What are top 3 phones for recording perfect-quality videos in difficult environments? - General Questions and Answers

From my own research it looks like the Note 7 and Note 8 are the best options but I wanted to ask here to be safe. What are the best phones for recording perfect-quality 1080p or better videos in low light/darkness with constant rapid movement and flashing lights going on? The audio quality of video recordings is also extremely important. Is there anything I can do to record the target audio while minimizing extraneous noise around me? I'm going to my first concert this year.

Questions about the Infuse

Hi,
I am considering the Infuse since the Arc seems a bit too small (I'm using a Dell Streak atm) and I would like to ask some questions about this phone.
1.Most of the phones I've own have a big problem when recording videos during the night or in low light conditions; they tend to drop/skip frames since the camcorder tries to compensate for the lack of light, resulting in very choppy/blurry videos especially for HTC devices. Does the Samsung Infuse follow this trend and are you satisfied with the quality for night/low light movies?
2.I've read that there is also a continuous autofocus for the cam - if you zoom while recording a video, does the camera re-focus or is the video grainy/pixelated?
3.How does the speaker sound? Is it on the low or high volume? I mean, does the music sound clear/crisp and loud, or does it need some boosting in a next firmware?
Thanks for your help!!
Answer
In low light the camera on the infuse performs as well as my Canon Rebel $400 digital camera. This goes for video and stills. The zooming is digital. At 8mp you can zoom pretty far before getting grainy, but as with ALL cell phone cameras you will never be able to take a photo of a college football game when you're sitting in the stands, it just can't zoom that far. The zoom is better than any phone camera I have ever seen, save one device that was primarily a camera and had a klunky phone afterthought. The speaker is loud and crisp. Very decent for playing a tune while I get ready in the morning when I can't use headphones. Hope the info helps.
Thanks for your input - it's really what I was hoping for before considering this phone. This was very helpful!! Thank you!

desire s audio sound during video recording

ok so i was at a concert recently seeing my all time favorite rap group whom i have been listening to since my childhood, whip out my desire s to get some good hd footage, get on the train and then bammm the audio is completely blown out.. now of course i was p'd off especially when people who were recording with the iphone 4 and the blackberry their videos were absolutely fine in terms of audio which was clearly audible.. it seems that it does not automatically recognise that the sound levels are too high and does not lower the sound intake or whatever, not too clued up with all this.. anyone else experience any issues with audio during vid recording.. i have read somewhere that recording with your headset plugged in makes a drastic difference.

Video quality

Your friends are never going to believe what you did. The only way to prove it to them is with that video you took. Rate this thread to express how videos shot on the Huawei Nexus 6P come out. A higher rating indicates that videos are smooth (and not choppy) and that auto-focus works very well, and that the camera adjusts quickly to different lighting conditions while recording.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Crisp, but lack of OIS makes for really choppy videos if you don't have a steady hand. The EIS helps a little but not much
The video image quality is great however, the lack of OIS really shows and audio quality when recording heavy bass is like nails to a chalkboard. Unfortunate for those who came from a Nexus 5 will have to endure another year of static bass audio.
The video quality is not bad but i can see same strange lines when i record a video
Does anyone's nexus make a noise when focusing almost like a low clicking? You really need to put your ear up to the camera to hear it, mine makes it and if I watch the video playback loud enough I also hear it.
Well, video quality isn't so bad honestly.

There's a cover of a song, and throughout the entire video - you can hear faint and constant clicking noises. The room where it was recorded is dead silent, so I'm not sure where it's coming from but it's annoying!
Video quality is excellent. However shooting at Higher frame rate (120 or 240) there is some pixelation on the screen even though resulting video doesn't show that.
There is one thing, if you are shooting slow motion video and go to review your video and then come back to camera, it defaults back to normal speed back. You have to select slow motion mode again everytime you exit out of camera viewfinder screen.

sounds good but what is that clicking....are you saying you did this recording and you heard nothing of the sort with your human ear while recording it live?
assuming you have a human ear??
Did a test side by side next to a Z3 Compact, camera was MUCH better.
digital stabilization is terrible, ur better off just turning it off. Its just to wobbly and unnatural.
and I get a little bit of white noise on recordings, when recording in quiet areaa.
but I like the recording more then the Note5 that I have as well, note does shoot birhter videos, but softer and less contrast. Especially in lower light where note produces unrealistic images.
Is there any app to view the video frame by frame similar to iPhone?

Am I correct in saying the audio is mono and cannot be recorded in stereo ? It was the same on the nexus 6 also.
disappoint that no 60fps option on stock app
I need to install "Open camera" to record video frame by 60fps

WORSE microphone during videos EVER!
maybe it's just with my phone (A2005) but it's really not sensitive at all. it barely catches the entire ambiance and voices and its volume is very low!

mine too. the best video performance i can get is with "cinema 4k" app, turning everything to max (200mbps video) and then enable flat profile. the videos look awesome but the audio is crap. maybe we can fix this in mediaprofiles.xml to a higher bitrate?!
Just returned from Roskilde Festival and the conclusion is as follows. The video is fine, but the sound is terrible. All video recorded at the concerts is useless because of distorted sound. Very disappointing, when some of my friends have older phones with much better results.

The noise suppression is the problem. It's set way too high. I encourage you to report this to oneplus. I already did. It's the same with OP3 sadly.

Good audio recording with video

I have a Pixel 1 and absolutely love the audio recording characteristics while video recording. I play drums, and this is the first phone that I can just aim at the drums and play loud or soft, and the playback is excellent. Not distorted, and also very little annoying sluggish or excessive changes in recording volume. Even the deep punchy b ass drum is felt as much as it is heard, and the high end of the cymbals is good. It has made great recordings of live music whether front row or far away. The phone needs to be replaced. Does anyone know of another affordable phone with similar audio recording characteristics? Thank you.
No need to reply at this point. I gambled, and picked up a Samsung Galaxy A51. The audio section seems better than that of the Pixel, and the phone overall is superior to the Pixel, too. $6.24/ month seems pretty good too. Glad I piscked it up.
