Any customized themes that are compatible with EMUI 5.0 on the Honor 8 phone? Seems VUi is still on 4.1, isn't it?

I ran the beta for a while and I wasn't able to find any during the month or so I used it. I imagine it'll be a little bit after its official release before we see theme support.

It's kind of strange since I've been running L04-*B360 (same build as mentioned, but US variant) for ~couple of weeks now via the Charles update thread. It runs great, but I would be surprised if they released the exact same version of the beta I'm on as the "final release" version.
If it's the same version I'll just stick with the b360 build I'm on. I suppose it's possible that each "region" version of the H8 will wind up on some slightly different version of EMUI but that doesn't really sound right either.
Here's an attachment of my current beta build 360:

So there's no point in waiting for the final release in February? Just apply for beta, install 360 version?
That'd be disappointing by honor
Huawei is really starting to tick me off. That want to be "bigger than apple" but for updates it seems like North America is in the back of the cue.
Seriously, release those updates and release that source code so we can get custom Roms running properly.
Otherwise Huawei phones will not be on my shopping list again.
You make it very hard to like you.

They seem to have a very small team working on the US Beta (maybe only 1 person even)
the Beta releases were:
2016.11.11 FRD-L04C567 FRD-L04C567B317
2016.11.24 FRD-L04C567 FRD-L04C567B320

2017.01.03 FRD-L04C567 FRD-L04C567B360
With a couple of small same number fixes in between
At this rate I don't see much else getting done before February.
Many have already gone up to the 360 beta using this method why wait ?

Supposedly a user on the US l04 variant got the OTA. Here is the link, see post #16 https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/help/nougat-t3540230/page2
According to this http://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_roadmap_details_when_midrangers_will_get_nougat-news-22852.php the Chinese variants of the Honor 8 also had nougat that started rolling out on the 16th
Hello, so I'm currently waiting for the Nougat update to arrive on my Honor 8 (L09) but I noticed that I can upgrade with HiCare, so is this recommended or will it wipe my device? And should I use HiCare or just wait for the OTA in the updater app?
Hi! I did the update to EMUI b360 via the Hicare app on my L09 honor 8 and it went just fine. Lot of people here did the same without issues. It does not wipe the phone, but I still recommend you to do a backup before proceeding.
EMUI 5 works flawlessly, I really like it.
For your information, my phone is *not* rooted. I don't know what happens with updates when the phone is rooted

Who said anything about final beta?
There may be a bug regarding safetynet so that Android Pay and other services might be affected. Source: https://club-us.hihonor.com/honor8....google-pay-nor-safety-checker-both-fail-.1577
Hope someone can confirm it here. So, be patient for those who haven't gotten the rollout. Let bugs resolved first.
WTF is a 'final beta'?? A beta is a beta. A final is a final. Let's not muddy the waters chaps...
B360 is the latest stable release that's being pushed to everyone. It's not a beta!
The reason that some have it and some don't is because they can't push it to everyone at the same time, they do it in waves depending on your model number, location and IMEI. If you don't have it yet just chill, it's on its way. It was due for February release anyway so think yourself lucky that you might be able to get it a little earlier if you do, if not you'll be getting it on time as expected.

hey AllieKitty,
i'm from germany and as i know so far the OTA 360 isn't rolled out at the moment in this country.
So i updated mit HiCare App to the version: 5.0.1.303 and changed my region to Europe/Country: Belgium
After this fix i recieved the update. It works fine.
Hello everyone.
I just saw that this update was proposed in FF, but not officially by OTA.
Can someone tell me if this day update is valid for an Honor 9 STF-L09 EU with French operator.
Sorry for my rotten English ...
This is my first Honor and I am not at all familiar with ADB, Fastboot etc ...
I used before SGS III and SGS IV Mini.
have you downloaded FF's proxy?
one of the 2 otas (not full) is working fine!
have it running on mine, also i saw some performance increase on antutu (~30k) and resolved thermals.
Hello
For information, in France, the update ( 542 Mo) has begun by OTA officially.

I do not understand why I do not have this update officially by OTA.
Did you install B150 via the phone update application ?
If I download B150 with FF, the installation is done automatically after or there are manipulations to do ?
And what update should I choose ?
The Full OTA or one of the other two 5xx MB ?
Thanks in advance for your help...:good:

Unlock yes, root no.
Going system root might work. Systemless will be tricky as the boot partition is split into a ramdisk partition and a kernel partition. And some files that used to be in ramdisk could be in /system now, I haven't investigated much (this is the case with OPO3 Oreo).
But I like Oreo so I hope Magisk will work with it in the future.

I have no problem with android o so far. However I have not used all features available with android o. I do not really care for the new features of android o or emui 8 (picture in picture, hide navigation bar, floating dock,...). In fact I like the settings of the emui 5 better.

Yes, for whatever reason there is no 'a' mentioned under build number. The a is in the internal Huawei build number so FunkyHuawei shows it like that.
Under further review, the phones do report the 321a to FunkyHuawei's server as the installed version regardless, so if you finished the install it is 321a. Nothing to worry about.

Android O for C636 exists, but it's an older version from September, branded as EMUI 6, before they decided to make it EMUI 8. Probably newer beta one coming soon. There are new ones for C900 (hw/normal) branding, Latin America branding, Russia branding... I just haven't released them.

Edit: oh, duraaraa already answered
I got all the three Oreo files too via the HiSiute method, since even with a correct DNS setting, wherever I could stick it I got "Package information download failed". Installed via the HWOTA successfully though. The Oreo test build is quite buggy when it comes to Wireless tethering and LTE speeds. Feels much slower then my N European 194 build so far. Shows "Phone Overheating" a lot too, something I never saw on my N build either. Have yet to see how long the battery will last. See few differences in the camera, maybe added zoom in raw mode. Still no Monochrome Raw, or 1080p Timelapses.

I tested on v7, I got 127k on the second try though
B402
I tried simple test on long-time running FRD-L09C432B402, which was updated without factory reset. Device with tempered glass and tossed in silicon case in sweet 22 °C room temperature. Even some of the process taken in background (no force close app) since I prefer real conditions benchmarks only.
if you now have more on the antutu. that does not mean that we have better gpu now . hehe.
I can't run test v 7.0.4 because I have fake l09.
LOL. What's going on?
