Until Android N i have used Pure Calendar widget to sync my events with google calendar.. With Android O this widget (other similar wodget too) doesn't sync right events.. The only working is google calendar widget, but it hasn't many options.. anyone faced same issue?
Yes. I also don't have my calendar syncing.
I use chronos calendar and it's not getting my calendar info.
i don't know if it's an Oreo bug or Emui..
i have no issues synching but all widgets I have dont work after 24 hrs they just keep loading but nothing happens, only defualt widget works, I think is an Emui problem not oreo

reading online, it seems an oreo bug... until now, no solution
Business Calendar (whose widget isn't updating) says it is a known EMUI bug. They also said that Huawei is aware of the issue, which was caused by trying to fix something else. Changing the screen resolution causes the widgets to update.

i have seen this bug on one or two forum on diff sites...but there has been no hard answers...so here goes nothing
i have cm7.1 (not sure if that's relevant or not) and am using launcherpro plus...on milestone
all widgets work fine except for gmail. the gmail widget just sticks on "loading"..with nothing popping up in the widget. i have cleared the cache (after force stopping both the gmail and launcherpro apps)..rebooted and every combination thereof..
is this a known bug? i haven't seen anything consistent in either the cm or lp forums about it...is there a work around or option i am not thinking of?
Go to Lancherpro.com and you will find answer to your question. Author quotes -
----------------------------
The API that LauncherPro uses to access your Gmail messages (used on the Gmail widget and the Gmail dock notifications) is being removed in the next version of the Gmail app for Android 2.2 and higher. Apparently the API does not meet modern security standards.
What this means for LauncherPro users is once you update to this new version, your LauncherPro Plus Gmail widget, and LauncherPro Gmail dock notifications will stop working, and even potentially crash the launcher if you try to use them (I don’t have access to this upcoming version yet, so I cannot fully test it).

So lets wait till new API is in place.
Hello everyone, the HTC Sensation is my first smartphone and I've had it for about two happy months. However, just today, it flashes the message "There are no calendars selected" on the bottom of my screen. I then go to check my agenda, and it doesn't show. Also, when I try to edit a task using the HTC calendar app, it FC's. I did not do anything to immediately cause the issue. (As if I were to delete a file, I would experience the repercussions right away. Not the case here)
All of my events are still visible through the "Pure Grid Calendar" widget, but not through the "Business Calendar" agenda widget.
If the fix were to require a phone-wipe, is there any way I can save everything so that my phone shall be exactly like it is at the moment, aside from the issue? (Progress in games, song ratings, etc)
Thank you for your help.

you can use an app called titanium backup to help you save your applications. you wont be able to do a backup of your current state without the issue because you dont now what the issue is. Titanium backup is going to be the best best for you so you can re-install your apps one by one to narrow down your problem apps. I personally think its Go Launcher. i hate secondary launchers lol, after wiping i would install app quarantine from the market and use that to "quarantine" apps such as stock browser, set up wizard, just apps you dont use so they dont take up ram or become active in the background. just something to think about. let me know if this helped
Yes, that will help me out when I need to do a wipe. However, I just can't reason why the launcher could cause the issue. It started without any recent change to it.
I did recently add the Pure Grid widget, but that was two days ago. Could be related.
I think the launcher trying to use its own built in apps could conflic with stock apps. Idk just my beliefs lol. I've never had a successful secondary launcher. Something like that always goes wrong. But to each his own. Just try delete a few apps that you have suspect. Reboot after each one and see if that makes a difference before you take super wipeing measures. You never know it could be something simple
The issue becomes more interesting still.
I went back to HTC Sense and the Pure Grid Calendar widget continues to work while the Business Calendar widget states that no calendars are selected. However, the HTC agenda widget shows all the tasks, while the HTC calendar widget does not!
The one thing I did like about sense was the smoothness and finished feel. But I need the customization of something like Go Launcher. If I can solve this issue, I may go for a new ROM that can do that: Go Launcher customization and themes with Sense smoothness.
Thank you.

SENSE 3.5 allows you to customize the widgets and has a nice feel. Most users stick with it because of the flexibility that your thinking. Maybe think about trying arhd 4.1.6
I have the same problem. The difference is that I know it isn't the luncher. I deleted on purpose my calendar app, but i also deleted the calendar sync app and now I can't use any calendars. Anyone know where I can download the original calendar app and calendar sync app?
LG O2x @CM7.2 KANG
The same problem just popped up on my phone. I have not added any launchers... I do use the business calendar app, has anyone found a solution?
Hey guys,
Got a question for you all regarding the Calendar Agenda Widget that comes standard with Sense 4.0. It used to sync with my Google Calendar and with Facebook to display information on people's birthday, and on the phone dialer when I was calling a contact it would display their profile picture and latest status message from Facebook. Now it's not.
The calendar agenda widget, and dialer is not displaying facebook information. I really liked this feature.
I'm using CleanROM 4.5 RC1 Lite.
Anyone have any suggestions as to how to get this working again? I have the Facebook account in my "Accounts & sync" in settings. Is there something else I'm supposed to do?

I have been messing around with several different ROM's over the last 2 weeks since getting my phone. I have installed various versions of CleanROM and Xi40. At the time of the post I was running CleanROM 4.5 RC1 Lite, and it's never worked since installing that version of the ROM. Since then I have wiped and flashed CleanROM 4.5 Standard and it seems to be working now. So something missing from the Lite version is stripping this functionality out. The reason I tried the Lite version was to test battery issue's I'd been having with Xi40.
As I said, I'm on CleanROM 4.5 RC1 Standard now, and it's working. Today will be the first full day on the ROM and I'll see how battery lasts compared to the Lite version. If it's just as good then I'll keep it. If not I may flash my backup of 4.5 RC1 Lite back on as this feature isn't a huge deal, it's just nice to have.
Hi all,
I have had my Nexus 5 phone for a few weeks now and I love it.
Before that I owned a Galaxy S2, running on CM10.2 with Dorimanx Kernel with Nova Launcher.
I really love the N5, it really is a beast and answers most of my expectations.
However, I have recently been confronted to a problem : my homescreen widgets are not syncing/updating anymore...
Not much of them though :
- Beautiful Weather 4 x 2
- Stock Agenda 2 x 3 redimensioned at 4 x 3
- Today 4 x 2 redimensioned at 4 x 3
Before that I also tried on my N5 : Dashclock + Widget Locker and some extensions for Whatsapp, Google Music, Hangouts, Gmail, etc...
Lockscreen widgets worked fine and were correctly synced and updated.
I have noticed that my homescreen widgets are only updated once : when I set them up or when I turn on my device. After a few seconds they stop updating. Even the update button in some widgets does not work.
This is really annoying as I really like my N5 and this is really bothering me.
I have searched through all the web and through the forum and I have not found anything useful. I have tried uninstalling all these apps and reinstall them. I have tried installing them one at a time and it does not work.
I have seen your N5 homescreens in the forum and it makes me jealous as they are really looking good and rely on synced widgets.
Has anyone got a clue ?
Thank you all very much.
Marc
Hi all,
Just a quick update : I have installed Nova Launcher 2.3 Beta and all my widgets seem to be working fine in Nova Environment. Well synced and updated.
Has anyone kept the default Nexus 5 launcher (Google Experience) and observed the widgets are not syncing ?
I have tried to reset the Launcher by going into the app details and stopping the app and resetting the cache and data. It still does not work.
The weird thing is that I seem to be the only one experiencing this issue as I really have not found the problem stated elsewhere. Or maybe for other devices and particular widgets but I have tried all the solutions and none worked.
Are you running Google Experience on your N5 and are you having these issues ?
I do like Google Experience feel and is there another way to reset it ?
Do you have any clues on how to debug this ?
Otherwise, do you know where I can post this problem and find help ? Is there any Google support for this Launcher ?
Thank you all so much for your help !!

Same issue here...
EDIT
After fighting that problem for 2 days without any luck (tried restarts, reinstalled beautiful widgts, widgetoid etc.) the problem is gone now after posting yesterday into this thread.
Nice.
The only thing that changed since then is that i deinstalled tapatalk - but I can hardly reproduce the problem or solution...
Really a small chance but maybe the OP has tapatalk installed too?
Hi licht,
Thanks for your feedback though you are right, I don't know how I can reproduce your solution.
And by the way, after a successful day on Nova the problem has appeared on Nova now !!
So I guess this isn't launcher related...
There is a pb with Kit Kat somewhere...
How could I debug this ? What is the process responsible for updating home screen widgets ?
Thanks to the community !
OK I've had this problem too.. Very occasionally.. But it's happened in holo launcher..
A restart fixes it..
And I do have tapatalk installed too though am not sure it's related

Hi letmedanz,
Thanks for sharing.
I have done the restart, of the widgets, of the launcher and of the phone...
I just don't get why it works and then just stops working...
I wish I could find the process responsible for the update and my monitor it.
Thanks anyway.
Having the same issue, i guess it's only a few of us. Have you tried reflashing stock img? i might give that a go.
Actually, on Nova it runs just fine. I think I'll just keep Nova. I'm too lazy to reflash...

Hmmmm don't care for nova, unnecessary memory usage. I thought you said earlier it wasn't a launcher issue?
Will try to solve it tomorrow, perhaps it is as simple as wiping cache? Will keep you guys' updated.
You are right to point that out because I thought it was also not t refreshing on Nova. But it actually did, and for some time now it runs fine.
Thanks for trying it. I'll be checking your results in here.
The only modification i have done is installed AdAway other than that i am stock. Oh i also have gravity screen off installed.
I found out I had this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=spinninghead.talkingstopwatchlite running in the background still doing a timer, so many hours! =]
Exited it and now my widgets refresh. Can anyone explain how this app would get in the way of the widgets updating?? =\
problem solved
My nexus 5 block sync all widgets:
The solution is, deinstall phone weaver!
Sören
What is Phone Weaver ? Is it a specific program ? Because I don't have it.
I thought it was the stopwatch app i had running causing widget freezes, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Widgets are still refusing to refresh. Will flash 4.4.2 (clean install) hopefully that helps.
Issue is well documented here http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=28216
See if this works for you guys https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/nexus/uu27aDrcwFs/9L9JRo6kXqkJ
Vladimir Vakhromeev
I've found solution which works for me. I hope it could help others as well.
all that I did is ran in CMD:
adb shell am start -n com.google.android.setupwizard/.SetupWizardTestActivity
after this nexus asked for locale and name again. Then I've put back my widgets.
I had no problems about a week.
Please, notice that it could be done at your own risk!
I tried the above and it seems to be working so far. Post your results =]
So i have found a temporary fix without needing to reboot.
I used https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.systempanel.r1 to kill all processes and tasks, the widgets start to work! The bug will occur again most likely.
Now when the bug does occur again i just have to go kill the process/task 1 by 1 to figure out which one resets the widgets, probably google search (launcher)
This must confirm there is conflict with ram! any insight?!
Anyone figured out a solution that does not involve booting, restarting the phone or manually running an app? that is no permanent fix. and this is extremely disappointing.
I've been experiencing a loading/freeze issue on all calendar widgets I have for some rrason they stop working the next day I enabled them, only way to make work again is remove then and add them. I noticed this behaivor right after Oreo upgrade on my MHA-AL00. anyone experiencing same issue? I have enabled all permissions in my calendar apps but nothing changes, not sure if there is a hidden menu for widgets permissions
Are you using the stock launcher ?
I have this issue with Nova launcher on Nougat

using stock one (emui 8), tried different widgets ended using stock one for agenda and has been working fine, will start testing again in the upcoming days
Business Calendar says this is an EMUI bug and that Huawei is aware of it.
let's see when they decided to give us a fix for it
