I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 (Sprint). I've never rooted any phone before (I'm coming from iOS, don't judge me). I've jailbroken my past iPhones but I have no idea how to root an android device but I'm interested in rooting my phone. What do I need to root my phone and is it possible to root my phone. I'm running Android 7.0. My phone's model number is SM-G950U. My software version is G950USQS2BQL1 and hardware version is REV1.0. Any help please?

Can I ask for any step-by-step on how to root my Galaxy Note Edge N915F with Android OS 6.0.1?
It would be my first time rooting my phone.
I have been trying to root before but I always fail and keeps bricking my phone, also I want to try those great custom rooms and it needs to be rooted, I'm really sick of Marshmallow OS.
This is my build #: MMB29M.N915FXXS1DQHA
Please I really need help on this. Thank you!
I need to root my Galaxy J3 Luna Pro on TracFone. It runs Android 6.0.1, but Samsung says a Nougat update is in development for it. If possible, it needs to be without a PC. Kingoroot is known to work on the app, but not for me.

Were you able to figure it out? If so, please explain how.

Ok so I have a U.S. Galaxy S8 SM-G950U (Sprint)
Android Version: 8.0.0 (downgraded from 9.0) Android Security Patch Level: July 1, 2018 Baseband Version: G950USQS5CRF5 Build Number: R16NW.G950USQS5CRF5
This model doesn't have an unlocked bootloader and after doing a couple of days research on the net, it seems impossible that it can be unlocked because it's Snapdragon.
I really want to root this phone with TWRP recovery and SU Superuser or just another variant that allows me to install SU Superuser.
I've seen reports on XDA Dev that it's been figured out for S8+ but for S8 it seems the OEM unlock is still needed.
Can ANYONE help? Is there any way of rooting this model at all? A link to a step by step guide would be great or any advice/info you can give.
Thank you!
Don't know if you have moved on, found out the answer or are still interested in an answer. I'm not anyone with much of any knowledge about these types of things but I have an s8 and had it rooted. So the short answer is YES IT IS POSSIBLE. Good luck with your endevours
Is your S8 snapdragon? If so what version are you on? Im on Android 9 Pie with snapdragon. I would love to be able to root
I got the same issue, samsung s8 Sm-G950U unlocked from Sprint i got no idea on how to root it first and then unlock it for any carrier. OEM unlock is not active on Sprint devices and i think this is the key to successfully get the phone rooted. Any suggestion would be appreciated for that specific type of phone and carrier/ Thanks
. I am a newbie to Android OS rooting.
I have a Samsung S6 that used to be used on an AT&T account and I want to use it to do an experimental change to a newer and simpler version of the Android OS. The phone is not being used at this time, I am now a Spectrum subscriber.
I have installed Root Checker Pro and it reports the phone as a SAMSUNG SM-G-920A with Android version 7.0 and as not rooted.
My plan now is to use the Free-Droid - Rom installation assistant from this thread to do the rooting and OS change.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/rom-installation-assistant-t3944831
If someone could suggest a good choice for a custem ROM that is known to be good on the S6 and well tested it would be very helpful.
And any other suggestions would be appreciated too.

I recently learned that the Samsung S6 (SM-G920A) I am working on here is probably a locked and unhackable device. I had chosen to use that as a learning project because I had it on hand and it was not in use on an active phone service account at this time.
So I am marking this thread as "[SOLVED]" and am no longer pursuing getting a custom ROM on the Samsung S6 (SM-G920A).

I have a rootable s6 edge att verison for sale, jack. Are you interested in this special edition s6 edge?
Hi, I'm new to the board so please forgive me if this has already been asked. I lost some important videos on my phone and read the only way to really have a chance to recover them is by rooting my phone. However, I have been unsuccessful so far and I think it's because my phone can't be rooted but I wanted to double check. I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 through Boost Mobile. The model is SM-G930P and the software version is G930PVPSACSF1. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated!
