Custom Rom - Honor 8 Questions & Answers

Hi, i like to flash custom rom on my Honor FRD L02 indian model as there will no Oreo update anymore... But i am confused as the installation instructions for all Nougat ROM says to flash RROS first and then flash the ROM.. But to flash RROS, it is required to have firmware B385.. but for Indian model B350 is the last update... Can i go ahead and flash RROS on this firmware or can i directly flash other ROMS without flashing RROS first..??

The page for that ROM does mention support for L02, but I wouldnt take the chance. Posting in that thread may get you more visibility from the developers than making a new post.

firmware quiery

hey bros ! can i know what is this FIRMWARE update in oneplus one ! i saw many ppl on various rom thread saying im on latest firmware , some saying im on lp firmware ! can anyone tell me what that is ? and how do i know which firmware im on ? thanks
You can tell by the numbers in your baseband version in settings/about phone. Most aosp custom ROMs on marshmallow need to be on the latest LP firmware, where cm13 mm has updated firmware. Any early LP ROMs won't work on recent firmware packages.
There's a roll up thread on it in the dev section. Worth reading up if you flash your device

latest firmware update - help

i've just got my opo back after a long time not using it because of broken screen.
i need to update it to MM rom and i want to know what is the most recent firmware available.\
i found a firmware zip from the 01/02/2016, is the a newer one?
Tnx ahead!
Here is the latest official Rom for the OPO.
https://cyngn.com/support
It is still Lollipop, there is no update to Marshmallow yet.
If you still want to have Marshmallow you have to unlock the bootloader and flash a custom rom.

Hit Like If You Liked My Work
Enjoy Folks !!
If you love your device dont flash any firmware on it, firmware stays on your phone even after fastboot back to stock MIUI rom. Only way to remove it is to flash stock rom in EDL mode. Trust me i installed firmware once it had bugs and too good i knew what to do. So if you love your device i repeat dont install any firmware doesent matter who told you . All custom roms should work without need to install firmware if developers ask you to flash firmware to your phone before their rom dont use their roms. Thank me later Cheers!

Nope. @Daks023 is right. These are developer firmwares meaning bugs are well received in them. I would consider before flashing.

latest China Oreo build 536

Hi guys.
Does anyone know if with the latest Oreo beta the are problems in rooting after installing?
Or is it better to flash India build 510?
I'm asking because I heard about the "patch" released recently and most probably included in latest version.
Thanks. I need this info before updating from Nougat.
no problem. on latest honor 6x BLN-AL20 Firmware with 8.0.0.536 no problem. just use elemental rom thread recovery and latest magisk.
Thanks mate
Well, tried to download but files in mega seem disappeared. I sent a msg on telegram and on XDA to the developer ... No reply yet.
Which files? If you talking about Oreo files you can find them in Firmware Finder. Just search BLN-AL20
I was following the thread and telegram directions of elemental ROM because I see I have to download even a kernel.
Moreover I was looking for elemental ROM Itself which is not simply the Chinese version.
The ROM is buggy. Has several issues. Most prominent is it doesn't boot on start. No one has managed to get it to boot. KingOfMezi is working on it
Ah, ok.

How to go to OpenKirin

Hi everyone,
I m a little confuse and when I say a little, I mean a lot, about the way to go from a L29C432B582, unlocked bootloader to a ROM with EMUI 8 to Openkirin. I read than oreo isn't available for L29, so have I to flash a Chinese ROM, or something ? Some help could be great. And why not make of this tread an how to for all firmware versions to go to openkirin, but I can figurate this just by myself. Does anyone know my path ? And could you please explain the way you have proceed to go to OpenKirin, or even and other Oreo Rom, from where you come to where you are now. With link to the thread and files you had use, lot of link seems dead. It could be really helpfull for a lot of us.
I will still try to find a way by myself and update this thread, but any help would be really appreciate.
I had think in a first place I had to go to a stock rom, for reach the official update, but if I can't have the EMUI 8 for L29C432 it will be a dead end.
Best regards
You will have to debrand your phone to the chinese version of mate 8 in order to update your phone to oreo. You have the thread with all the instructions in the forum. If you dont do this, you wont be able to flash any open kirin roms.
This is the thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/general/discussion-oreo-huawei-mate-8-t3785320
Hi,
Thanks Leverkusen
Did you make this ? What firmware have you ? Did the update could be done OTA ? Do I have to paid for DC-Unlock ?
