Are there any directories in the Android system where am allowed to store files other than /sdcard? I see a folder called sqlite_stmt_journals which appears to have permissions but the folder I make in it keeps getting deleted and sometimes when I put files in there the process fails...
Hi all. I see much system folders on SDcard. Such as a folders with "." in name and folders from some APPs. So there is question, can we some how hide\move them?
How i see this situation. Can we make folder on SDcard and mount it like a SD in Android? So we will get 1 folder with all system folders, and all our folders.
I bad in android\linux but that what i think. Any suggestions?
BTW: I know this folder has nothing to do with dropbox.com, so don't ask.
I been going through my system looking for logs and stuff and so far I found.
/data/system/dropbox
/data/system/usagestats
/data/tombstones
/data/adb
/data/dalvik-cache
After deleting the stuff inside these folders I was able to regain 100MB's.
Now my data partition reads 22% instead of 91%
What are these folders and why do they take up soo much space?
In the meantime, I'm making symlinks from those folders and placeing them on /dev/log
Ummmm /data/dalvik-cache? U deleted it!?
Do any apps work?
Yeah they all work, I only deleted the contents inside not the folder.
Then I made a symlink of the folder to /dev/graphics so the files still exist, but they will all get deleted at power-off.
All the other folders I made a symlink to /dev/log.
There was 49.5MB's in that folder so I'm glad I deleted its contents.
i have a xperia J and its rooted i swapped the storage using the vold.fstab file. but when i try to install sd games their data get stored in the data/data folder as eg: "com.sajdgfhgfds"
i dont want to use directory binding or other apps that bind the data virtually.. all i want to know is how do make the apps to install their data to the sd_card/android/data folder. is their any other file that can be changed using the adb commands ?
hi, im having problems deleting a folder in my internal storage.
my phone is Lenovo A328, stock rom, rooted, and running on kitkat.
i didn't do any tweaking on my phone besides rooting.
i noticed while browsing my internal folders, in Android/data there is a folder named "com.com2us.soulcollector.normal...." 16.74mb in size.
it's from the game soul seeker, and i've already uninstalled the game, i tried to delete it but cant be deleted.
here's what ive done so far:
-i used other browsing apps like root explorer and root browser
-renamed the folder and delete, but can't
-moved the folder to other location in internal (cant move to external), still cant delete
-downloaded the game again and made sure the folder name and location is the same. then uninstalled the game, still the folder is there.
-edit the permission but cant.
-reboot device
-clean junk files using clean master
i dont want to restore or reformat my device. its a pain trying to download and reinstall again all my apps.
please help!

Try remounting /data as RW.
So, if you're using ES Explorer, open menu, inside Tools, click on Root Explorer.
Then click Mount R/W. And mount all partitions as RW.
This may help
