Xperia Tipo camera

Hello,
I know that tipo's camera its kinda sucky.
But...., it's this image quality/settings normal? it looks a little bad imo, photos on nearer objects work better imo.
Which camera software do you tend to use? (any setting suggested for this kind of photos? daylight and from far distance).
Thanks,

you can use Lomo Camera
Apparently if you use the lens from a laser pen over the lens of the camera you can improve the image quality.

camera quality decrease

Did anyone notice a camera quality decrease lately (maybe since the update)?
My pictures are really grainy and the camera is very slow sometimes.
Not really sure about the quality, but I definitely don't like the new camera ui compared to the ICS one.

photo question

I
Want to purchase this device and i qould like to is the camera as bad as said in all the reviews your opinions are greatly appreciated
Main camera - Meh.. Great
Front camera - Epic... BAD
Main camera, good in daylight, not so good in low light conditions. Photos have a yellow-ish tint. Front camera is bad, but you should not expect much in the beginning.
thank u all very much

Can u please post a low light shot please I need a decent cam and I really want a Sony
If you want a decent cam get a more expensive Sony As I said, good enough in daylight, not decent enough in low light conditions. This means that if the photo quality is important to you, this cam will not provide it in low light (with ot without flash). I think the phone is great for the price, but I don't care much about the quality of the camera as I use it very rarely.
thank u

I think I made up my mind then
The camera got better with kitkat, but it's still nothing impressive. If you want a good camera, get a camera. Or pay way too much for minor upgrade in quality by buying a high-end phone.
Like a said in my review, Sony always made great cameras, remember very well of my X10 and Arc ,great cameras. Im very disappointed with M2, both cameras are terrible, dunno why they did that. I would never buy M2 if i were a photographer.
The camera itself (=sensor) is fine, what isn't are the post-processing settings. Just look at these photos:
Example 1: 4.3 stock app | non-stock app
Example 2: 4.3 stock app | non-stock app
All of them taken with an M2, but the non-stock app is clearly superior; not oversharpened and no weird noise (like ex2, upper left corner)
In my opinion, the camera has a problem, if there are light and dark olayes in the picture. An darker daylight room with an window. In this situation, the pictures are getting realy creapie.

What is this non stock app that you are using, please share how you set it up
@boro111: i'm using this one. I like the fact it offers saving to "raw" (.png) format, it's also the only one i saw so far that gives you control over the sharpness parameter, which i set to 0.

Xperia xz dual sim, camera noise

Hi All,
I am still experimenting my new xz dual.
I noticed that the pics taken by its camera.. When u zoom in, there is noticable noise in the pictures and not what i expected at all from a phone advertised as a camera with an additional phone ?.
I am coming from samsung galasy s6+ and the pics looked better when it comes to the details with the zoom in to the picture.
So.. What do you think.. Is the problem with my eye? And what is the best settings for the xperia xz camera?
It is on nougat.
Thanks
Use manual settings.

Thanks... but can you elaborate more? like camera resolution settings, what to enable what to disable.. extra.
When you use 23 mega pixel sensore and use F2.0 with 24mm lens, you can't catch light very well.
Test this:
When you take picture out-door and middle of the day, XZ shot better than S6,S7,Pixel etc
Because you have bright environment and G-lense can get all light. Little noises and more details.
Set you device on 23mp (or 20mp for landscape shot)
When you shot in-door, better set you device on 8mp!
* NOTE: Google Pixel take amazing photos, why?
Smartphones can't compete with expensive DSLR camera in optical area. Use big pixel+less pixels is the real solution! (or make a giant camera like Nokia 808 and Samsung Galaxy camera).
Sony must learn some thing are more important then number of pixels! (and new flagship, Xperia XZ premium have 19mp and large pixel!!! Good for you sony)

Test different mode, iso, shot speed, resolution, etc yourself and finding better model.
i had xperia z,z2,z5 and now xz and i can confirm that its definetly far better then predecesors maybe z5 compete a little bit...ill share u my xperiance xz camera....i always use 20-23mp for landscape pictures because it captures more details but only if there is enough light outside... if there is low light i always use less MP so in my case 8mp and i play a little bit with shutterspeed and iso thats it...but dont expect XZ to have same lowlight shots like sgs7 does(i had one) ...s7 is simply the best in the lowlight area cuz of camera lens and pixel size... u cant have the best from both worlds
Sony update camera app...
You find app inside apkmirror
1-faster launch
2-slow motion mode inside maine UI
3-fix little lags when change between front and back camera
4- a little better focus and little noise when shot in-door mode
Bad thing: you can't install that like normal app install. Device must be rooted and apk inject /system/priv-app
I test updated camera... More test and shoot share soon. Post update soon.

thanks for the info... and will it be included in a next update for non rooted devices?

does the XZ2 have the same camera? how is it better then?

ive seen camera specs both are 19 MP (f/2.0, 25mm, 1/2.3") so how come XZ2 has better quality?
ive seen a video comparison in low light, its not that the XZP is a lot worse or bad at all, but xz2 does seem to have a brighter video, more realistic with the light it captures through, plus when the guy zoomed in to the max the xz2 could maintain a lil more details, which is weird because both phones have the same camera...
Is sony planning on releasing a similar camera algorithms in the next update?
if not, is it possible to make our XZP camera look just as good as the XZ2? Since they both have the same camera.

The camera hardware is identical, the software isn't. Sony tuned the processing and algorythms a lot, the image quality difference in general is noticable, and in low light it's massive. Both still and video.
You can have the XZ2 camera app on the XZP, but you have to root it.

I doubt Sony will update the XZ lineup with the new camera software, at least not soon, because they need to sell the XZ2 lineup, and the camera is a great selling point, if not the only one, compared to now a lot cheaper and still brilliant XZ1/XZP. Maybe we see some improvements in 8.1 or Android P, but I highly doubt it.
I was always amazed how rarily a company such as Sony updates the actual camera app on their phones, you'd think it would be a major focus feature.
I understand that it's not only the actual .apk that's different, probably some drivers as well and what not, but if the main hardware (and most of the surrounding hardware) is the same or similar, it shouldn't be a difficult thing to upgrade older devices.
I've asked Sony about this, still no answer. In the same mail I also asked them how come there is no option to lower the framerate of the slowmo video down from the 960FPS so that you could take longer slowmo videos. 960FPS is really cool, but almost unusable, let's face it, unless you plan the shot for half a day and everything is just perfect and still you won't get it the first time arround.
Not only has the same camera, but I'm pretty sure that the idiots from qualcomm just renamed the CPU flag as snapdragon 845 and enabled 4k60fps in drivers, which Sd835 is very capabile of. Also has 400 MHz more speed, bleah!
