick out from the phone for like 2 microns!. the tray wouldnt move out any further so what I ended up doing was to pull the tray out with the help of dental floss! as genius as I thought I was, soon after I found out that the tray no longer sits flush inside the phone. even without any SIM or SD card. the tray it self looks alright. I think I have damaged the eject mechanism as well. Has any one solved this issue? am I looking at a costly repair? could it be the tray being deformed?
I cant post pictures sadly yet here. would appreciate if any one can help.
I've searched around and couldn't quite find the answer I was looking for. Hope this is the right spot. So I've been doing phone repairs on the side for a couple years, I don't claim to be an expert, I try to stick to just basic screen repairs and simple component replacement. I stay away from anything involving soldering because I don't have the equipment or the patience. Someone brought me a Galaxy s6 active today and he destroyed the SIM card reader trying to fish out his sim card with a (get ready for it) sewing needle! I explained to him what a pain in the butt the s6 actives are to take apart and get all the way down to the sim tray, which led me to wonder if there is any kind of adapter or external SIM card reader you can plug into the phone through the charging port and connect to the network? I come across these situations all the time where people have phones that have damaged SIM card readers and the repair costs outweigh the price of the whole phone. So is this possible?
