Can somebody recommend a Stable ROM for my Note Edge? - Note Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hallow,
I've been trying to find a stable custom rom for my Note Edge 915F for quiet a while now. Almost all seemed to have bugs and need further improvement. I also tried various roms now (CM, RR, Slaughter) and found them either causing battery drain or camera problems or overheating or all.
Hope somebody could point me to a tested and stable ROM i could use for daily basis. I hate touchwiz coz it eats a lot of RAM most of the time and the use of DPI in its screen is not appropriate? pixel-wise, though i really love using the edge functionality.
Please please please please help me with my searching. THanks much!!

As am I.
I had to do some research, but I found out what to get rid of and it makes a big difference.
Start by installing Titanium Backup.

I would start with a Google search for Note Edge bloatware.
Do you have a file manager app'?
If you want to try your hand, there's a few things you just don't mess with.
Gotta' work in the morning.
Catch you tomorrow night.

Farewell, i9003 forum

Hi there! Most of you probably don't know me, as I'm not a developer/contributor, nor someone who writes a lot.
I just wanted to thank you for these two years full of new roms, themes and kernels, wich made me busy for hours, but then made my life easier. Why am I saying this? Because tomorrow will come my new device, and I won't be using my Galaxy SCL as my main device anymore (gonna leave it on the bench, just in case hehe).
I wish you all the best, and maybe in the near future some of us will be sharing devices again (that would be great)!
So this shouldn't be a GoodBye, but a See You Next Time!
Cheers!
(I'm specially grateful to dhiru, kkrraazzyy, lolation, losconosciuto, vishal, adipat, hillbeast, ganeshbiyer, skin1980, skander, codeworkx, amit, trip007, topdroid, xda_bam, shriom_manerker, doomlord, napstar, misledz, vurrut, alfrix, thefrankenstain, luiseteyo, rodero95, arindammanidas,,, and many more I can't remember right now! what will be your new device then?
A nexus 4!
Well, it's not like it's the best phone in the world, but I'm happy with it.. I got it really cheap from a friend, a bargain! Thanks for asking cheers

Yeah, you know, I love it! It goes as smooth as silk. I saddens me, but I have to admit there's a big gap in performance between both devices... far greater than I ever imagined...

I'm on it right now - it is bloody blazing fast for sure. I missed the PIE controls but just ended up using LMT on it so PSX is my new rom now
Only thing thats REALLY irritating me is that I cant download any large apps using play store. It goes till 100% on many downloads then just never finishes and crashes. Tried multiple times reinstalling even 3 different roms but all based on JSS. I think JSS is the prob

If the rom is that good, I'll try it out too haha!
Gonna give you feedback! Thanks for the advice
Well, after a few days trying it, I reverted to CM10.2! It's true PSX rom is faster than any other rom I installed, but it lacks things.
As I'm still amazed by the speed nexus 4 opens everything in stock rom, I prefer relaying on a rom which I know would do the thigs I want
Anyway, it's a GREAT rom!
Thanks for the advice, pal, cheers!

Yeah that is true, modification is pretty limited, even with Xposed Framework.
Is it just me or is there a real lack of different roms on the N4? Like on SL we have so many like S4 Rom, themed customized roms etc that look different from AOSP 4.3. All I see on Nexus 4 forums are AOSP based this and AOSP based that :/, theres like no themed roms, and this one cool transparent rom that was on 4.2 isnt going to be updated to 4.3 so I dunno. If you come across some cool roms for n4 give me a message

Fellas is there anyway to install touchwiz style rom instead of CM on Oneplus

Hi I am so much addicted to Samsung touchwiz. As a hardware side one plus one is great but never used CM based rom.and I am not sure If I will be able to handle CM rom. Any input guldies ? Its just my personal opinion I am not trying to say CM is bad but I never used it though.I am thinking of buying one .

J/K if you like the aesthetic then there are some excellent look-alike CM11 themes by thomasaffca.
If you want some of the extra features you'll need to look towards something like Mahdi which has hover plus a lot of other stuff.
Give a chance to stock in this device. Most likely you won't need 99% of the stuff Touchwiz conveniently shoves in your face and you will feel a device at least as twice as fast.

OPO... my mind is always tempted to write OPPO... which kinda is true.
The build quality, included storage (64GB vs 16GB), software and even battery life are better for me.
With that much space, not having an SD Card is not a problem to me.
Camera seems to be good, maybe not as good as the S5 in daylight but very good on it's own.
My S5 even when having top of the line specs (38k+ in Antutu) lagged thanks to Touchwiz. Never again.
^^ what he said. I've had galaxy devices since they were released. Believe me cm is MUCH better. Take some time to immerse yourself in the settings - it will really amaze you how much faster cm is.
Cm is actually one of the plainer aosp ROMs - check out carbon or liquid smooth - tweaktastic!
But... Touchwiz is the Satan of ROMs! Touchwiz is so slow and filled with useless blaotware from Samsung. I'd rather use Sense 6.

I like touchwhiz because of S health.
I really want to buy a OPO but i use S health every day and i will miss it so hard.
Never found a decent alternative (accuracy or battery usage)
I find touchwiz to have better interface than native opo. What I specifically miss on the opo is
1) having the home screens wrap around.
2) let me sort my total list of applications my way.
3) unread count on sms/mms.
4) easy creation of home screens to the left.
I haven't noticed touchwiz to be slow on my S2.

Mate 7 was released October 2014. Five Months to go for it's first birthday. Go get an HTC or a Sony. LOL
LOL
Well this beta will the first EVIDENCE of the existance of Lollipop for Mate 7...
oh my god this frustrating just release it now please.. I am desperate for some performance increase and better GUI speed...
It gets more and more frustrated, the frustrating has been freezed earlier cause I have been amazed by the big screen experience and good screen, but now when I am used to it I am more frustrated with the slow performance and multi tasking.. I know most people will not notice it but if you work fast and switch between apps fast constantly you get frustrated... Lollipop hopefully improve some things.
The people who do not demand better speed they just use their phone slow, and do not notice the lag.. the lag is for me noticeable.
I assume you already tried changing the power saving mode, considering the default one isn't optimized for performance...
Also lowering the animation scale in the developer options.
Hi guys,
I trust Huawei are sure that by May the new firmware release LP.

When you say there's no AOSP support, does this mean no roms based on stock? I am a bit rusty with Android jargons.
So basically all roms are based on Samsung TouchWize?
Again - thanks

Speed, the quality itself - changing from a "plastic" brick to aluminium is just a wow-feeling. I am OP doesn't make bad phones but when you change to something which is made by an company which exists already for so many years...samsung just makes the best phones in any way out there! I like touchwiz, the screen is awesome, best camera behind the s7, MM flys on the phone
That's great!! U actually got me excited. Will have mine with in a week or so. Do you have a recommended ROM (from your experience)?

good info, im just not sure why people use xposed as opposed to a custom ROM with the features that theyre looking for baked into the ROM
Because sometimes, there are many things "cooked", and if I need 1 or 2 mods, then I don't need to deal with all the bugs that came with custom ROMs.

thats pretty fair, but i dont really get many (if any) bugs with custom ROMsif installed correctly. Im not bashing xposed, i just think that custom ROMs are the way to go for my taste
plus, in my experience, using xposed on a stock rom is better, you don't have to deal with any bugs

It can screw things up fast and often! Haha. I use XPosed purely for boot manager and greenify. Those are safe on any rom. Unfortunately there are so many modules you can use on your phone that aren't meant for it. If you're not happy to screw things up to learn what works than it can be a huge headache. Lol. I gave up screwing with many of the modules. Oh. I also use it for no ads and background play for YouTube.

As I've seen... I'm using the s5 for a second phone while my first is a note 5 which is the best phone I've used, after I had to give away my note 7.
And also that the camera on the s5 is not bad either... I just don't like it when it asks me to hold the device steady while it's taking a photo...

no, im on resurrection remix nowadays and very much miss the TW camera. I ran MOAR for over a year and wanted to try out the AOSP ROMs that everyone was ranting about, and i rather enjoy several things about RR, but the camera is rather lackluster on AOSP. TW ROMs have access to the stock Samsung camera, which is awesome!! I really havent found much that just WOWs me about AOSP vs MOAR other than the fact that MOAR isnt being updated anymore (yes, you jsut witnessed someone remind themselves about why they decided on something that they had totally forgotten LoL) I spent a little time finding out if one could port the stock TW cam to AOSP, but apparently its not possible
