SIM Card Inserted Message Keeps Appearing - General Questions and Answers

My phone is the HTC One M9 with Android 7.0 but ever since I switched to a Virgin Mobile sim card I get the following reoccurring message:
SIM Card Inserted
Tap to complete setup.
Click to collapse
After tapping on that message the "Select your carrier" screen appears but no carriers are listed. Once I back out of that screen the “SIM Card Inserted” alert disappears for a while before coming back again.
If I put in my O2 sim card then the “SIM Card Inserted” appears but the “Select your carrier” screen contains options e.g. O2 Pay as you Go which I select and the SIM Card Inserted disappears and doesn’t appear again.
One thing that might be related is that I don't get any service while in my flat so that could be triggering the "SIM Card Inserted" message. Even if I go into the "Select your carrier" screen with a full signal no carriers appear. In the meantime I can confirm that my phone recognises that I am using Virgin:
Settings > About > Network > Operator name > Virgin
Does anyone know what might be triggering this message and how to stop it?

[Q] Network or SIM card error.

If I flash any custom ROM that is not built on the stock/ota my phone appears to have some problems with the SIM card.
Specifically, if I go into settings->call settings->advanced it gives an error reading "Network or SIM card error." then it kicks me back to call settings, preventing me from making any changes.
This is a problem because I need to change the "my phone number" setting. If I go to settings->about phone->status it shows "unknown" under "my phone number" which in turn causes the phone to not associate my own contact entry with the phone, and it also causes problems for checking voicemail.
Strangely enough, I am still able to make phone calls, sent sms/mms, and connect to mobile data with no problem, so obviously the SIM card is working and is being read by the phone.
I would suspect that it is a problem with the SIM card, but if I flash back to stock, the problem goes away.
Any ideas anyone?

That happens with me also, running cm7 rom. But that`s not really an issue because there are not important settings over there. If you change any settings before the message pops up , settings will be saved after you exit the menu. Nothing to worry about- your phone and sim are fine:good:

reset network settings worked for me
I know this thread is very old, but I've recently run into the same issue and found a solution. In the settings, there is an option for "Reset Network Settings". This will remove all your wifi networks and any downloaded access point settings, but fixed the issue for me. Hope this helps any future solution seekers!

One UI 2 (Android 10 - "BSKO" rom) SIM card manager bug?

Just updated to Android 10 ROM - G970FXXU3BKSO on my international (SM-G970F/DS) Galaxy S10e.
Now, if I set the SIM card to use for "Mobile data" (with one SIM card turned off, and the option of either the active SIM (AT&T) or "off"), when I set the "mobile data" the the SIM card that is turned on, I get a toast mesage that (to the effect of) "AT&T will be used for mobile data", but, when the toast disappears, the Mobile Data setting is either "off" or just not present at all (that is, under "Mobile Data" there is nothing -- blank). If I use the "quick settings", it shows mobile data is on, but it isn't. If I toggle the quick settings to off, then on, it comes back on.
By itself, this isn't such a big deal, but, apparently randomly, mobile data simply gets turned off.
Help???
One UI 2 (Android 10 - "BSKO" rom) SIM card manager bug? - SOLVED
SOLVED: This was a bear to find.
TLDR: This was NOT a bug in the SIM card manager. It was a problem with the Google Fi app.
Google FI app was messing with SIM card control. Delete the app, and all is fine.
Long version:
Android 10 update for Samsung SM-G970F/DS (Dual SIM, Exnos, international version) seemed to break the SIM card manager for the dual SIM configuration.
Randomly, it would set Mobile Data to off, but not gracefully or correctly. Randomly, it would change the mobile data to use the alternate SIM card.
I have a Google FI SIM in slot 1, and an AT&T SIM card in slot 2.
Apparently, the Google FI app *thinks* it knows more than it does about the Samsung dual sim phones, and thinks it wants to switch SIM cards. It would disable mobile data, but not set the "mobile data" flag to "off". So, the mobile data looks like it is on, but, when bringing up the SIM card manager from settings/Connections/SIM card manager, the "Mobile data" was blank (which should never happen), instead of "Off"
Deleting the Google Fi application makes everything fine.
Google Fi app version: December 11, 2019 version. (V22-arm64-v8a-xxhdpi (282453276)

Google Pixel 2 : Invalid Card - Emergency Calls Only

Hello,
Since I update my pixel 2 (February 2020) my phone cant get into mobile network. on the notification bar displayed 'Invalid Sim - Emergency Calls Only' while on notification center said 'No simcard'. When I try to put the simcard to another phone its worked just fine.
I already tried to hard reset my phone and change another simcard to put in my Pixel 2 but the result remained 'Invalid Card'
When I go to Setting > Network & Internet it just display an option to 'Add a network'
I tried to proceed by tapping the option and it bring me to a page where I can download the esim and I trying to download it whatsoever and it give me an error said Network not active and give EID number to be referred to my network operator carrier.
I think this is not an issue with my carrier. It is hardware issues. please if somebody know how to help this, i literally tried everything to fix my device. or should I just wait for the next update? will they fix it?

Evolution X ROM doesn't detect my sim card

I've recently installed the Evolution X custom rom for my Poco X3 NFC and noticed that the sim card is not being detected. On the lock screen, on the top left, the text glitches alternating from "No SIM card" to "No SIM card - No service" to "SIM card - vodafone UK" (my carrier). Unlocking my phone and swiping down from the status bar displays in the top right a similar situation: text alternating from "No service" to "vodafone UK". I read another forum which suggested to uninstall Magisk but yet that did not help the situation. Going into the Settings app and Network and Internet didn't help as the Mobile Network was greyed out, but then it got worse after restarting even entering Network and Internet would crash Settings app. Eventually got the crash message "Carrier Services keeps stopping".
Hope anyone can help me soon, many thanks!
are you on latest firmware global? if not try with upgrading your firmware
Yes, I was. Solved now though - just factory resetting solved the issue.
Thanks for the suggestion anyways.
