Send me or xRepinsSporx a PM for more info or head to the site and start uploading now! Currently hosting for many many devs including Myn, Virus and Team Nocturnal. But need more devs!!!! Thanks

ROM/Mod File sharing after MegaUpload takedown

Hey everyone,
The recent events with MegaUpload have resulted in a variety of file sharing sites discontinuing their services. I'm posting this thread as I read a Lifehacker article today which explicitly states sites that have begun shuttering their services. I'm passing info you all may find resourceful as without a site to host your links for roms, mods, etc. you may have a rather difficult time pushing your Android accomplishments to the masses that are XDA. Here is a link to the article:

Note, this is not meant to encourage deviant acts nor supplement anyone's questionable file sharing behavior. This is for everyone who intends to continue development for the android platform.
Its a sad time to need file sharing
I was found some stock ROM in mediafire
but megaupload still completly file sharing

ICS Firmware request

Hi,
I'm looking for the Telstra Australia ICS Firmware. It has been 404 in this thread for quite a long time http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1943879
If anyone has downloaded it when it was available and can host it on Google Docs, Dropbox, Rapidshare, home server, etc. I would very much appreciate it an will do my best to provide a separate host for it as well.
This is it

[Q] Why do many developers host their products on spammy file hosting sites?

My question might be a bit biased since my experience is limited to Sony forums, but nonetheless I was quite surprised to see many APKs, scripts, and ROMs hosted on some weird sites that make you wait for up to a minute, limit the number of attempts to download the file, have unblockable pop-ups, and try to upsell you their premium subscriptions that would have none of that. There are plenty of free, reliable ways to host software projects: e.g., BitBucket, GitHub, and Google Code - and all of them have quite simple functions to host downloadable packages.
Is it because devs get some commissions if anyone signs up for the premium download service? Or because they don't know how to use the other features of code and repository hosting websites? Or because they don't want to expose their source code? Or is it something else?
I always use Google Drive or Dev-Host because those sites provide me total control over the files I upload
other are websites that pay them per visitor

Click to collapse
Dev-Host is actually my #1 most hated site. They have 3 download buttons, of which 2 are trying to get you install some serious spyware.
Ahh that explains some comments I see saying "Mobo Genie" no way and the like
I never noticed that wow
But I am using adblocker
Mediafire, Google are positive
Mega.co.nz, devhost are slow
depositfiles, uploaded are negative
You might make a list off all downloadsites that dwell in and around xda

Android Donut Icons (Including Amazon MP3)

Hello! I found this in a official Google site and it was mostly related to Android Eclair. When I saw this on the website I downloaded it and uploaded it to Mediafire, and here I am, sharing it to XDA.
Here's the link: /file/8h4uqczict5jhjn/Donut-Icon-Pack-v1.0.zip/file
Just add Mediafire's URL in the start!
