I'm going to postpone this update I just wanted to see if anybody else had problems with update

No problems. My phone takes a tad longer to wake up than before, but nothing wrong. Also, please delete your duplicate posts.

Serendipity 7 Bug

Hello all, not much of a poster, would normally just read (been around for years), but when you PM the creator of the ROM and he tells you to post a thread seeking others with the same bug, I shall do it...
I loved 6.4, tried to hold off on 7, but i had a few days off....
7 install went perfect from the website... Then first call, screen goes blank. (A common bug I had read in other 2.3.3). I can live with that bug... But, always, 10 seconds into a call, I can no longer hear the other party, wether on internal or external speaker. Caller can still hear me. If I wait long enough, I can hear again, well for a minute or two, then it will stop working again, like the phone is muting the other end. My mute does not work and still says video call, something the other 2.3.3's do not...
No issues with Skype, the old hacked version still works, so I made it threw the day.
Last night, I tried some other 2.3.3's out there, just nothing compares to Serendipity...
Briefly went to cm_captivatemtd_full-20.zip last night with galaxys-bootloader-JVB.tar and talens in the PDA.... The phone worked... So I know I can get to 2.3.3 I just can not live with out some of the features in Serendipity. Then I reflashed s7, then reloaded the galaxys-bootloader-JVB.tar and talens in the PDA, and she worked for 3 calls, then back to error....
I did read about one other person having this issue 3 days after he installed S7, but can not find that post now. So for MikeyMike, any one else have this issue?
Now for me, is there anyway I can remove all the phone files from cm_captivatemtd_full-20.zip and transplant into my s7? Or maybe it is a different modem file (what I know nothing about).... My little 300 ohm micro usb I made is still holding up, so I am game to try anything....
For now, heading back to 6.4, it just simple was perfect...
Thanks in Advance.... Allen
Whatever you're on that works, toe *#1234# in the dialer and it will tell you what modem you have.
It'll be under Phone.

There are ROM-specific stickies in Q&A for just these kinds of posts. Please use them instead of starting new threads. And always do a search before posting.

You have to have 10+ posts to post in the Dev section.
This sounds unfortunate. I flashed S7 on monday and other than the well documented battery drain bug of Gingerbread, I am having no problems. Phone is more responsive, battery life is better (when you catch the bug and restart the phone). I am very impressed with the build. The CRT screen of animation gets some looks.

But not to read and download from it. And the sticky in Q&A is open to all.
Not really fun
I installed 7 after using 6.4 sucessfully. After I got thu, I lost my root. The buttons at the bottom did not work the same as befor and whenever I am connectec to my computer It says connected to Kies and to use the home key to get out. NOT, So here I go off the install 6.4 or something else.

[Q] Freezes / Goes to Lock Screen / Status Bar is Wiped Clean / No Service

So as the title states my phone has been doing this lately and i am unsure why. This will happen when my phone is just setting there and i am not playing with it. It will also happen when i am in the middle of something which is frustrating. I want to say this happens 3-5 times a day that i know of.
Phone Info...
Verizon
Rooted with stock ROM
I deleted some bloatware apps that was said to be safe
I also deleted some files so i do not get OTA updates anymore hmmm...
I cant remember when this started happening but i am assuming i brought it upon myself lol
Freezes / Goes to Lock Screen / Status Bar is Wiped Clean / Has No Service / Then back to normal in about 20 seconds???
If anyone is experiencing the same thing i would love to hear a fix or even an explanation of what it is?
Let me know if there is any other information i can give to make this easier to answer.
Thanks!
Yeah, it's a spontaneous hot reboot. Happens to me once in a rare while too but I've yet to figure out a pattern behind it.

Awesome!... well not awesome but i am glad you share my pain. May I ask... Are you rooted?
Yes. Running CleanRom 2.5. But I haven't noticed a correlation of the hot reboot issue to any ROM. Had it happen to me in Beans and also even rooted stock. Didn't have unrooted stock long enough to know if it happens there.
I was only stock for like a week or so and i don't remember it happening then but according to this forum i found people say it has happened while completely stock unrooted...

I have deleted some apps i guess ill just wait and see, no one seems to know what causes this...

[Q] Is this Samsung Galaxy s forum?

I think I posted this in the wrong place a few minutes ago and can't figure out how to delete it. I am still not sure I am in the right place but here is my problem:
I have been using this program for a while now and really like it but today it is stuck and thinks it has vm when there is none. It reminds me every 3 minutes and I have tried clearing the data from the phone, rebooting the phone, taking the battery out and then replacing it and uninstalling and reinstalling the program and nothing is getting rid of the 3 minute warning. If its going to go on forever like this, I will have to uninstall and look for a program that is more reliable. Please help, hopefully now, because I can't wait 3 days for ran answer. This 3 minute thing is driving me crazy! I guess hwo to fix this means this is a question.

Rooted my S5 [Sprint] and my text messages take forever to send/play store glitchy

Hello everybody! Thanks for coming if you're here to help, I really need it, I want to find out if factory resetting is the only option because I want to keep my phone rooted, and there's so much stuff that I don't want to transfer over...
Anyways, my sms messages take around 10 - 20 minutes to send, if they even send at all, and yes, i'm at a spot where my signal is max, as my house has the best signal of all of the places I go to and this recently started happening right after I rooted. Also, when I download something via the play store, it downloads very very quickly(5mb/s), then just pauses at 61% or 88% randomly and doesn't move...
Anyone know what the problem is?
Got this fixed, thanks anyways, sorry for the useless thread here...
What was your fix. I'm waiting for a replacement phone because my text to other non sprint carriers will send out but they won't get received.
What did you do to fix it?

Screen flickering with horizontal lines

https://www.dropbox.com/s/dxerck6wu4l475m/20161207_203959.mp4?dl=0
Hello everyone,
Just asking for some help here; I couldn't find any cases like mine online. (Although, tbh, I'm not sure how to describe it, let alone search for it)
But it is a reproducible issue that occurs. It isn't always there but for certain images/screens, it is always present. The video is one example.
I am on stock everything; I haven't really touched the phone much since I just recently acquired it.
What would be causing this issue and is there a way to fix it??
Thanks in advance for the help.
P.S. I've posted this question on the Q&A thread and I don't mean to spam or anything. Just making sure I reach out to everyone.
I have the exact same issue.. While playing games it happens a lot.
Also whenever green color is onscreen it happens.
I have searched a lot on Google and basically the query is not understandable for google and it shows me irrelevant results.

tell me about it...can't even search for it properly because queries like 'horizontal lines flickering' shows me search results a totally different issue
Mine also happen the same thing. Suspected software issues because only certain picture reproduce this issue. But a friend I found in facebook said he replace the screen to fix this. Starting to happen on 6.0.1 approx. 1 month before getting nougat custom rom. Never tried to reflash stock rom yet.

Hey, finally is the problem fixed for you ? And what was the solution? I am on Android 6.0.1 & was thinking about downgrading to 5.1.1
Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!
