Fastboot closes right up because ur are double clicking on it... U should open a command prompt by open file explorer where fastboot.exe and the factory image (stock rom from nvidia) is located on ur pc, press right mouse click and SHIFT at the same time. On the drop down menu choose: open command prompt here. And there u go, u have a command prompt that will recognise the fastboot and the name of the files.
Now put ur shield in fastboot mode, plug it to ur pc.
Now start the commands from a tutorial to go back to stock for the shield tablet.
And lastly... If u dont know how to go back to stock (aka use fastboot), u shouldn't try flashing roms or even use twrp... IMO.

You've made a number of basic mistakes that were completely avoidable. For your benefit, it's time to learn some lessons (the hard way in this case) before proceeding:
Wiping everything in TWRP was not a complete "accident". You deliberately (probably carelessly) ignored the message in TWRP "Wipe" section which tells you the default wipe is the only wipe you need most of the time. It says this for a reason. The default wipe (data, cache and Dalvik) is all you need for a "factory reset" in 99% of cases, and keeps the OS intact.
So you went into the "Advanced" wipe options. Again, it's called "Advanced" for a reason. This term implies that you shouldn't be messing with these options, unless you have some "advanced" knowledge, and know exactly what you are doing. You shouldn't be wiping anything, if you don't understand what it is, or what the consequences will be.
Another basic best practice: always make a TWRP "nandroid" backup before messing with anything. If you did that, you would have a backup of the stock ROM to easily revert to. It's the first thing I do after flashing TWRP. Now, if you truly wiped "everything" in TWRP, that would include internal storage and SD card, which would means your TWRP backups are also gone. But all the reason, to follow the advice I gave in the previous paragraph.

Neither do we. At least not without any detailed info. Don't just say "it didn't work", as that doesn't tell is anything. This is almost certainly pilot error, and easily fixable. Provided you give us some info. How far did you get flashing Lineage? Did it flash successfully, or not? If not, what were the error messages? If it flashed successfully, then exactly what happened next? Stuck rebooting on logo screen, or it booted but apps force closed?
Did you flash a gapps package right after flashing Lineage (which is required)?
What version number TWRP?

If you search NVIDIA's Download Center, you will find the recovery image for this device, which includes instructions on how to install it.

You need a warning message telling you that wiping system . . . would wipe the system?
Makers of TWRP assume that anyone using TWRP has some basic knowledge and would take some care before wiping things, especially in the "Advanced" section. And that even if you had no OS, you know how to restore it.

So i'm looking for a little help.

and I have this : [RECOVERY][TF300T/TG] TWRP 2.5.0.0 Touch Recovery! [2013-4-9] on there as well
but I can't remember if this was part of the unlock/root/flash process or not, so i'm not sure if it used it during the process or if I added it shortly afterword
now its been while since I have done it but then the tablet started to restart randomly while she was using it.
so I figured no biggie maybe an app got messed up or something, and so I told her to back up her pics, exc she wanted off the unit
and I could look at reinstalling the apps or just taking the unit back to factory rom
about a week later it started to reboot more often randomly
and now it is to the point where it will not make it into the rom
now I can make it into the boot selection where I can choose RCK (for the TWRP), USB, or the other 2 options
and I know I can make it into the TWRP tool as well and it does not repeatedly boot from there, so i'm sure its a rom issue and not a hardware issue, but I could still be wrong
the unit is currently charging so I have not had a chance to try for the usb connection option or anything else yet
hopefully the usb option will work so I can try to recover the pics, exc before taking the unit back to factory
now in the process I know I have unlocked the unit, I believe I have done the min root but have not fully rooted the unit if that makes sense
so i'm just wondering if I will half to fully root (and how do I do that if I do since I can't make it into a rom)
how do I clear the rom that has gone bad
how do I install a factory rom (how do I tell which is the lastest rom, and which one is needed for my unit)
and then I should be good from there
if you need any more info please let me know and maybe some instructions on how to get to that info
in the process of putting the energy rom onto it, I spent a week of reading, researching, and figuring out which way would probably be the safest for me to do, plus the easiest for me to understand
now that it has been so long I have been reading and researching again, I just need that nudge that gets me in the right direction
i'm sure i'm not the only one that has had this issue with a rom, and i'm also sure there is a guide out there already that goes over how to put it back to a factory rom

Lol okay. Theres actually a more simple way.
1. Download the latest asus firmware.
2. Extract the zip file
3. Flash it like a normal rom.
If you cant use this method then you'll have to use fastboot. Here's a link but if you need any help, just ask : http://www.androidauthority.com/transformer-pad-tf300t-restore-stock-firmware-108016/
how do I check the sku according to that guide if i'm not able to load into the android os
that only shows if you can load into the os
would the box have that?
or now looking at the options that I should assume its is a US sku lol

Its simple lol. When you download the firmware from asus, its usually in a .zip form. In it, there is another zip file. Copy that zip file onto your tablet and flash it with twrp.

Yes. You have to do a factory reset first.
and how do I do that lol, and what happens when I don't do that first
is this tablet now dead since the step of doing the reset was not complete? cause now I can not access twrp and it just sits there with the asus logo and the swirling dots
when I try to access the usb option all I have is rck, android and wipe, rck just gives a failure shortly after trying

If you want to use twrp, download the us stock firm ware. when you open it, you'll see a file that looks like this: "US_epad-user-10.6.1.15.3". copy that file onto your tablet and flash it like a normal rom. haha
For fastboot, if you have the android sdk, then you already have fastboot so you dont have to download fastboot again.

Hey Guys. So Some of you may know towelroot was just released by Geohot. I went ahead and tried it on my G2 runing stock 4.4.2 and it WORKED! I ran root checker after running the apk and it said I have full root level access. You just have to download SuperSu from market afterwards. I downloaded root explorer and was prompted with the prompt to grant root and all was well!
Link to original post: http://tinyurl.com/pykqkpt
1. Go to http://towelroot.com/
2. tap the logo for apk
3. Run the apk and follow directions within
4. After phone reboots, Install SuperSu
ALL DONE!
A side note, I haven't tried using rom manager to install custom recovery as I'm not sure if we've found a button code. If someone is willing to help me with that Id be grateful. I can't afford to brick this phone as it's my only phone work work and play.
AWESOME.
Can anyone else confirm this before we try? any bugs?
And how do I go about installing TWRP recovery (or any other suitable recovery)
All is working fine, flash twrp recovery with autorec app by cloudy.
As a side note, please donate to Dev if you can. I know i did.

too late I used a autorec and actually got the phone to TWRP. I then proceeded (stupidly) erasing everything and wiping the device because I thought I'd be able to mount it and copy the CyanogenMod file I wanted.
Boy was I wrong.. TWRP did not allow me to mount the device to USB. And for some reason I couldn't get the right driver to install in Device Manager.
At one point I decided it would be a good idea to restart, now I'm stuck at boot loop and I can't get back into TWRP. I tried holding power+down, that forces it to restart a bunch of times. I held the UP button but that puts it into FIRMWARE UPATE mode which also doesn't allow ADB
How do I get back to TWRP? how do I flash Cyanogen mod through ADB
Any ideas please?

Hold vol down + power button until screen flashes black followed by lg screen release buttons and quickly press both again and hold. It will boot you to a white screen asking you if you want to fully factory restore...press power to agree... Since twrp replaced factory recovery it will not wipe but instead take you into twrp...takes a couple tries sometimes... You need cm and gapps packages on your internal memory to flash through twrp
If you wiped everything you will have to start over by flashing the original firmware again. It happened to me too because I didn't have the ROM I was flashing on my device already. I used this guide, http://youtu.be/Lg693AYgoTo, to flash back to stock JB, then upgrade again. Just be sure the rom is you want to flash is on your phone since USB won't work. It's no guarantee though, esp. since there is that driver error.

Nevermind I forgot you can choose files from computer when connected...but yeah...may need full restore...there are a few step by step threads on here to do so

Thanks for the quick response. The main reason I want to experiment with nightlies is that I want to be on the cutting edge of all of the possible features implemented in the new versions. Also, to my knowledge, CM11S is the same as CM11 only with a light few added features. I would just like to know how to do it so that if I want at any time, I can do it (assuming you give me correct instructions lol).

Next, download the latest nightly/milestone and some google apps, and you can do the other stuff while these download. So, go to developer options in settings(if you don't have it, go to about device and tap on the build number near the bottom about 8 times or whatever it is and enable advanced reboot. After this, connect your phone via USB and hold the power key and reboot to bootloader. After that, open command prompt (I'm assuming you have a PC and not a Mac or Linux) and type the command "fastboot oem unlock" this will make the phone like new and unlock the bootloader. Once it reboots, skip through the setup and once again enable advanced reboot and then reboot to bootloader. Download a recovery, I recommended twrp and once it has downloaded, open command prompt again and type the command "fastboot flash recovery" don't press enter yet, drag and drop the file from downloads and into command prompt and then press enter. It will show progress and eventually show "DONE" and once this is complete, use the command "fastboot reboot" and copy the CM11 nightly and Google apps zips to the internal storage via USB. After this, hold power and press reboot then reboot recovery, not bootloader, your phone will reboot and show the Team Win logo. Tap "wipe" and choose "advanced wipe" and tick "cache", "dalvik cache", "data" and "system" then tap the wipe button. Do not wipe "internal storage". Once it has wiped everything, go to install and choose the CM nightly and flash this, then the same with the Google Apps zip. After these both flash, press the "home" key, not "reboot system" and go to wipe once again, advanced wipe and tick all the boxes except "system", after this you can tap "reboot system" you should boot into CM11 if my instructions were thorough enough. If you want any help, just ask. I'll be here. Sorry if there are any grammar mistakes, I've typed this all on my One and my thumbs now hurt, I'd appreciate a like but I'm not begging for it. Good luck [emoji4].

I actually haven't tried CM11 official nightlies, I just expected CM11 to not have the official camera (CameraNext) and I thought it might not have the screen off gestures and OnePlus One specific mods. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks to everyone!
Thanks guys! WIll try and see how everything goes! Appreciate the help!
Quick n00b question: Let's say I install a nightly today, will there be an update for the one for tomorrow? Or do I have to manually flash it?

Usually, since its the OnePlus One, there's a nightly every single day and An M build every month. There's a built in "cm updater" in settings so its easy. I'll always be here if you need anything .

You might want to skip the 10/27 nightly. I've heard it has issues with the sensor from multiple people. Once you manually flash the first nightly, all can be updated manually though you can set the cm updater (in about->cyanogenmod updates) to check for updates at a set interval, and have it notify you when a new nightly is out. Then you can download and flash it directly via the updater if you choose. Downloading the zip manually is also an option. The CM updater doesn't check nightlies by default though.

You don't lose any functionality at all. It's actually more up to date than CM11S. It doesn't have the CM11S camera but you can install it easily. It has all gestures.

I didn't know that! Thanks for the info. How's the battery life vs CM11S though? Every ROM I've tried (with stock kernel) has nowhere near as good battery life as stock.

I get better battery life on CM11. I'm running official Nameless ROM (not on XDA) at the moment and get fantastic battery life with their stock kernel (which has excellent features for a stock kernel).

I just used this to update to the CM12 nightlies. Phone was already rooted, so I had to selectively apply what instructions I needed, but it worked a charm! Thank you!
Also, when I booted up to CM12 it noticed that I had backed up my phone... Does CM recognise when there is a nandroid backup on your phone and load up the data by itself? Because if so, that is so freaking useful.

It isn't recognising a nandroid backup. Android has a built in backup/restore feature, in order to restore apps it downloads them from the Play Store. Restoring a nandroid backup across different ROMs, and especially across different Android versions, would be disastrous.

It's all good man. I'm here to help.
Hey everyone. I rooted my Honor 8 yesterday using the following guide: https://www.xda-developers.com/honor-8-root-twrp-and-xposed/. Everything seemed to work fine at first, but soon my Bluetooth refused to turn on at random and apps constantly crashed (either on startup or when switching between them). It got annoying very quickly and after searching for hours and not finding any real solution, I decided root wasn't that important to me and I'd just unroot my phone and then hard reset. After using SuperSU's unroot function, my phone turned off and rebooted. But when it got to the blue screen with the honor logo, it froze. Nothing does anything. No matter which buttons I press/hold down. It's just stuck on that screen. I'd love to take out the battery, but with these new phones, it's sadly built in (who ever thought that was a good idea?). It's been this way for close to an hour. ADB doesn't recognize it anymore. The only way my PC seems to recognize it at this point is through the Device Manager, where it shows the yellow warning sign. Under Properties > General it reads "This device cannot start. (Code 10)". I've tried a few different things but none of them have worked. So this is where I'm at now. I'd hate to lose this phone since I just got it three months ago. I would really appreciate any sort of help, because I'm grasping at straws.

Sorry, I might not have made this clear, but I can't even turn my phone off. It's literally stuck on the blue screen (how fitting). The model should be 51090QMF, but I don't know what you mean with the last part.

My bad, I just looked it up on Amazon (where I bought it) and it said model number. This should be the real one: FRD-L09. The reboot worked, but it's still stuck on the honor logo. At least we know it's not hard-bricked now.
EDIT: I was able to get into eRecovery. Should I just press "Download latest version and reecovery"?

I bought my phone from the German amazon site, so whichever one that is. I'm sorry, but I don't quite understand your system question. I used 7.0 if that's what you're referring to.
Rommco05 said:
Now understand so your model is FRD-L09?(32Gb ROM)/L19?(64Gb ROM)C432(EU)
So when phone rebooting u still se message your device is unlocked nad cat be trusted?

Yes, the 32GB one. And as I said, I was able to get into the Huawei eRecovery. I'm guessing I should just hit "Download latest version and recovery" at this point, but I was waiting just to be sure.

You have still unlocked bootloader?
Try this:
1.create dload folder on inter. storage or sdcard
2.unzip zips which I here posted
3.put uziped separately to float

I do still have unlocked Bootloader, but at the moment I have no way to use it. My PC (ADB included) doesn't recognize the phone.

holding vol up just brings me to the eRecovery menu, where I can't do much. I'm not sure how much of twrp is still on my phone. Before I tried to unroot, all of it was.
EDIT: Sorry, never mind. I got into TWRP.

I'm just gonna go back to not having root after this, haha. It was just something I wanted to try, I don't need it that much. I did a factory reset and will now get my most important data back on my phone (thankfully I have a backup). Still, thank you so much for your help. I don't know what I would've done without you. I "Thanked" all your posts here, which is the least I can do.
First I tried restoring a backup using TWRP and it didn't work. Then, I tried flashing Android P using TWRP twice to both slots and I booted the device and now see this "Your device is corrupt. It can’t be trusted and may not work properly." likethis
I ran "flash-all-partitions.bat" and "flash-all-partitions-fastboot.bat" files from the android P fastboot zip file from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/how-to/rom-stock-fastboot-roms-oneplus-6-t3796665 and android p starts and runs successfully but I still see the not trusted error message at start of the device. How can I get rid of it? I even tried to wipe the phone from within oos android P.
Nevermind. I searched more and found someone who said I have to run MSMD tool.
fixed it by using this thread

Has anyone tried this? Hitting power twice allows me to boot when I see this message but I'm suck of seeing it. I want a solution that doesn't delete data.
Do you have twrp? try flashing another kernel, smurf or something, i remember it happened to me a year ago, and it got fixed after i flashed another kernel

I had already tried by clean flash. But the issue remained. Finally I found solution in other section, which I posted here.
