HUAWEI GR3 2017 (PRA-LX2)
Android 7.0
EMUI 5.0
Internal Memory: 16GB
So at first I don't have any problem with my phone but as time goes by here comes its weakness, its internal memory running low. Every time I need an app to be downloaded I need to uninstall app/s in exchange of the new one. In my case I don't want that kind of process, in short I want many apps on my phone. So I bought an sd card (128GB CLASS 10) because I saw a solution here in XDA. A solution of partitioning the sd card using its half memory to be an internal of my phone to increase it to have more apps but unfortunately it didn't work I don't know why. I didn't want to root my phone because of some issues of bricking it. This partitioning don't required rooting. I gave up and tried to root my phone because I saw some video on youtube using apps like "App2SD". Again, rooting doesn't work on my phone so I can't use that app. One more thing in the settings of my phone, when I go to apps then storage, I can't find the option of moving the app/s on sd card. Sorry one more thing is my phone can't reformat the sd card as an internal memory. Please help me, give me all your knowledge about this. I hate running low on memory. Thanks in advance!
NOTE: I tried rooting using Kingroot and Kingoroot (Android not PC version) only. I haven't tried the PC versions.

Hi, I've successfully rooted my phone (Thl v11) using Bin4ry and now I'd like to use my external SD card as internal memory. Unfortunately the internal memory of the phone is only a bunch of MB and I can't download app even if I will install them on the SD.
Is there anyone able to help me?
I found some guides on this forum about how to swap SD and internal memory but the ones I found were always dedicated to certain phones.
I noticed there are no posts about this Thl phone on this forum, but it's kinda cool and cheap.
Really hope someone can help me.
Thanks in advance,

Anyone?
Please...
i have the same problem me too please help!!
hi guys, you have to install link2sd first, so format your sd with 2 partitions, first one is a primary partition fat32 formatted, second one is a primary partition ext4 formatted (use a program on pc, i use gparted on linux). Now you can insert sd in android device and open link2sd, it asks you wich partition you want to use, choose ext4 so it says to restart device, restart and open link2sd, now you can link your apps (in configuration menu you can set autolink)

Hello,
I am from India and I just happened to read this thread. I have a few questions and I appreciate If you could answer them.
I purchased a new nexus 5 32 GB. Now, I am afraid to do rooting as it could void my warranty.
I would like to know how to install apps to the external storage. Since Nexus 5 comes without an sd card(sealed sd card). How do I access this sd card, becuase If I install any app. It just installs(currently, it tells 350mb and 26 GB free). Now, is this telling me that 350 MB is being used on sd card.
Secondly, where can I check the amount of RAM being used ?
Regards,
Avi
If you don't want to root, don't. As for your other question, I don't understand... There is no external storage. Unless you get an otg like meneevo but you can't install apps to that. Everything runs off the internal. 32 GB should be more than enough unless you install like 1000 apps...

Here's an excellent thread about the N5's storage.
Some more info please
Hello,
Thanks for the reply. But I still have some doubts.
If I install any app from play store, By default, where it will install, in the internal 32 GB Memory or on the 2GB RAM ?
Because, my intention is that whatever apps I install, It should by default install in the 32GB internal storage and not on the 2GB RAM. How to do this ? If any screenshot helps, please let me know.
Regards,
Avi
they are installed in 32 gb not ram lololololo.....

Apps will only install on the phones memory and never the RAM. RAM means how many apps you can have open on the phone at one time (multitask). For example you can have Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Browser, etc all open at one time without the phone crashing or running sluggish. RAM is basically the towing capacity of a pick up truck.
The phone memory is basically a car trunk filled with groceries (data, pictures, videos, apps, etc). The larger the car trunk, the more groceries you can put in it before you run out of storage and have to put it in the back seat/front seat (external SD or OTG).
In short, you have 32gb and all your apps will be downloaded ONLY to the 32gb.

Hello,
If it is that all the apps will be downloaded to 32 GB internal memory, then why would anybody use link2sd apps, because the main intention is that nothing goes to phone memory(2 GB) and all of them goes to 32gb internal memory. I believe that link2sd apps is probably not for nexus 5 phone at all and only for other smart phones.
One thing, I would like to tell is that I downloaded the link2sd app(hoping that this could increase the phone performance). Here, when I launch the app, for few apps, it tells that the app can be moved and tells that symbolic link is not found ? Does this make all sense what I am saying ?
What is your take on this ?

Avinash

Link2sd is not for our phone. Its for phones that support external SD. We have internal SD and no external SD (micro SD slot)! Delete Link2sd and enjoy your phone. Don't worry about storage space. You should have more than enough storage space unless you download a lot of songs, movies etc. I have over 200 songs on my phone and I have a lot of storage left! I have the 32gb model also.

Unlocking and Rooting
Hello,
Thanks for all the reply. All my answers are answered pretty well.
What I understand is unlocking and rooting is required only when custom roms and link2sd need to be installed, As far as Nexus 5 is concerned, would unlocking and rooting help as already I am running kitkat 4.4 latest build.
Also, I have some queries related to apps, would you mind If I post it here or I should create a different post.
Regards,
Avi
You cannot use link2sd as there's no sd slot so no, root will not help.

There is much more than link2sd which requires root, link2sd is used on phones with almost very less internal memory so no use on nexus 5..….if u are newbie just keep ur phone stock and read and carefully understand about rooting and unlocking from xda and later you can try them
Got this phone recently from tracfone. great phone for the price. Small internal storage, 8GB but after all the system stuff more like 3gb. So this leads me to my problem. I'm still an android noob didn't know how SD cards worked with
Internal storage thought apps would just install to it, but it seems I was wrong. So I did some researching it seems android 6.0 lets you use the sd card as internal storage. This phone came with 5.1. Then I started to look into rooting the phone and getting a rom of 6.0 put on it. I soon found out this phone is like the red headed step child of ZTE phones. No official support, the phone isn't even on the ZTE website. Cant find any custom roms for it. So im stuck I like the phone Its just hard to work with that limited of internal storage for apps. Any help would be appreciated.

I recently bought an SD card for my ZTE Paragon and I've tried so hard to find a way to root it and try to get the internal storage to move my apps to my SD card. I don't have a computer available and am seriously getting stressed about this. Please someone help me, this 1.27 GB of storage that's taken up by 400 mb of system BS is aggravating. It is a Z753G, thank you!

As I myself am hitting brick walls in rooting my galaxy Luna and being stuck with laughable internal storage I found an app that has been quite handy to an extent. It's free in Google play its called Apk share/App send Bluetooth. It makes a copy of the app you select as an apk, and then allows you to send the app via Bluetooth to another device. I have been using it to send apks to my tablet which has an SD card as the default write disk, so I can move the SD to any device and all the apks are on the SD in my Bluetooth file.
The nifty thing is that you can also send the apks to other places if there's no secondary device available to you. You can send them to your Google drive, Google+, gmail and even through text message. Then you just install the apk from the Bluetooth folder on the SD like you would any other apk ?
This method may not technically save you any space if you require every app you have on the device though which sucks, especially if you are running lollipop. So if this is not helpful I apologize. However I hope this can help even just temporarily! On the plus side it can be a good way to back up all the apps you may need or want to have on SD before/during root process

Hi, I am a very accomplished PC super-geek user who can troubleshoot/fix just about any computer problem, and I'm looking for the equivalent person in regards to the Android phone.
I just bought a (brand new) DuraForce E6810 and put a new 32GB SD card in. When I put the card in, I elected for it to be used as internal memory in order to install/run apps from it. The SD card shows up in Settings > Storage, but it does not show up in ANY of the file manager apps I'm trying to use to manipulate/move files. I figured the "internal" storage might show up as 64GB in the file manager apps (32 internal + 32 SD configured as internal), but that is not the case. The file manager apps only show the 32GB internal memory that came with the phone. Anyone have any advice? I am planning to root the phone in order to (hopefully) take advantage of the HotSpot feature as well as the FM radio chip. Any advice on these topics would be greatly appreciated, also.
Thanks!

Apparently due to spamming issues that have occured on this forum, members like myself who don't have enough "useful" posts are unable to start a new thread in a forum that is actually relevant to the problem that I am asking advice about.
I do thank you for trying, though. Does anyone else know how I can get the help I need?

Thanks for moving this to the Kyocera DuraForce superthread. My device is Kyocera DuraForce Pro E6810 (Verizon). I have a 32GB MicroSD card, to go along with the phone's 32GB Internal memory.
After formatting the SD card as INTERNAL memory, I connected the phone to my computer via USB and selected USB File Transfer (MTP). On my computer, it ONLY shows the SD card with 28.6GB free out of 29.2GB Total memory, and the phone's ACTUAL internal memory is not listed at all.
After reformatting the SD card as PORTABLE storage and connecting the phone to my computer, it lists the SD card with 29.7GB free of 29.7GB Total, and the Internal memory with 15.0GB free of 21.0GB.
Both the SD card and the Internal memory of the phone are 32GB total space, which should be 64GB combined. Can someone please tell me why after formatting the SD card as INTERNAL storage, I only see 29.2GB TOTAL memory on the phone, and there is NO Internal memory listed at all when connected to my computer?
So I think I have this figured out, someone please verify this for me:
Formatting the SD card as INTERNAL storage REPLACES the phone's original internal storage and DOES NOT ADD TO IT! Is this essentially correct?
im a bit late on the response sorry
but respectively, yes you are pretty much correct. although it doesnt run off of the internal FS via the sd card, that would be silly, i believe it creates a duplicate partition of the part of the internal FS that allows a specific type of apps data to be run the can normally not run externally. such as meta data and binary files which contain the "actual" code for the app and not just a users cached data. To be honest i could be wrong idk, but that is my idea of what happens in your case. ita definitely happened to ne before.
