Can you apply the Dolby Atmos to S8+ without root? I just received the update to 8.0 or 8.1 whatever it is called. I am guessing that is the Oreo update. I am on T-Mobile. Would love to explore some of these apps but I don't know enough about it. Thanks for your help and time.

Sorry, but as of now, no version of Atmos works in 8.0. You can try V4A instead.

I have a note 8 n950FD and it has the official firmware 8.0 oreo i wanted to install the official update pie through the phone itself ( autoupdate) however as far as i know there is no reliable method to root note 8 on Pie yet. therefore i was wondering if i can do the pie update and than if i do not like it go back to oreo 8.0 and than root my note 8?
is this possible or dose installing the update somehow prevents you from rooting when you go back to older firmware?
i want to root so i can install viper4android and other audio mods but i dont know how good is the dolby atmos sound mod on the official Pie firmware.

I'm currently using DotOS A11 and have flashed a dolby module, but Tidal still doesn't recognize as Dolby Atmos Device.

This is driving me insane too! I'd say that Dolby Atmos is somewhere in the stock image that we could potentially extract and use but I cannot open up the .img file to see the packages for Dolby Atmos. (I am using GSI on Xiaomi 11t pro)
