Call echo problem - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I flashed lineage os 14.1 (20180105 nightly) on my moto g3(osprey) and now whenever someone calls me or I call them, they hear their own voice as an echo while I have no problem hearing anything.
Can anyone tell me what the problem might be and how I can fix it please ?

Yes same thing is happening with me ,eco on caller side on latest nightlies

Well, my friends can hear 'double' sounds, kind of reverberation I think, but only when on Loudspeaker mode.
I am using a modified mixer_paths.xml for stereo output (but I didn't touch mic values) from 5/6th jan build. At first I thought I had messed up, but now it seems it's something in ROM/kernel.
Have you tried flashing squid kernel and then testing? The custom kernel had a fix for low call & media volume, so maybe it fixes up the current issue ?

Try replacing your mixer_paths.xml with the one attached in TWRP. You can backup your current setup and try with a clean install to ensure that it's used correctly. I had modified this file to enable stereo output so please bear with that

Tried this, still doesn't work.
Is there any chance that this might be a hardware error ?

It could be. If the same happens with the stock rom, then it's either your carrier or the phone hardware.

Where I can get 02/02/18 build? can you please provide a link?

I have same problem. This issue is not in stock 5.1 ROM. but in stock 6.0 and stock 6.0.1 ROM, this echo problem is present. Any solution for this?

stock 5.1 ROM didn't have echo problem. But I can't get volte working in stock ROM 5.1 anymore on my XT1550. Any help please?

Finally I solved the echo problem in my XT1550 2GB phone.

Steps I followed:
wipe/reset

install 5.1.1 (build 47)
Wipe/reset
modem firmware alone from OS5.1.1 (build 47.4)
Wipe/reset
modem firmware alone from OS5.1.1 (build 65), all other commands below in https://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/general/guide-fastboot-flashing-factory-t3187750
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase customize
fastboot erase clogo
fastboot oem fb_mode_clear
fastboot reboot
(my guess is probably wipe/reset before modem firmware alone from OS5.1.1 (build 65) is the solution!)
Hope it helps someone.

I actually contacted Shawn5162 a few hours before posting this. I asked him if he would consider a release of his ROM for Moto G (1st Gen) because I could see it might be possible, and told him how.
I made the decision to release a very basic ROM based on a pure stock system dump, for others to use as a launchpad for their own work. This ROM doesn't have most the features of the 'Titan Prime' ROM, because it's not a port of that ROM.
I don't mind changing the name if Shawn wants, and I am happy to credit anyone.
FYI: The codename of XT1063 is Titan.
EDIT: Now called 'Identity Crisis ROM' - the original working title...should have stuck with that.
With XT1063, the main speaker is front-facing.
A temporary solution is to re-route all audio to the earpiece speaker using SoundAbout.

bootloops and wifi doesn't turn on

i had the latest COS12 stock rom (rooted)
few days ago my battery ran out and after charging, the device got into bootloop.
i tried the onplus fix (https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/fix-stuck-at-boot-logo-boot-loop-random-reboot.160199/) which indeed fixed my bootloop and flashed KTU84Q (4.4.4), however, my wifi doesn't turn on now:
https://youtu.be/xchjcNl3pPk
i've tried clean flash again (with lolipop i get bootloop again)
i've also tried flashing color os (kitkat) and also no wifi
so far my problem seems to be:
on lolipop - bootloop
on kitkat - no wifi
any one has any idea?

A few questions:
What method are you using to switch between KK and LP? Fastboot (flashing stock images) or recovery?
If it's recovery, are you flashing the correct firmware/modem?
Are you still able to see your baseband and IMEI in About Phone?
IF you haven't flashed the stock images with fastboot that's the first thing you should try. I have detailed instructions in my guide here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2839471
first, thanks for your reply
second:
at first i did a clean flash from fastboot like this: https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/tutorial-flashing-a-factory-image-from-scratch.142870/
i also tried the oneplus one fix for bootloops that also use fastboot from here: https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/fix-stuck-at-boot-logo-boot-loop-random-reboot.160199/
later, i tried flashing from recovery, also the colorOS rom
the common for all is LP = bootloop \ KK = no wifi
when i'm on KK the phone works got, getting calls in and out
when i've flashed from recovery i've flashed only one zip file. didn't flash firmware nor modem

It's because of the modem files.. When u downgrade or upgrade from/to lollipop/kitkat u must flash the appropriate files!! Pm me if u want more info

update to cm 12 or 13, sim / wlan problem

Hello,
long time ago I used a cyanogen mod on an old samsung which still works fine as mp3 player.
Now I have a motorola moto g 4g xt1039. It is unlocked and on android 4.4.4
All installations are done with linux and fastboot
I installed recoverytwrp2-8-3.img and do a backup and it works
I installed cm-13.0-20151226-NIGHTLY-peregrine.zip - no success because of an old bootloader, so I searched for another one and found motoboot_411A_xt1039.img and installed it.
Installation of cm13 works but I have no wlan and no sim detected.
I installed cm-12.1-20151103-NIGHTLY-peregrine.zip and have wlan but no sim
Next: cm-11-20150105-NIGHTLY-peregrine.zip -> wlan and sim detected
Try to go from cm11 to cm 12 -> same effect as before, no sim. I tried different "wipe stages" from nothing to nearly full.
Try to use the update offer in cm11 to cm13 -> same effect.
Found a hint to delete telephony.db -> install cm13 -> no sim and some more errors.
Now I need a hint - I have no idea what to do - any help would be very nice.
I'm not sure, if it is important: after changing the bootloader I saw sometimes a flickering of the screen,
especially when starting the first time. With a newer twrp recoverytwrp2-8-7encryption.img I don't have this
problem, but cm13 stucks in showing the animated cyanogenmod logo.
Thanks

Hello,
thank you, your hint was the right one. After flashing the radio part it works directly.
I tried to install 5.1 stock, then flashing the radio part:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
After that 5.1 has wlan and sim support.
I tried cm13 from today, it works.
Thank you very much.

You have nougat bootloader so you can install only nougat roms.
If you want to install lollipop roms you have to do a downgrade to lollipop bootloader.

That means now i have to download original firmware 5.1 and flash it through the fastboot and then i will have good bootloader for cm12.1 ? Maybe i can find it in internet and flash bootlader in TWRP? Adb sideload and fastboot still available
Where i can find that?

Can't say why your Bluetooth isn't working anymore... But are you aware that you are not running an EUR device? I'm not sure if you can swap parts of the firmware from OPT2 to EUR that easy.

Asgard kernel requires bootloader 10d or something, so it automatically flashes that. It also flashed kernel modules to /system/lib/modules
So you probably now have bootloader 10D with 10Q rom, with Asgard kernel modules... on top of that stock kernel uses forced module signing, so now it can't load the modules.
You'd better start over, or flash 10q bootloader and somehow get the right modules into system again.

I reported the issue above because I thought you may have missed to change some of the strigns that print that info right... Anyway your complete zip works like a charm so I din't have to wipe/reflash kdz from lg brige or lgup so thank you ! Here is my software info page now:
Coming from 20K. Flashed the complete ROM, SU (latest), Xposed 88.2. First boot was about 15 minutes! I almost gave up but after about 10 minutes "Android is upgrading" appeared so I waited more. I had no reception after the upgrade for few minutes (new radio to blame?). Now all seems normal.
I hope it will fix some bugs from 20K. Thanks @DavidFlint and @autoprime !
Does flashing the complete package overwrite TWRP? I'm thinking about going back to stock from Fulmics but bot quite sure how to proceed. Can anybody point me in the right direction?
Like do I flash the complete package, Magisk, and I'm good to go?
This still ARB 0 ?

Little report:
I flashed asgard kernel v7 and it totally screwed my bluetooth so I had to flash yours Flashable ZIP Boot: LG-H85020q-Flashable.Boot.zip to reverse the damage done by asgard as I didn't do any boot backup and this is what my software info says after flashed your zip. I was on stock kdz rom 20q version but now all seems screwed and also like your zip report like it is 20n version, see the attached image.

Don't know what you did to the Bluetooth but I'm on the latest firmware release from 3UK with the V20D bootloader and my kernel. Everything works with Bluetooth i.e. file transfers and audio streaming.

Wow, that was fast! Works like a charme. Many thanks @DavidFlint!
(Battery drain problem seems to be still there, though)
It gives me the error about NT code, strangely I flashed the previous J and didn't have troubles.I have even Orange french bloatware, even if I flashed the one that says "ita" (italy) downloaded from the kdz repository, but I think they put yours as the same for all the europe, same name, same size...
I m on stock 20i EU Rom.. I don't touch anything
I want to update to 20q
How i can do it ?

If you don't see an according automatic update on your phone, you have to flash the KDZ-file via LG UP.
Pro tipp: Use autoprime's UPPERCUT tool, this works very well!

Try it out. I'd make a backup before flashing...
Dirty flashed LG-H85020q-Flashable.COMPLETE.zip in TWRP and flashed SU afterwards.
Coming from 20p ( EEE Europe GB/United Kingdom) or H85020p_00_EEO_GB_OP_0916.kdz, anyone know if this can be an issue?
thanks!
H850 20s EU is available to download
Hi,
Thank you for your work, very happy with it. H850 20s EU ROM is available as on air update. I'll be waiting for your zip release.
Thanks again for the good work.

I don't know about the ZIP, but if you flash the open eu KDZ on your phone you'll get warning about something. Somewhere on the phone there are settings that the ROM reads and it'll know you're not supposed to use open eu on EEO.
I think deleting the contents of cust partition will remove the warnings, you need root for that, or you can flash Fulmics rom, that should take care of it.
