Hello everyone hope you can help me.
I did a full flash using fla****now.com on my us cellular note 2 sch-r950 to page plus and I got talk and txt to work but not 3g. I had gotten a USED Verizon 4g lte sim card which was what I was told would work to get 3g, but since it did not work now I've been asking around and people have told me that since the sim is 4g it is not needed to get 3g. That even w/o a sim card I should be able to get 3g but that the 3g on the phone might not be showing. I have also read that you can get 3g only with a us cellular 4g sim card, so I'm really confused.
The phone says "no sim" with the verizon 4g lte sim card so don't know if it read it I could get 3g if what I was initially told was true.... Another thing is that my old Verizon phone has a different prl than this us cellular note 2 and I am not getting service where I used to get service. Question, if I change the prl to the one that my old phone had would the note 2 give me the same coverage? I had my old phone with page plus too, just did the esn change before it was flashed. And if that would work how do I do it? One last thing does anyone know how to get 3g on this us cellular note 2 sch-r950? I really need the 3g working bc I fill my paperwork online.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long post but the better explained the better the help no?
Thank you!

Did you ever get data working? If not, I think I can help.
First did you put in a micro sim (preferrably not Verizon) t mobile att etc... Also you can root and freeze setup wizard to get rid of the "non Verizon sim card" message. Thirdly if your username and keys are wrong HDR an long, PPP and the ha and AAA usernames and passwords, then you will only have talk and text and no 3g data.
Flashing sim card models is tricky. I believe I can help.
If you already have this done and data working, please share what you did so we can learn from each other and share the knowledge wealth for the whole community. Thanks
Bought 955FD myself here in saudi.
Followed instructions to make "cumulative 5 minute call" with middle east/north africa sim: regional unlock.
1st issue: wifi calling available?
Searched settings for wifi calling. Initially something pops up, such as an option but it asked for ?phone number? I dont recall, was too excited about getting ready to pop in sprint sim from edge6.
During this search i was waiting for smart switch to execute bringing files from edge6.
When its all done i see nothing about wifi calling on 955FD.
2nd issue: activating 955FD to Sprint network.
Called Sprint, they asked for HEX gave them the IMEI number, then informed phone is not compatible.
They informed me i could go into sprint store and have them flash the device to place it on sprint's system. But that didnt sound confident. The phone is not compatible but can be flashed.
I was told once before by sprint international they have special sims to be used on foreign devices. But after failed activation informed me the international sim would not work either. I am never satisfied with first tier help/information from sprint.
I am open any advice. Last hope is to switch to TMobile which i read in another xda forum it will work. But i am concerned about the wifi calling mainly.
If you're rooted, then flash the CSC selector and select TMB. It will bring you wifi calling and Volte in TMOBILE, Not sure Exynos model will support Sprint CDMA..
I'm using it in Tmobile.. Mine is G955F

Not rooted. Never tried that before. Trying to stay away from that effort.
Must it be rooted to be used on Tmobile?

As SBR said above, Exynos does not support CDMA. Sprint is CDMA. Your rep was correct.

Thank you. Would them offering to flash the device be worth a try for experimental purpose?
No. The Exynos chip does not support CDMA. That is only in the Qualcom chip. The problem lies in your CPU, not software.
You have two different types of cellular networks, CDMA and GSM. Sprint and Verizon use CDMA while everyone else (in the world) uses GSM.
Kind of just an FYI, in which case your phone will work on T-Mobile, but not sure about the extra steps with WiFi calling (though, if it's on these forums, then you should be set there too).
Will update about wifi calling feature after I speak to Mobile in few weeks upon returning to stattes.
Thanks.
955FD on T-Mobile
After signing up with Tmobile i am 99% all good. Only problem is no wifi calling feature has appeared.

WiFi calling on TMobile requires the TMobile firmware (which isn't available on the 955FD model, obviously).
Even unlocked US phones from Samsung can't use WiFi calling on TMobile unless they flash TMobile firmware.
You cannot flash the TMobile firmware on your device.

So my only option is to use DIGITS app by tmobile. Not bad but overall happy with my choice to buy this model...so far.
A couple of weeks back, I purchased a factory unlocked S8+ Model #G955U1, Baseband Version G955U1EU1AQE3 (The AT&T Galaxy S8+ has different Model and Build #s), inserted my AT&T SIM card and have been using it since. Then I decided to activate WiFi calling, however, unlike my wife's iPhone 7, my Galaxy does not have the option to enable WiFi calling (this option should be under Settings>Connections). After some research, I found out that this a carrier feature which AT&T must provision. When I asked them to do it, they provisioned it on my wife's iPhone 7 but not on my Galaxy, so I called them again and asked them to provision it on the Galaxy. Although they insist that they did, the feature does not show up on under AT&T Devices (It shows up under the iPhone but not the Galaxy). After spending no less than two hours speaking to three agents, I learned that AT&T does not have in their data base the IMEI number of the Galaxy because it was not purchased through them. So obviously, not having an IMEI number, the WiFi calling feature is not going to be pushed to my Galaxy. Not being able to solve the problem, they escalated it to another level who is supposed to contact me two days from now. A friend purchased his Galaxy S8+ through AT&T and the WiFi calling option is there in Settings>Connection and he is able to toggle it on or off. When I used AT&T's IMEI Verification tool, the result was "Device is compatible but we cannot find matching SIM card".
Any and all input would be appreciated.
Same here. Looks like wifi calling is not a feature that is available on the unlocked version unfortunately. Same with using LTE while on calls and built in visual voicemail :/
You have some advantages going unlocked but you lose some things too.

But you can always use Odin to flash the ATT firmware to the unlocked device. There's plenty of threads here regarding this very subject.

True, just keep in mind that future att updates can't be done via OTA - which can be a pain too.

With the unlocked s8+ i've found that wifi calling and volte only worked on T-Mobile, I tried it with T-Mo and verizon. It stinks that ATT cant be more like T-Mo with accepting non branded devices

I am pleasantly surprised and a bit puzzled because when I spoke to T-Mobile Tech yesterday, she could not confirm if WiFi calling will work on unlocked S8+. If I can be assured that it will work, I will switch to T-Mobile.
Please do me a great favor and check if your unlocked S8+ has the same Model and Build Numbers as mine. Here are my numbers:
Model #G955U1
SM-G955UZKAXAA
Baseband Version G955U1EU1AQE3
Thank you.

All the information you provided matched with my phone. As a matter of fact, I also tried my friends SIM who is on MVNO called Mint Mobile that runs on T-mobile network. Mint also allowed me to make wi-fi calling. I am surprised that t-mobile rep could not confirm this feature because this feature is on by default! If I don't want to make wifi calls, I have to turn it off. The only little annoying part is that you get constant notification," Calls will be made over WiFi". Even when you block this notification, it will reappear on the reboot

Thank you indeed for your response. When I got my S8+ and before inserting AT&T SIM, this feature was NOT listed under Settings>Connections. I was informed by a Samsung agent that the carriers will push this feature to the phone through their SIM after they provision the feature. So now since my SIM is AT&T and my phone is unlocked, and its IMEI number is not in AT&T's data base, I don't have the feature listed.
Unfortunately, I can't comment on at&t network. On t-mobile, I did not have to do anything except during the initial setup, I was asked if I was ok to make wifi phone calls when a wifi connection was available & the signal was strong. I still have the option not to use this feature. You may wantvto visit a t-mobile store or find a friend who is on t-mobile network. It might not be a bad idea to reset the phone (after backing up) when you get the new sim card. Good luck ?

I switched yesterday from AT&T to T-Mobile and immediately the wifi calling showed up in Phone Settings as you mentioned. However before switching from AT&T to T-Mobile, wifi calling was not anywhere to be found.

That's because WiFi calling and VoLTE are not available on ATT using the US Unlocked device. You have to either buy an ATT carrier version, or flash the ATT firmware to your current device.
Try to reset to factory defaults with sim inside
I'm on Argentina and with unlocked software i got wifi calling when the device is set up with my sim inside

I found that after wasting several hours with AT&T's techs. The 3rd option is to dump AT&T and switch to a carrier that has wifi calling available for unlocked S8/S8+ phones such as T-Mobile.
Wi-Fi Calling works great for me

Hello everyone, im new here kept searching everywhere for solution for my problem without any success. In may 10 i bought SM-G955N KT module, it was working great with 2g / 3g / 4g / LTE / LTE+, i went out of usa for almost 3 month and when i came back my phone doesn't work well with tmobile, i can send msgs use lte internet but i cant do calls at some areas, some times i have full lte bar and when i try to make a call it goes to 0 signal bar, i called tmobile many times about the issue but no solution i found out that they did upgrades to their towers in the period i was out of usa from may to august, right now i cant use the phone as any normal person its been a month that i cant use the phone at my house and some areas, i can make calls sometimes if im at different tower locations. Question is, is there any solution for this problem since tmobile did those tower upgrades its screwed up everything..... should move out to att or verizon or what should i do. I really need help with this problem its been a month, any solution would be welcome if it requires root or not i dont care i just want to find a solution for this,
Thank you.
Have you tried resetting your network settings and/or getting a new sim card?
Its not the sim card i already changed it to a new one also i tried it on a iphone 7s plus and it works fine, my phone is bone stock no root no custom software alsi its the korean version when i looked around i found that tmobile did some network upgrades from may to aug and thats when my phone got screwed up, i was albe to play with the ims setting and i got the phone to recive calls but i cant make calls, does my phone screwed up because it has the korean csc and the stock firmware or whats going on here
I'm not quite sure I understand your experience. From what I am reading, you went to Korea, got the G955N (which I bought for both myself and my wife), and then came back to the states and can't get it to work with T-Mobile?
I tried to get mine to work with T-Mobile and have experimented extensively with different CSCs and ROMs.
I eventually went over to AT&T
I've also had a rather extensive experience of how to get 4GLTE working here in the states with AT&T.
Feel free to reply here or DM me if you wish.

Hello thanks for your input, actually i bought the phone in the box brand new from amazon, it came here on may 10 i used it for 7 days 4G LTE 3G works great then i had to go out of country for 3 month i came back at the end of august to find that tmobile did a huge tower upgrades in my area, since i came back i wasnt able to do calls and receive calls, i was only able to text and use LTE internet but not calls, i went to different towers area and i actually was able to make calls but not in every area because some times my signal bar goes down to 0 or even 1 signal and i cant make calls still but my other friends who owns iphones or usa version of android works fine except me. Yesterday i edited the IMS setting im still on stock fw and i enabled every single feature there and i was able to receive calls in my area but still i cant do calls, i wanted to make sure if im gonna follow the steps here in this guide i will be able to use TMOBILE CSC with the korean stock firmware and get the features of tmobile as VOLTE and WIFI CALLING etc with the right CSC for sure and without tripping knox
Thank you
Hi, I did some extensive searching and was not able to find a solution for this.
I've got the SM-G955N, and ran into the same issues as other users in this thread with T-Mobile, has anyone found a workaround to unlock the LTE bands necessary to make the SM-G955N work with T-Mobile?
I didnt find solution yet too, i dont know what to do i gave up i tried everything on the official software no root.

I had a phone with the Korean CSC as well, N phone as well. I left the CSC alone and it worked with T-Mobile and ATT here in the US just fine, last fall.
I later changed the CSC to XXA, and still works well. Just tested it this week with T-Mobile, and it's working. I have to say, that locally, T-Mobile has much poorer spot area service than ATT. Kinda puzzling, but that is the way it is.
My phone is rooted, so it make things a bit more handy to mess about and return to my previous setups.
Got my AT&T variant today. Doesn't look like eSIM funcationality is enabled. Second IMEI and eSIM shown but greyed out and no way to activate. Is this true? If so, does anyone know if unlocked version allows for eSIM use so you can get dual sim? I need dual SIM for both US (AT&T) and international travel (Singapore).

Really? Why put the eSIM in if you're just going to disable it?
well that's a bummer. Hopefully someone will come up with some firmware or we'll see a country release the 4G version of the phone that will work in the US and support dual SIM. I do, however, use wifi calling a lot and right now the iPhone seems to be the only choice that can be AT&T wifi calling compatible and dual sim.
Thanks for letting me know - i also had an order for the unlocked variant that I will cancel.

Pixel 4/4XL unlocked versions (as well as bought thru AT&T) will do Wi-Fi calling and HD Voice on AT&T (sometimes requires a little work on your part to bug AT&T).
Also, I cannot find anyway to do Wi-Fi calling on the Flip, let alone HD Voice, though it is perfectly clear with calls I have made so far.
I bought the ATT version of the flip so getting wifi calling. I didn’t think Pixel 4 was dual sim? Before various bans, I had decent luck getting HD voice on Huwawei phones but never WiFi calling unless ATT firmware (or iPhone)

Typical AT&T treatment of BYOD with regards to Wi-Fi.
Pixel 4's are physical SIM and eSIM.
Basically you can (if you find a tech who can/will) provision the account with an IMEI that supports those features, and your SIM is current, it will/should work. My 4XL is currently set up like this (and previous Pixels as well).
Thx didn’t know about the pixel 4 - I did the same thing with IMEI numbers. I bought a cheap galaxy phone from ATT for the sole purpose of having an IMEI that shows ATT. It won’t help WiFi calling which needs firmware support but has consistently gotten HD voice to work. Hopefully a different variant of the flip will show up with dual sim support that can be used on the ATT network

Slightly off topic, but if you have a minute, could you post where the setting(s) for Wi-Fi calling actually are (if there is any), I'm curious to see if they are on mine (I can't find any as of yet).
Thanks.
It gave me the option to setup when I ran. Y hone setup. It’s all under connections in setting or you can search setting for WiFi calling. I believe this is only available with the ATT firmware

I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something obvious, and yes, seems its only on AT&T branded device(s).
On the unlocked version, I was able to access the hidden SIM manager menu using Activity Launcher and enable the second SIM. However, even after doing so, it doesn't seem that I can do much with it.
I saw same you can see it but it's not really enabling it (under about phone, esim is still greyed out). I bought a European Version of the phone that is supposed to have dual sim enabled and is arriving tomorrow - I will report back if I can add my AT&T plan to the eSIM and use my SG SIM card on the second line and how it works. Even if I get that to work, i will have to give up wifi calling (since not an AT&T variant of the phone) and usually - Samsung pay doesn't work (but usually google pay does). i will report back. Love the phone but without the ability to use 2 SIMs, it will sadly be doing back.

I thought that the Wi-Fi calling piece was becoming more universally supported, regardless of variant. I have the unlocked version and Verizon Wi-Fi calling (and HD calling) are both working.
Hi, I got one in Czech Republic and the dual sim (eSim/normal Sim) dual standby. the setting for eSIM are under Connections>>Sim card Manager, there should be a section with eSIMS and you select 'add mobile plan' (in CZ you scan the barcode of the eSIM thats provided by the operator). Wifi calling is in the phone app under call settings and can be activated for both sim 1 and sim 2 at the same time
I got the UK version of the phone. I have an AT&T phone number on an eSIM and have the eSIM card (with the QR code). I removed the plan from my old device (a Galaxy Fold Dual SIM I bought in Singapore that worked fine with both SIMS) and then tried to "add the plan" onto my new flip. I scanned the QR code and get the message "Your mobile plan is already being used on another device. For more information, contact your service provider.: I called AT&T and advanced tech support added the new IMEI's(both physical and eSIM) to that number on their end but still getting the error. They were at a loss for a solution. Any ideas on how to fix this? Really love the phone though useless to me without the ability to use an eSIM for my AT&T number.
BTW, yes to calls over LTE (VoLTE) with AT&T SIM on UK variant of the phone and, not surprisingly, no joy on Wifi Calling
You need a new QR code from ATT. If you are using an older QR code it wont work.
Are both SIMs 3G capable?

I gonna buy the UK model and so I can use both my personal and company numbers on one phone.
My company's number is nano sim and the supports 3G and 4G
My personal number is esim and supports 3G and 4G
Neither my personal nor company number network support 2G.
I read somewhere that while Z Flip is dual sim, one of the sims only support 2G. is that right? Can anyone confirm it?
went to AT&T store, moved my old esim (galaxy fold) to a physical sim, activated and tested on physical SIM then converted it again to eSIM (new QR code). Worked! Had trouble going from eSIM to eSIM but converting to physical SIM in the middle of the process (something I read on another forum) fixed it.
