TWRP unable to decrypt on OPM1.171019.016 - Google Pixel Questions & Answers

Applied the update through fastboot and factory images (Less the -w option)
Phone boots into system and accepts my password without issue.
When booting into TWRP through "fastboot boot twrp-3.2.1-0-sailfish.img" all passwords are invalid.
Am I unique or is this a known issue?
Thanks for any help.
Phone: Rogers pixel(Sailfish) 128gb android 8.1 OPM1.171019.016

PITA to remove and re-add mail accounts and fingerprints, but allowed me to get root and ad blocking again.
Thanks for the point in the right direction.

[Q] Un-do Encryption help!!

Long story short....my wife updated my MAXX DE to 4.4 while I was rooted on 4.2.2. This messed my phone up, SO I used RSDLite to flas a custom FXZ file to go back to 4.2.2.
My problem is that my phone was encrypted before any of this happened. Now that I have flashed the system image, I get the unlock encryption dialog screen and when I input my password, it says incorrect password. Now I have no way to gain access to my phone.
Any idea's on how to proceed??
TIA
Now that you're on 4.2.2 again, I believe if you run the non-modified 4.2.2 FXZ it will remove the encryption.
I've seen this before. Try this: http://forums.androidcentral.com/mo...ctory-reset-after-encrypting.html#post3396422

That worked doogald!!!! Thanks man!!!
The command that I ran from ADB was fastboot erase userdata. This erased my user data, to include the encryption of the partition tables.

Locked out Android phone, forgot pattern

Hello,
So as I already said in the title i'm locked out of my phone. I was trying to change it to pattern but instantly forgot with my bad memory so now I cant get back in. I've looked on multiple threads and websites but none of the methods worked on my phone. I tried Pattern Password Disabler but I couldnt get it to flash since it gives me the error installation aborted. I also tried Dr Fone but ADB isn't enabled on my phone. I had remember having ADB enabled before I got locked out but I think its the lock screen disabling it or something like that. Im already on my last attempt to login and I have no idea what else to do.
Phone: Motorola DROID Turbo 2
Android version: 7
I do have a SD card I could use to flash something. The one thing I really do not want to do is factory reset my phone, if all I have left is that is there a way to make a backup and get my data back?
If anyone can help I'll appreciate it.

Actually all it does is just say installation aborted.

Can't get my data after flashing factory image

After updating using factory image without -w key my phone boots until lockscreen appears, then if I will try to unlock - phone will reboot after ~2 seconds, also it shows com.android.phone error. Then it boot to recovery with message "can't load android system your data may be corrupt" and I can choose "try again" or "factory reset".
Updating was from 8.1 DP2 (walleye-opp6.171019.012) to stable 8.1 (walleye-opm1.171019.011), unlocked bootloader.
How to save/decrypt my data? When phone boots I can only touch fingerprint scanner but can't enter graphic key because it even doesn't appear. Flashing DP2 back causes infinte boot with G logo.
I encountered this once as well, what fixed it for me:
-From bootloader, flash the stock recovery back if it Isn't already.
-Download the latest OTA files.
- Boot to stock recovery, and select update from ADB.
- ADB sideload the OTA.
When it's done, reboot, should should boot back into Android with all your data intact.
Edit - For whatever reason the OTA file straightened out whatever error flashing the full imagine created for me.. I don't have the answer as to why, but it worked.

You probably need to flash your phone with the -W then.
I had this happen to me, couldn't fix it until I factory reset.

yep, but I need my data, complicating the situation is that everything is encrypted and TWRP doesn't promt to enter password for decrypt

Under the mount options there should be an option, then enter your code. If you use a pattern, that is also numbered like a phone would be so top layer is 1,2,3, etc.

I don't have that option
Recovery log says
Code:
begin failed, code -62Upgrading key: /data/misc/vold/user_keys/de/0upgrade_key failed, code -33e4crypt_init_user0 returned fail

How to make a Pixel 2 that has unlocked the bootloader must enter a password to boot ?

Pixel 2 , Android 11, unlocked bootloader.
I want to make it MUST INPUT PASSWORD to power on for Data Security.
But everytime it boots directly to the lock screen. My data has been decrypted.
I cannot found any option to achieve that.
Sorry for my poor English.
the data only gets decrypted after the lockscrEEN.
as the new message at boot up says, if you want any kind of security, lock the bootloader.

you can try this by having apps that run at startup, they won't work until after the phone is unlocked.
but your data should be encrypted. go in TWRP, and press cancel on the password screen. you'll recognize all your files and folders, but everything is encrypted. enter the password and boom, everything's decrypted. it's a good idea to leave the stock recovery on tho. with TWRP it's easier to wipe the phone and get a free phone, but with no data.

Bootloop - Find devices closed unexpectly - Data Recovery

HI guys ... i really need your expertise in my options to recover data from my poco phone.
The Poco right now is in a bootloop after login screen. I have about 5 seconds till phone reboots after message "find devices closed unexpectly" appears (no airtel app is installed).
The USB debugging is not enabled and i have not enough time to enable it because i have to wait 10 seconds to hit ok button to enable USB debugging.
I can boot into recovery mode but the mi pc suite is not connecting then to be able to copy data. ADB in recovery can see my device (deviceno sideload) but i always get error when trying to mount filesystem or even when trying to update official ota rom. Right now theres 12.0.2.0 QJGEUXM installed.
I can also boot into Fastboot mode but dont know what my options are in fastboot.
So is there any possibility to enable anything within 5 seconds to make a data recovery happen? Or can i enable usb debugging with adb or fastboot?
- It is also connected to my Wifi in Lockscreen if that helps
- Fastboot can be reached
- Recovery mode can be reached
- device can boot in safe mode also (but still reboots after login)
Please help if you know any possibility without a wipe of the data partition.
Thanks in advance!

yes i didn't give it a try yet cause i was not sure if it really keeps all the data. I read that i also have to change a file inside stock image to prevent my data getting deleted. Is that correct or is that exactly what the option "save user data" does when flashing stock rom?

I tried to flash the ROM with MiFlash but it returns an error "flashing is not allowed in Lock state".
But when i want to unlock the Bootloader with Mi Unlock, it says that all user data will be ersaed. Is there any option to flash anything to this device without a complete wipe of my data?
