Downloads just stop abruptly on all nougat ROMs

Hey, so I used to face this problem around March and was adviced to change my firmware .The problem was fixed for a while but now its re appeared .While downloading files from a third party site ,the download just stops and shows a "downloading " message .I face this problem on all nougat ROMs .
I'm using the tuga browser .Evidently if I pause it and restart my phone it starts downloading for a while and shows the same stage again but this method corrupts the file .
Any fixes ?
Are you sure that the file sharing website doesn't limit the download ?

Did you tried different browsers(Uc Browser?) Or ADM(download manager)? Stock browsers never worked for me while downloading(atleast with jio) so I always use Uc Browser and ADM.

Nah I use my WiFi to download all this, also when I was on marshmallow I used tuga browser the entire time to download all 6 seasons of suits . If I can't find another solution I might have to drop down to marshmallow again

I don't get it either. @op why don't you use chrome or Firefox to see if it works? I don't like Tuga in the first place and I kinda bet it's something related to it considering all the bloatware that comes with the ROM.

Rooted Android Oreo - Play Store Payment Crash

Hey folks, I'm currently on the official Android Oreo build with root and noticed, that whenever I want to buy an app the play store crashes. Anyone experienced something similar?

Yes. Unrooted and it crashes with purchases. Tried wiping cache and data for play store. Thinking of doing a factory reset. On Pixel XL.

I had something similar in the past couple of days. Try searching Google on play store and then have a look at any Google apps that need updating, particularly Android system Web view

That is the culprit. Try wiping data and cache in app. Or maybe uninstalling it and reinstalling straight away? I was able to enable it so just suggestions here. Keep trying.

No success again. Is there a way to remove root on the Oreo builds? Couldn't find anything since this topic is pretty new at all. Will fastboot flashing the boot img from the Oreo build be sufficient?

There's nothing wrong with your web view. It's that way by design. It has been since Nougat. By default Nougat and Oreo use Chrome instead of Android System WebView. That's why you can't enable it right now. You can change it so it uses WebView instead in developer options.
Google explains how Chrome will become WebView in Android 7.0

Ever find a solution? I haven't had a chance to factory reset yet, will likely do so this weekend unless an alternative solution exists.

Did a factory reset, didn't help though. Had to reflash the Oreo image. Rooted again and play store works fine now.

removng apps

So updated to 8.1 stock Oreo with Magisk installed and for the life of me I can't get rid of the stock apps such as chrome, I delete them with Titanium Backup , or system remover but they still remain in my list of apps on screen

Sound issue in Oreo Beta 3

Hi,
I've got my phone 2 days ago and the first thing I did was to update to Oreo Beta 3 from the official site. I find that the sound stops working every once in a while, unless I reboot the phone. Anybody else face this issue too?

I never upgrade the phone to another OS before I test it out completely because if you update, then you never know if anything was broken before the upgrade. Back to your question, I am on beta 3 and sound is fine, but it depends which sound you are referring too.

I refer to the whole system sound, everything including ringtone volume and media and alarm. Nothing works when I try to play a song or a video. But when I reboot it, it's working!

Hello, I also had this problem until my first factory reset. I haven't had this issue since. It seems things can get messy when you upgrade to Oreo without a full wipe. Try that if all else fails. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. But I uninstalled GCMod5 (Google Camera port) the other day and I haven't found the issue ever since. Though I didn't flash it through the recovery, looks like it was affecting my phone somehow, and now it's gone! As of now, the problem is solved.

Me too...
I dunno what y'all talking about this update has improved so much for me in terms of usability and smooth operation
For manual installing April update, it's suggest to upgrade the platform-tool from https://developer.android.com/studio...orm-tools.html or the upgrade process will fail ....
Also, don't know why after upgrade (from factory image without -W option), Magisk v19 can no longer root the system... (TWRP installation is success but when reboot into the system it's not rooted). <--Edit: I uninstalled the Magisk Manager apk and reinstall and got root again!
Anyone else has same problem?

Tried V19 and V18.1 and both has the same problem. After update the April update, it seems Magisk Manager needs to be uninstall/re-install to detect root... (even after TWRP flash zip is done ok.)
Installed April update with no-wipe. Followed up with TWRP 3.2.3-3, Magisk v19.0 and Kiriskura kernel 2.1.3
Everything seems fine.

If you find a solution, I'd like to know it. My wife's P3 has this issue. In fact, she had the same issue on her OG Pixel. I do not have the issue on my 3 XL nor did I have it on my OG XL. There is some info here and on reddit, but mostly it is folk throwing $hit against the wall. Google has recommended full wipe as well as deleting and adding the profile back, but I am not going to bother unless that is a known fix.
