My phone won't boot I left it off and charging
Now if I try to boot it nothing happens
If I plug in the charger there's 3 slow blinking light them a fourth one which is about twice as long then it repeats once then stops
Is it bricked or something please help
no not bricked. did you let your phone die before charging it?
take the battery out for about 10 minutes or longer, then put it back, plug the charger, just let it. then turn it on after few minutes. happens to me all the time.
Uhh my battery just broke its producing 2.4 volts instead of the needed 3.7 volts my phone is fine I tried my brothers battery from a G2 turns if you can get the contacts to line up a sensation will work fine on a G2 battery it doesn't fit but oh well
Had this problem. I just left it. Will stop eventually.
Have you tried leaving it on charge with the orange light blinking for a while? It may just be completely drained, and after a while stop blinking whist charging.
If I drain my battery completely (when conditioning battery), when I first plug the charger in the orange light flashes for a minute or so before staying on constant. It only does this if I completely drain the battery, so maybe try leaving it charging for a few hours and see if it charges up?
cheers
According to Motorola Mobility, the solution to a fully discharged battery not restarting is to plug it in to charger and press & hold the power button for 18+ seconds, when the battery should resume charging.

how u discharge it ? just leave the phone for whole day without plug the charger ?

What is the expected behaviour for charging a unit with a deep discharged battery?
Immediately after plugging in a charger the white notification LED will turn on. This LED will turn off, when the battery is charged to a sufficient level to power the display (could take up to 10 minutes before the display turns on). Tapping on the power key will wake up the display and the phone will display the "lightning bolt" icon over the battery meter. The display will time out, but charging will continue. Phone should remained plugged in (at idle) for up to 5 hours for a full charge. It will take longer, if phone is in use.
Thanks. can boot on already.. :good::good:

if nothing else works just plug the phone to a charger and hold the power button for at least 2-3minutes. the white led should blink a few times. after that leave it charging for an hour and than turn it on by pressing the power button.
this was the only thing that worked for me.
Fixed
Faced the same problem, the phone had ran out of charge completely and and switched off. Plugged it in to the wall charger but that wasnt of any help. Connected to my laptop and same result!! Wont Charge! Held the power button for about 2-3 minutes and the LED flickered 2-3 times and the 0% Battery screen showed up. Showing the same screen at the moment. Hopefully its charging.

Thank you for this advice - I followed it and it worked. I had my Moto G plugged in for hours prior to trying this with no success.
When you press the power button, 18 seconds probably won't be long enough so keep holding the power button. I had to hold the button for around 3 to 4 minutes but it worked eventually.
It Works!! Thanks!!!

Oh!!! I almost got a heart attack I guess . Because, Moto-G was the only smart phone that never gave me any trouble. Even my Samsung Galaxy 3 LTE gave a lot of headaches . When this acted dead, I was really upset. Your solution worked fine I guess. Screen just appeared. Still on 0%, but apparently it is charging now.
Thanks Karan. Your solution is the best. Costs nothing
I had the same problem, but at least for me the above trick didn´t work. The phone simple dind´t boot, or display any notification light.
I left the phone over night at the charcher and nothing... Tried multiple chargers, computer ports, laptop ports, etc etc, and still nothing...
Then I went and read online a little bit more about lithium ion batteries and found out that the trick is to let the phone of the charger for a couple of hours (for me was about 5 hours) and then the phone will reconized the phone.
Hope this helps someone in the same situation. (If the press and hold trick dind't work).
Worked !
I bought moto g yesterday ,I faced the same problem which scared the hell out of me! But after power key for longer time ,now the 0%
battery is displayed ! Damn relief ! Hope it's charging now !:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
Moto G dead after deep discharge
Hi, my first generation moto g is dead. Continuous notification lights get on when I plug the charger. Please note that notification light is neither blinking nor getting off. Tried everything which is mentioned here but no luck so far.
Please help.

I had same problem - when the charger was plugged in the notification light shone continuously. I fixed this by opening the set, removing the battery (there are nice videos explaining this in youtube) and recharging it using external charger in a repair shop. Once it was charged for about an hour, plugged it back in, was able to boot normally and charge it normally.
However, since this incident, I have found that the battery life has decreased drastically. I now only have 8 hours of battery life after full recharge, even when I put the phone to sleep. For instance, if I charge the phone to 100% before going to sleep, the battery is down to 30% when I wake up!
Has anybody had this problem?
My Moto G2, when plugged in powersocket, keeps on rebooting from Moto logo screen, but when plugged in USB port of computer can get to fastboot menu and shows battery charging but removing it shows zero. and it does turn on by factory mode and shows the lighting bolt of charging, but is not getting charged. also phone testing menu by *#*#4636#*#* shows battery health is good, but is not charging. can any one help.

Moto G 2014
Dead Battery. No recovery is installed, no system.img is installed. When I plug it in the screen(attached) appears. When I long press power button, fastboot opens, but battery remains low even if I charge for a long time. Unable to flash any recovery.(Error: Battery Low). Please Help ?
Hi there,
so apparently my phone battery died today when my phone fell under my car seats.
tried to charge it at work but only had a charger <1A, thought that was too less because it wouldn't move from the 1% screen.
at some point i noticed it wasn't really charging no matter the charger.. tried some tricks from this and other forums. right now it will display the 1% screen when plugged in but the LED is not lit. i can power it up but ofc with a low batt like that it will vibrate briefly and shut off after like 10-15 secs.
pressing vol+ and power button leads to vibrating 3 times and seemingly soft reset, i can plug it in after that and the LED is lit red for charging, but will stop after like 15-30 minutes (1.5A charger) and display 1% screen again.
yellow switch, do i hold that one down 5-10sec with or without any charger plugged in?
as said, without pressing anything after soft reset now i can briefly press power and the screen shows it's "stuck" at the 1% screen, after being plugged in for like half an hour, after the first 15 mins the red LED went out. i'll leave it like this over night but don't have much hope, think it aint charging without the red LED lit?
any input on how i can reboot this thing properly without loosing any data on my phone is greatly appreciated!
oh and i also read the battery cable/contacts inside can be disconnected.. as said the phone fell down in the car, could that be a problem with the symptoms i'm seeing as well?
quick update, let it plugged over night and in the morning it was still showing 1% and no LED.
unplugged it and pushed yellow button for 15 secs, with no reaction. let it sit some minutes and plugged it again, red LED for some secs, then 1% screen and no LED again.
came back after an hour and it shows 30% charge and boots up!
however, no charging LED whatsoever and once booted, it doesn't charge any more (no charging icon anyways).
turned the phone off again and will try to charge it that way..
still seems strange whatever is going on here.
any input?
I hope someone who knows more about this issue comes by to help you! All I think of to ask is if your phone is maybe only charging when the display is on? I have a GPD XD that won't charge if the display is off, it can be plugged in for hours and the battery won't increase. Found that out with a charger that lights up... so I have set it to daydream when charging and it charges that way. I don't know if this will help you at all, if maybe your device is sleeping a little TOO deep
My phone is stuck to 0% of battery, no matter how much i charge it, it still remain at 0%.
It doesn't show up the battery charge icon, even if it's off, but the charging works because i feel the phone and the charger warm, but the led of charging doesn't show up even if the icon of the battery in navbar changes.
I already tried i clean flash, and now i flashed the last factory image, but the problem isn't gone.
There's another problem, when i shut down or i reboot the phone, it seems to die. It doesn't power up, but after some attempts keeping the power button pressed for much seconds, it finally turns on. Same for fastboot mode.
How did i arrive to this situation? I was running los14, i installed substratum, i applied 4 or 5 themes and there was no problem, till when i had a bootloop. So, i went in recovery and flashed the rom to fix the problem, but when i pressed "reboot", the phone shut down and died, and problems are begun.
One years ago i changed the battery, i still have the old one, should i try to change the battery?
Yes, try a different battery to see if that helps.
I changed battery but nothing seems changed.
It's really strange, the phone runs well anyway, i'm writing with it right now..
It's like the phone can't reach battery status. There's no app that is able to get info from battery.
Actually, something changed; when the phone is off and i plug it in charge, it shows a battery with a question mark
Sounds like the battery charging circuit
