Download the factory image and extract the boot.img

That would be the best way for sure, but atm i'm on 3g and not at home...

Is flashing the recovery sufficient.. Or one needs to flash other files too..

[email protected]%%#&, first tried all kernels here, old andropluskernel (all links dead), 78 kernel, advanced stock, elite kernel, to flash rooted ftf for kitkat and nothing worked, all give black screen, but this one works. FINALLY! After 2 days of flashing when my S7E glass broke. Thanks so much!

i had all files stored on my hdd and uploaded some on my mega drive. Good thing i didnt delete all. I still have the z3 and i use it so i have some files incase these things happen glad it helped

it is hard to find some files and i cant remember where i found them but i got lucky on some of them. Like you sadi most links are dead and no one updates them.

Thanks for the updated link. Am i right in thinking this is a working custom recovery for the z3 D6603?
Does anyone know if this will work on stock kitkat?

Yes this advanced kernel (with TWRP inside it) is for kitkat 4.4.4 23.0.A.2.93....I guess whether D6653 or D6603 can use it.
