I've updated my Mate 9 MHA-L29C185B188 to Oreo 8.0.0.321(185). And in the 'About phone' section it reads EMUI and Android versions as 8.0.0. But the Build number still reads MHA-L29C185B188.
Is this normal?
I've tried to get into twrp but it gives an error message.
I’ve tried to recover using HiSuite ut no luck getting into twrp..
8.0.0.321(185). This is beta version install 8.0.0.360
31.01.2018 is final version

Hello there,
Last week I received via OTA the latest version of EMUI. Build: `NRD91M test-keys`. I thought the update was succesfull as it hadn't show any errors but today I see that bluetooth is not working. I made a restore defaults and it continues without working. Anyone here had the same problem?
Hi
I have the Same issue. Did you found any solution?
I was also unable to put the hihonor rollback nor firmware on it - Installation stuck at 5%.
mine was rooted before OTA upgrade... maybe the root issue?
FRD-L09 with NRD90M test-keys
Thanks for help or hints
same problem seems that it's happen to all people that unlocked there bootloader and rooted there devices if anyone have solution please tell
yay - after few weeks with a bricked phone I was finnaly able to fix it:
- installed rollback "FRD-L19&L09, from Android 7.0, EMUI 5.0 to Android 6.0 EMUI 4.1, C900B300" from hihonor.com
- installed "FRD-L09, Android 6.0, EMUI 4.1, C432B131" from hihonor.com
- normal over the air update to 7.0 back again - Done.
I'm not sure if they had changed those update.app files or my SD-card (fancy 10class 32GB - stucket at 5%) - this time I used an older 8GB sdcard which works like a charm...
greetings
I have read so many posts and I am unsure what it is I have done to my phone but every time I update it to Nougat 7 / Emui 5.0 it is always on NRD90M Test Keys.
In TWRP I often get unable to mount Cust and or Data and sometimes Vendor.
I have rolled back to MM and tried the Charles Method. With Charles Method it rebooted the upgarde from MM but again it was NRD90M.
When in MM the build number displays correctly such as 122 or 162 but as mentioned every time i upgrade to Nougat it always says NRD90M test keys.
Other notes, I have once flashed RR and Lineage on this phone and it was successful. I also may have flashed some boot or other similar files to partitions but cannot recall and anyway I have formatted data, relocked and unlocked and repaired file system and still have had the same issue when it comes to EMUI 5.0.
I am in Australia and do not receive OTA updates but have use FF and Charles method.
Any help would be appreciated as it has been weeks and weeks of trying this.
Thanks and from memory I do remember at one stage all was fine and I was on build number 320 or 360 and then flashed Elite Kernel which did not work and did not allow me to boot.
Anyway, please assist.

Just flash the rebrand.zip it will get you back to stock recovery and stock OS. it will be MM but then you can update to N :victory:
I bought my son a second hand Mate 9 last February for his birthday and all is well, the phone works perfectly and he is delighted.
We were talking about software yesterday and when he might get the 9.0 pie update. It turns out he hasn't even got Oreo yet and his phone is still on 7.0 and is on February 2017 security patch!
When you search for update on the phone there is nothing, In Hicare there is nothing. I used Huawei Firmware Finder and can see a number of 8.0 updates and a couple are compatible with his phone. I have followed the app instruction method to download and install, but no joy. When I follow the process the last step is to go back to the phone settings and check for update but there is still nothing showing.
Can anyone help?
He has a Mate 9 MHA-L29 Dual Sim variant.

I used a force update with a modified hosts for Windows and modded hisuite, unfortunately I can't find the link anymore but it's here on xda somewhere.
The procedure is you download firmware Finder in your phone, find the latest firmware that is approved for your phone, then click update via erecovery, and the modded hisuite will see it and update your phone
hisuite now can update till 9.1
I have downloaded softs from photos, on phone I have the latest pie 9 (with the possibility of returning to the previous version of pie but only one below). Which version of oreo 8 should I write to make the return to 8 work?

you can only flash firmware of the same revision of bootloader as the one youre currently on. For instance, the latest firmware release is A530FXXU9CTA2and the breakdown of the firmware is as such A530F (model number) XX (country code, XX is Europe) U9C (bootloader version) TA2 release date and version. The reason this is important is because the bootloader is where youll get stuck. If you can find an android 8 firmware set withthe same bootloader, youre good to go, but if not, youre stuck.
FWIW, youre stuck with a minimum of android 9 on your device now that you have the 9 bootloader installed. In the past, sammy has released android versions that use the new bootloader with the old version of android, theyve caught that now and id be shocked if you were able to find an Android 8 firmware with the U9C bootloader.
Youre stuck man.
Hi guys
I wanted to update the phone to Android 10, but seems like officially there is no such update for this model (MAR-LX1M EEA C431)
However, on FF, i spotted an update to the EMUI 10 but it's for the C432 despite the build model name it's the same I got (L21MEA). So my question is: It's possible to install it without any risk of brick? And also, Should I make a backup of the oeminfo?
Btw my phone it's full stock so no unlocked bootloader or root whatsoever
Open app 'Support' and in there click 'Updates'
There is no Update thing in the support section oh myHuawei
Also even if I check Hisuite and the software update it says the phone is at the latest update (9.1.0.426)
