This is the easiest and convenient way no PC needed..
Just download the app Network Signal guru
Link-( [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.qtrun.QuickTest&hl=en) or search in Google
install ,open and grant root permission ..
Then from the top right corner tap the three dot menu.
Select Lock Band
Select LTE for 4g Bands(It will then show a list of bands your current network provider is using)
Then select the desirable frequency And reboot..
Thats it.. If you are facing slow lte speeds then you can select the intermediate band to minimise bandwidth limitation in your area..
According to my observation the modem uses the lower frequency as default... and during downloads switches to the maximum frequency band..
So use intermediate bands like 1800MHz(Band 3) For more consistent Speed if You are facing speed issues.
Thanks very much, I've been looking for this for long time. I live in rural area and only B40 of Jio 4G gives good speed but it has less coverage still I use it to download at better speed. I wish I could do the same on JioFi 4G modem.
Thank you once again.
Latest free version no longer has lock band option.

Hi guys, just to know
You need the 2.8 version (you can find it on Aptoide) to lock the band. With the last version o play store it wasn't possible for me.
P.S. Currently using 2.12.0

On Xoaomi Mi 9T (MIUI 12, Android 10) with Magisk v21.1, I cannot get NSG to run anymore.
It shows Testing and N/A forever
Two months ago, I had a little bit older firmware (but also MIUI 12, Android 10) and it worked fine, but on Magisk v20.4 and v21.0
Tried couple of older versions of NSG, the same.
For NSG 2.8.0 it displays that it is out-of-date and doesn't run
I've updated to 2.12.0 and it's working but i'm on Android 7.1.1. Maybe these versions are incompatible with the latest android releases.

I'm curious too. I currently own a MiBand and everything works fine.
I think we'll have to wait for Android L which supports Bluetooth LE unlocking.
Currently, it works with a Tasker profile, though it's often a bit slow and can take up to 5-10 minutes untill it realises that the Miband is there / not there. On the other hand, if it's security you're thinking about, it may be a solution.

For now there's no solution for truly proximity-unlock as in MIUI.
But for other phones only near solution is Xposed-module No Lock Home (all other apps non-functional for reasons).
It will to enable secure lock-screen if no connection with bracelet e.g. you lost phone = distance over 10 meters.
When Mi Band connected in module settings once tap "plus" icon > Bluetooth (MAC address)
This will fill MAC-address in field below and auto-locking will work.
Experiment with other settings too and don't forget to donate to author of module.
Maybe sometime he will add unlocking based on signal strength from band as in MIUI: I posted feature-request.
Did no lock home work for you? I thought it didn't support bluetooth le?
Currently i'm using tasker profile but it's sloooooow
Will this work if we use MIUI ROM?

What makes you think so? What additional features or improvements does B522 offer over B514, or for that matter on B511?
For me B514

B514 is definitely the best. A lot of bugs in B511 were fixed. The B522 is the worst IMO. A lot of features were removed/missing.
Eg. No huawei Swype keyboard. No 5x5 layout and so on. The only positive thing done on B522 is that the android security patch level was updated to 1 March 2016. Like seriously, who does that even help?
For me b514 is the best...I m using since release this version without any issue...but its also depand on what version u want to upgrade on, like I update on B324 official lollipop version, I recommand do not update from beta mm one...first find out which lollipop rom stable for ur device then update on it...

i noticed b522 have the additional secondary security permission, which give you control over apps that wanted to launch other apps. for example facebook want to launch twitter in which we can denied. i think this is major

4G only option is useless. Why? Well because you CANNOT make or receive calls if your network provider doesn't support VoLTE. Only small number of providers support VoLTE.

I beg to DISAGREE with you. Actually, the '4G only' option at least for me and many other users of the dual SIM feature of Mate 7 TL10 is very important for those who live in areas with weak 4G/LTE signals. Some networks have very good 4G/LTE data packages but not very good 'call and text' package. That's one of the main reasons for us in choosing the dual SIM Mate 7 TL10. My data only SIM is always on '4G/LTE only'. The '4G/LTE only' setting ensures that the connection stays there in most areas even if the signal is weak. Yes, I will not be able to receive calls in that data SIM but I don't use it for that. I use the 2nd SIM slot for my 'call and text' SIM which is a different network with superior 'call and text' package compared to my first SIM which is much better in providing good 4G/LTE package only. It's the best of both worlds actually, and not having a '4G/LTE only' as a choice is a BIG DEAL breaker for me and for most other users who live in places where the 4G/LTE signal is weak but very fast while the alternative 3G option has strong signal but is horribly slow. The 'LTE/WCDMA/GSM auto' setting will not cut it for us because it defaults to the slow 'WCDMA' signal most of the time when the phone senses the 3G signal is significantly stronger than the LTE signal.

---------- Post added at 09:11 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:58 AM ----------
I have a Mate 7 TL10, and I've tried all 'TL10 compatible' flavors of Marshmallow on my Mate 7 TL10: B511 beta, B512, B514, B522
1. B511 - beta software, still has the camera bug (effects preview is scrambled);
YES, has option for 'LTE only/4G only'; Android patch level: Jan 2016
2. B512 - similar to B511 but camera bug is already fixed; NO option for 'LTE only/4G only'; Android patch level: March 2016
3. B514 - similar to B511 but camera bug is already fixed; YES, has option for 'LTE only/4G only'; Android patch level: Feb 2016
4. B522 - similar to B511 but camera bug is already fixed; YES, has option for 'LTE only/4G only'; Android patch level: March 2016
The best Marshmallow for my TL10 based on my experience with all 4 of the above is B522.
It has the camera bug fixed; has option for 'LTE only/4G only' (not like B512 and ALL Lollipop firmwares),
and has the latest Android patch level: March 2016.
However, some bugs are still not corrected. 'Status bar apps' like 'date in status bar' which are supposed to display the date
in real time do not display the current date; only the app icon is displayed. Also, the 'download' icon is 'static' rather than 'animated'.
I noticed that in the Mate 8 on official marshmallow firmware, the same observations are also existing... So I guess 'Huawei'
considers both things 'features' rather than 'bugs'... possibly to mimic IOS?
The 'hide navigation bar' option can be enabled if you downgrade to lollipop/kitkat first and enable it to be 'hidable' in those
earlier firmwares before upgrading to any marshmallow firmware. However, a factory reset after the update to marshmallow
will cause the feature to be lost again. I guess it is another 'feature' rather than a 'bug' because I also observed that in Mate 8
(on official factory/stock marshmallow firmware); the navigation bar is not hidable in any way in the Mate 8's stock marshmallow
firmware. You have to root the mate 8 to enable the navigation bar to be hidden. At least, for mate 7, we have an option to hide
it even in marshmallow - no root required. Just don't factory reset after that.
Also, I hate it that Huawei disabled multiple accounts in its official software. Multiple accounts were offered since Lollipop and it
is one of the very useful features of android. You can have more than one account with each account having its own wallpaper,
apps, photos. No longer will you have to worry about kids rearranging icons, accessing your phonebook, affecting your games progress,
etc. It's like the multiple user accounts in a Windows PC. Cheap smartphones have it so I can't understand why you have to root
your mate 7 to have the very useful feature. Again, Huawei probably likes to copy's IOS' shortcomings and call them 'features' the
way Apple does on its phones.

Huawei should work harder in software department, it's very confusing for users.
Multi user is still available on marshmallow. You just need to edit your build.prop and add the following lines
fw.max_users=3
fw.show_multiuserui=1
Save and reboot

Curious about 5G and eSim. Have you tested either?
I've got a nice long 3 day weekend, starting now. So I'm going to give this a go and run it through its paces to test 5G, Wifi speeds, Bluetooth connectivity with watch/headphones/car, smart home control, notifications, various apps I frequently use etc.
Will report back soon.

No 5g in my area, and my Verizon anyways doesn't use esim.
Initial thoughts...
No issues discovered, yet.
- Wifi speeds are on par with the February Android 11 build (see screenshot)
- T-Mobile 5G speeds (Boulder, CO) are also on par with what I was previously seeing (see screenshot)
- No issues sending/receiving texts/phone calls/Emails/Slack messages
- Bluetooth connection and functionality with my Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Watch Active2 are solid
- Google Smart Home device controls are working (HUE lights, Nest cameras, Google Home Hubs, Nest thermostat etc.)
- Camera quality for photos & videos don't appear degraded
- No noticeable stuttering or hiccups (yet)
Still need to test:
- Android Auto
- Battery life
- Longer term snappiness/smoothness (this tends to degrade over 1-3 days on previous developer previews I've tested)
Side notes:
- I was able to enable the developer flag for the new One-Handed Settings UI but I'm still trying to track down the flag to enable the new larger brightness slider layout.
- Possibly a placebo but notifications tones are much louder/crisper than they were on Android 11 (even at the same volume slider setting). This was a persistent annoyance I had with Android 11 that I attributed to the new speaker setup of the Pixel 5 vs my previous Pixel 4.
Do you did new install or updated ?
@sn0warmy Thanks, great review. Boulder 5g sucks. Denver by Lodo has the high speed one and some other areas nearby. I'm really wondering if we will get eSim + physical sim and 5G. As of now, even though there is a commit that has been merged, we only get 4G if we use both sims. It's obviously not a hardware limitation and I'm not sure why it hasn't been pulled into a monthly other than they are waiting for 12 to enable it.

38mbps is plenty fast for me when I'm away from the house. Though, I will say that 5G signal in this area is definitely hit or miss. I often find my signal falling back to LTE when I'm out and about.

Finally managed to flash magisk to pixel5....
However I am only able to boot the patched image (fastboot boot boot.img), if I tried to flash the image(fastboot flash boot boot.img) it won't boot saying "failed to load/verify boot images" which means I lose magisk every time I reboot.
I am fine with that although it's not perfect.
BTW exposed doesn't seem to work for now and the safetynet-fix module is bricking my device.
I ran into my first bug. If I try to change the notification tone in any app other than 'Phone', notification settings force closes. So I'm stuck with all the default notification tones for everything except the system wide default notification tone and ringtone.

Yeah 38 is very decent. Have you tried it with 4G for comparison? I have dual sim so I only get 4G unless I temporarily disable a sim. When I test the 4G is faster. I agree, it will improve once they start rolling out mmWave.
All functions of Android Auto confirmed working.

Hi,
I've got several devices with VoLTE/VoWiFi capacity (like Xiaomi mi 9T Pro, OnePlus 8T, Xiaomi Mi 9 SE, Google Pixel 3...), but that are not supported by my carrier (Orange France). They only allow it for the devices on this list, according to tests they performed in their lab to ensure there aren't any issues to register them on their network :
https://reseaux.orange.fr/famille/appels-wifi
However, the other carriers in France I tested (SFR and Bouygues Télécom) are allowing these devices to have VoLTE/VoWiFi (I used both sim slots, and I have LTE data access on both. It's always the non-Orange SIM which can make LTE or Wifi calling).
Does someone know how to fake my device model in a carrier perspective ? I tried Device Faker plus and Android faker (on this thread : Android Faker) Xposed modules (on different LineageOS versions with Magisk installed and Riru/LSXposed loaded), but it's quite hasardous to make any random changes, without being sure which one could be effective to change.
Thank you in advance if someone has a solution !

If the carrier doesn't support the device, there is nothing you can do.
No, sorry, I didn't find anything. It seems all you can do is related to play store, and so on. I was able to fake my phone model to be able to install certificates from my company (for emails sync, through exchange), but that's it. It seems it's handled directly by the chipset, and you won't be able to change that within Android.
A year later, I'm on the same boat. Is there anything new around this?
I've spend some days with testing GSI on my device. It's now my daily driver. Here's a small guide:
1. making a clean install (Odin) and unlock the bootloader
2. flash TWRP as recommended
3. best ROM I've found is SuperiorOS_v414-arm64-bgS-slim-secure_20220611
(https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/wiki/Generic-System-Image-(GSI)-list)
In PixelExperience the fingerprint scanner is not working and with CherishOS I had some issues
4. I've used GSI-Flasher to flash the image in twrp (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ung-galaxy-a51-super-partition-image.4216083/)
5. Then: factory reset, reboot and all done
6. for Magisk you can unsecurize through phh settings
What is not working:
- can't get 5G, VoLTE and WiFi-Calling working (but I can live without it, because Samsung OneUI is too much overloaded for me)
- S-Pen: I never use it
- Zoom over 10x
- automatic brightness (I use velis autobrightness. Works perfect)
What could be better:
- haven't found a good GCAM yet. I use this one: GCAMGO_3.3.439_SHAMIM_V1.apk
- the sound is fine, but could be louder and more bass
Attached some screenshots and phh-settings
Video record sound is still broken?

Excellent, thank you very much, were you able to test if Android Auto works in the car with the multimedia connected?
small research guys:
best of tested GSIs is now CRDROID, everything`s working and battery life is 9-10h SOT, with heaveier usage, no gaming, maybe it will be 12-13h, will report, but the most important, IDLE drain 0,5-0,8%/h,so over night i am loosing just 5-7%(8h of sleep)
I have also compared log errors in tested GSIs and CRDroid have just few sometimes, other GSIs were hot while using and charging or using on Sunlight.
What is not working on anz GSI is AUto brightness.
First started with:
SPARK OS - FP, face recogn working, battery good, gmail crashing
ARROW OS - no customization
AWAKEN OS - same as SPARK OS, Wodproof or maybe another apps cant connect with Google login
CORVUS - a lot of customization, GMaps not working, after 3-4 installations for few hours, in AA is overheating and discharging, not usable
SUPERIOR - not so much customizations as SPARKS or AWAKEN OS or CRDROID, PIN unlock only with OK button
CRDROID - for now best one.

thanks!!!
Does anyone know if this process will work with the SM-S9080 (the unlockable snapdragon vers)? I have that phone in the mail as we speak, but the ability to run pure android on the Ultra is my dream device and I would turn around and grab the exynos version when I can.
sims functional on crdroid?
Work on Samsung S22? Not ultra
UPDATE: I would like to confirm that this process *does* work on the S9080 with the crdroid GSI and the snapdragon twrp. Sim card, Wifi, lte data, fingerprint, and front/rear camera work, but probably needs a modded g cam to get good quality photos.(which I have not tested any yet).
Obviously I will not flash any exynos specific mods
