Anyone else get ripped off in the Trade-In program for the X4?
I had two Nexus 6p devices to trade, and ordered two X4s. Got my X4s promptly, but they only sent one trade in package. When I asked for the other one they flat-out refused to send it and said I would need to send back my X4 and order another one in order to receive another trade-in envelope. Despite numerous customer service reps saying this wasn't right, they stuck to it and would not send the trade in kit. After a month of back and forth, I agreed to send back the X4 as requested -- but they said it was now too late!!
The other 6p was sent in the day we received the trade in envelope in mid-October.
Last week, I *finally* received the $50 credit that was promised. And yesterday, I received my trade in credit of $15.41. Yes, you read that right: $15.41.
Project Fi claims that I did not send in the device on time, AND that it would not power on.
The 6p was in pristine condition when I sent it THREE months ago.
I refused their trade in offer and requested them to return my device (as it allows in their trade in terms & conditions) and now they are stonewalling with generic responses.
I am out $300+ on the devices and $50 on the trade in they wouldn't allow, plus the $800 I spent on the new phones. Unreal!
Needless to say, I am cancelling my Project Fi service. I am trying to decide whether to keep or sell the X4's.

You should report this in /r/projectfi
Specifically check the sidebar of that subreddit and click on Make a Reddit Request! It will be a hassle but if you can communicate everything to them they may be able to help.
There were many other people that also had issues with the trade-in program. I think the FI team had a breakdown with their 3rd party vendor that was handling the trade-ins. They stopped processing them for about a week, when it first started to try and sort out issues.
My Project Fi devices trade in experience
Very first week of offer I bought a Moto X4 to replace my spare cracked screen, no power on Nexus 5x. I received phone quickly, trade in was delayed and was informed by Fi account. 2 weeks later received trade in envelope returned and more delays. Project Fi email of delays with trade in devices...Xmas time frame so waited and received 56.25 trade in allowance, actually slightly more than quote. Did get Project Fi credits.
I was very disappointed with being stuck with 7.1 and Nov update...with mightysween troubles on twrp and rooting....believe me I was watching every day....Thank you for your HUGH amount of work...
I decided to by a Pixel 2 with Google store credit and received device and waiting for trade in kit for my other Nexus 5x which has a $150 trade in value....now still waiting received email of delays...I did receive the buy device discount and
Project Fi credits.
I kinda like Moto X4 with Oreo really keeping for spare "cheap" Project Fi, I have only one carrier in my home area.
US Cellular and marginal Sprint / T mobile.
Wow, now I feel lucky that I got full value without incident ($150 for Nexus 6p + $50 fi credit).
I did have to wait 2 weeks after sending in my phone before they evaluated and credited it, and the fi credit took 2 months to show up, but nothing like your disaster.
Like the previous person said, sounds like the 3rd party service google used to do the trade-ins, wasn't up to par.
I'm surprised google hasn't stepped in to help you out.
I sent in a Nexus 6, my wife a 5. It took my wife about 1.5 months, and my trade-in took two months to process. Hers went through fine, full credit, etc. Mine had a similar response, saying that I didn't send it in on time, and that I hadn't done a full factory reset in my case. I detailed the day I received my X4, and then detailed the extensive process I went through to clear the phone, including the factory reset, then factor re-imaging the phone, relocking the boot loader, etc. Inside of 2 hours of filing the ticket, I had full credit for the phone.
I suspect that many of the "won't boot" issues are directly related to the battery degradation phones like the 6p were seeing, combined with a 2-3 month time before they analyzed the phones. From the number of cases, it is clear they aren't plugging them in on a fail to boot scenario. Can I assume you have done a reddit support request to try to get this resolved?
My trade in took over a month for them to receive and evaluate, but just got an email this week saying they got it. Still waiting on my Black Friday rebate though which I was told would be applied in 4-6 weeks.
As of my last complaint (which included past complaints/case #s) their response was that a specialist would reach out to me "sometime next week"... it has been 8 days. Absurd.
I am really not interested in anything other than them a.)proving by carrier tracking # that I sent the device late, and b.)taking back the credit and sending me my device per the terms of the trade in agreement.
If it really is DOA, so be it. I can probably sell it for parts and do better than 15 bucks.
But my suspicion is that they have NO idea where that device is. Time will tell.

They actually changed the terms after the initial offer, removing the "send it back", or so I had read on a thread on Reddit. You had 30 days from receipt of the x4 to send it back--you can probably prove to them the date the X4 was received based on their shipping e-mails and such. I'm sorry you are having such problems with this--I really really want you to stay working on this phone!

Make a Reddit request in r/projectfi - they have access to Google to escalate issues.
I have been "escalated" to upper tiers of service several times. The issue is that there is NO follow up on their end.
They all seem to agree that I was ripped off, but that there is nothing they can do about it.
I am already moving on from Fi service back to an MVNO that at least doesn't scam their customers. But I WILL be getting my 6p back, or fair market value... even if it costs me 10x as much to do it.
Good luck on this one guys, they f-ed me over on my trade in as well. I did send it back a little later than I initially thought I would. It took them almost 2 months to process the return.
I sent in the phone, box, charger, everything that it originally included when I bought the phone. My phone was unlocked / rooted and I relocked it, fully wiped it out and returned it to stock.
Google claimed the phone was not factory reset (bullshiz) and that they didn't receive it within time and the credit was something like $15 bucks, when the phone (Nexus 6) was perfect in every way, shape and form.
I had a 2nd Nexus 6 to send back in as I bought two (2) of the Moto X4's and didn't even bother on the 2nd phone due to the way Google handled the 1st return.
No issues with my trade in, got the full quote. Pretty streamlined process was my experience.
My Fi trade in for the Moto X4 was great. I have been waiting for a trade in Credit on my Pixel 2 from Dec 22 and still shows on my Project Fi account page a trade in (worth 150 at posting of details for initial Trade in Credit of my Nexus 5x). A couple of no return responses on the project Fi feedback button. So who knows.
The moral of the story is to never trade in anything with anybody. The cost of your time and the gamble of problems makes it not at all worth it. If you think they care that you will cancel your service, think again. And if you think you will get better service elsewhere, think again. We no longer live in a customer service oriented society. And to be honest, I don't think we should. There are too many people out there who try to jack the man and sponge everything they can. People seem to have this sense of entitlement that sickens me to the core. Ah, but I digress. Sorry about your troubles, mate.
Have to agree. Why trade and lose 40-50% of it's value, and then have to worry if they will follow through.

I am glad you were able to find some level of relief by venting your frustrations here. It always makes me chuckle a little, though, when people say they are no longer doing business with X and will switch to Y. The fact is, customer service is largely dead on this planet. You (or many others) will have the same crappy service with vendor Y eventually. Switching every time you have a bad experience is not going to solve your problem. In fact, it is only going to make your life harder. I wish you luck though. By the way, trade-ins are a huge waste of time; no matter what carrier you are doing the deal with.

My Nexus 6P had 0 cracks, screen in perfect condition, turned on, factory reset.
I contacted them asking why the low value, and they said they would re-check my phone to tell me the details.
I'm waiting for their reply.

Basically I went through 2 G2X's with them. It wouldn't have been so bad where it not the fact that it took about a week to ship the phone to them and get it back and by the second one, I was worried that I may not want to keep the T-Mobile service so I just gave up and decided to buy locally. The problem was that Cellhub wanted a restocking fee for the SECOND defective phone of $25, then they charged me $10 for the pleasure of having to send the brick of a phone back, AND I had to pay for shipping($15). So dealing with that much hassle with Cellhub on a phone that is known to be defective (Come on, we all know this, the issues this phone has given me led me here) is just not worth the "savings" you'd get. I wasted $50 on literally nothing thanks to cellhub. A week later I went to a local T-Mobile store and it looked like Cellhub somehow screwed me over with Tmobile and I wasn't allowed to get the phone for the upgrade price. So if I wanted it at the store it would have cost me full price! Basically Cellhub was trying to blacklist me with T-Mobile. T-Mobile was great and we cleared it up (seriously, best Customer service for cell phones, I really hope At&t is denied to purchase them), but it soured me from ever buying from cellhub or even hinting at someone to buy it from there. If I could prevent one person from going through the hell I went through, I will be more then happy to write my story down.

My experience has been fine. They have done everything they've said for me.
They sent me my first return w/no problems. The 2nd return, they deferred to T mobile. But he was nice about it, explaining that that is the process. He made sure I had no questions. Also made it a point to tell me to get back to them if I had any problems with the 2nd return. The credit for the free activation won't show for three months or so.
I did have to pay for next day both ways, but that was my idea and my decision. They were gonna send it 2 day. I had a loaner from T mobile that was crap and did not want to wait a week.
I'm not sorry I went through them myself. I would do it again. They are selling this phone for a good price. I always get a real person quickly, which I love. It isn't their fault I've had problems. My daughters G2X is problem free.

If you get a working phone CellHub would appear to be great. But a TRUE measure of a company is how they handle returns. I had a defective Core i7 980x (a $1,000 processor mind you) and Newegg did a cross ship without charging me on the new one sent in, all I had to do was send in the defective CPU. The whole process took 2 days and I recieved a return shipping label for the defective product. THATS how you handle returns. Cellhub is a joke by comparison. A true measure of an online store is how they handle returns, not sales. Cellhub is not there for you after the sale, so I would avoid them.
Cellhub vs Newegg is not a good comparison, because Newegg offered ****ty customer service when it first started too, only until a few years ago they got a lot better in order to compete with amazon's customer service.
I bought my G2x from cellhub they are okay. I was very lucky to be one of the few to receive a non-defective unit. So hopefully you will get a non-defective device. But since G2x has so many quality control problems I would not have bought it from cellhub because if anything is wrong with it you would have a headache with the return (any online retailer that is). I would have suggested you to get it a local tmobile store because you can drive to the store and ***** at them versus an online retailer you cant really do that much.
I ordered 2 cell phones from Cellhub about 6 years ago. First issue was that I was switching carriers and porting my number. I was assured that my old phone would work until I got the phone and had it switched myself. Not so, the numbers were switched immediately before the phones shipped and my wife and I had no phone service until our phones came in over a week later. One phone was fine for 2 years until we quit using it. The other was an obvious refurb that they honored with the 1 year warranty, but I had to send it in for repair through whatever service they used. I had to send it in twice times for different issues. First was it stopped installing anything I had bought and downloaded, which I dealt with until the bluetooth stopped working. After that the screen died. Then 3 days after my warranty expired the keys quit working and I was out of luck. They wouldn't do anything about it even though it was obvious there were issues with the phone before and I had sent it in twice before for a couple weeks each time. Not that I expected that they would do anything even though it was three days, but it did guarantee I will never go back.
Hope your experience is better and that they have improved since then.

Well, I knew what the return terms were when I bought them. I made sure to check the return policy. So the return shipping, while I see your point, wasn't really an issue for me.
I'm more concerned with how much of a fight it is to make the return. They exchanged the first one quickly and with no hassles.
I knew that going mail order was a bit risky. But as I said, I've been pleased with cellhub. From my experiences with them, they've been very helpful and professional.

So you wanted to exchange a defective phone and Cellhub wanted to charge you $25. restocking, fee, $15.00 shipping, AND $10.00 (for what?) for a total of $50.00 for an exchange.....for a defective phone....that was still under warranty?? Boy, I'd be pissed off.
Hence my hatered of cellhub, I spent $50 on nothing. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in long island against them. Cellhub is pure scum.Avoid!!!!

All,
I would encourage you to join me in filing a formal complaint with the Attorney Generals Office within Washington State.
I have made serveral attempts to get T-Mobile to resolve the situation I am having with my G2X. I have had 3 different G2X phones which all reboot on their own.
The only solution T-Mobile can provide me is to suffer and wait for the software update or pay full price for another phone.
I don't find either solution to be satisfactory. I have escalated the issue to a Manager which didn't do any good. I also tried emailing the T-Mobile Executive Customer Service Team (of course no reply).
I filed a formal complaint this morning with the AG. I think we should all be intitled to trade the phone in for another model or be allowed to cancel our contracts.
I will let you know what comes out of this.

Tmo really said tough cookies or buy another phone? I'm having a hard time believing that. They either will offer you a replacement G2x (which you've obviously done) or after 3-4 swaps, offer you a different phone if you ask for it.
I can't picture them telling you to fork over another 500 for another phone.
Thank you. It's irresponsible to release a phone without any QC, then take months testing an update to fix the problems that should have been fixed before launch. A class action law suit may be in order if Tmo doesn't release the mythical update that will fix everything. In all honestly we have a case with the twitter feeds of tmo and lg promising an update to fix the issue show that they were knowledgeable that the phone they were shipping was defective at launch. Not to mention the ocean of forums and news articles reporting the same problem.

GideonX, that's not true in my case. I tried my damnest to get something else after four phones. T Mo is happy to send me another G2X as the last two came, no box, battery, cover ....nothing, just a phone. I refuse to take a fifth. I was not offered anything else except another G2X, no matter how many people I talked to.
I am going to pay the contract price for the Sensation.
Tell me what I need to do to sign on the complaint. I may start one in Texas too. My problem is, I'm on my forth and they won't offer me a Sensation without me paying for it? How many bad ones do I get before it's on them? I've jumped through hoops here.
And now my daughters much vaunted fault free G2X is now getting hinky as well. Just over a month old.
And I sent an email to the execs (with addresses from consumerist.com) at T Mobile too....not one single reply. No one will answer because they are swamped with complaints I'm thinking.

You're right, Let's just have T Mobile and LG take care of the 2 out 3 bad ones. Oh yeah.
Same thing happened to me. I filed a complaint with the BB and the AG. Received a call from a higher up at Tmo 3 days later who instructed me to return my two G2X's for a full refund and removal of the 2 year extension to my contract. That was after 7 calls to them. Finally got to the highest level of tech support who told me I was too smart for them and that they knew they couldnt argue with my logic about continually replacing the device even though they were knowingly sending me another defective unit. Phones are shipping back today.
The replacement phone is the SGS 4g, which is a downgrade IMO. I just received my fifth phone, I know it's a refurbish because I contacted a rep last Thurs. and the phone was sent on Friday (new phones are on back order). I would have been within my 14 day exchange period, but when phone #3 had the heat up and shut down issue T-Mobile told me I didn't not need to exchange the phone, just the battery. Exchanged battery and it still died. Phone #4 had really, really bad screen bleed. The phone they just delivered, phone #5, has wi-fi issues and screen bleed. About to call and speak with a rep and demand either they send me a new G2X (new box, new battery, etc) or give me my money back as I was duped into letting my 14 day exchange period lapse.
I have been with T-Mobile for almost 10 years and have never complained. T-Mobile really screwed the pooch here on QC.
I have never had a problem getting what I wanted by calling 611. That's really unfortunate that they aren't helping you out but maybe you're asking the wrong questions. Also, I get the most help by staying calm and collected. Hope things get better for you.

That sucks.They didn't offer any other options? Because for me, a big part of the equasion is how well T Mobile has treated me overall. So are you going to stay with T Mobile? How did you leave it with them? You canceled?
Even though they are more expensive I've liked how they've treated me on an individual basis, person to person. I get live people easily who are overall empathetic and knowledgable. Some may argue that. I've pissed a few off the reps off, and they still remain civil and respectful.
I think it's too bad. This is actually a huge problem for them. They have to be careful how much they do for people don't they? It could get very expensive.
Just a few more comments as I have read the replies:
1. I too was squeezed out of my remorse period by going through the phone exchange process. As everybody knows, it takes time to get a replacement, try it, send it back, get a replacement, etc....
2. Truly, the only options T-Mobile gave me after having three phones with the same issue 1. get another G2X 2. buy another model, or 3. wait for the software. All three options were not satisfactory to me as nobody can tell me when the software will happen (summer is all I get).
3. I am going to stay with T-Mobile and wait to see how the AG complaint works out. Its a big company against me.
4. Somebody made the comment about only 1 or 2 people having the issue and asked why we didn't have T-Mobile just deal with it rather than escalate. The fact is, many of these phones have problems. T-Mobile has been sending internal memos to their employees giving talking points, etc. about phone calls which come in regarding.

I will probably wait out the SGS II on Verizon and jump ship. I have been pretty impressed with T-mo's support in general. However when I talk to a retention rep and they tell me that my battery life and freezing/locking up are part of the Android OS since the G1, thats where I draw the line. I then spoke with the their supervisor who told me that they have been using android for 5 (???) years and this is just what I should expect from Android. I should be clearing my Phone logs and txt messages daily to ensure proper functionality of the phone.
I was offered continual replacements until the problem fixed itself. When speaking with the top teir they told me that LG has to agree to what phone you receive if you are getting a comparable phone. Usually it is never a like trade. It was at that point she recommended I check out some of the online communities to see if they had a solution. She couldnt "officially" recommend it but said there might be a solution on one of them. I told her I was an active member of xda and that I already ripped the phone apart to no successful end.
Well, The phones do have issues for sure. My G2X is on the lighter side of the issue pool with only the occasional reboot and shut down that requires a battery pull. Oh and I can't forget the damn Data connection bouncing between 4G and nill like a superball on meth any time I try to actually use my Unlimited-Limited Data plan. (2GB with speed capped is not unlimited but I knew this when I paid for the service.)
I don't know what the AG can or really will do about something like this. A private attorney could possible make a case for a defective unit that was intentionally sold knowing it was defective. But proving someone KNEW something is kinda difficult. It would be fairly fruitless unless T-mo made a blanket statement and refused to support us anymore at all. The contracts are very well worded to specifically make moves like this a non-issue for T-mo.
I'm on hold trying to get a replacement battery to see if that helps, I know it wont but a second battery would be nice anyway. I love my G2X, and honestly I'd do it over again knowing what I know now because Ive had countless hours of enjoyment playing games on it, and just using it.
***Edit: And just like that they are shipping me a replacement Battery. I'm finding it hard to be upset with the T-mo support people. ***
OP, I know someone in the AG's office in Olympia. I sent them a one-pager of my experiences to add to yours. They actually have a case open against T-Mobile for unfair business practices having to do with terms disclosure so the handling of the G2X issues can easily be added to that. And you don't still have to have the phone in order to get involved. If the AG's findings are against T-Mobile there's a shot at remedy and/or financial compensation for both current and former Washington owners. And if Washington sites T-Mobile, others in other States can forward the findings to their AG which makes it easier to get the case picked up.

i dont have a hard time believing that...they said the same crap to me when i went thru 6 refurbished G2 phones in a little over a month, 4 of them in about one weeks time because they were defects out of the box. they offered me various phones which none were acceptable to me, and then they decided to tell me that i can pay full retail, or contact HTC for repairs, which i thought was dumb because HTC fixed the refurbs so why would i go thru more work for the same results?
honestly, these phone makers are so worried about production they dont give a **** about quality and performance, because they know some sucker will pay full retail for the next supposed better model.

However when I talk to a retention rep and they tell me that my battery life and freezing/locking up are part of the Android OS since the G1, thats where I draw the line. I then spoke with the their supervisor who told me that they have been using android for 5 (???) years and this is just what I should expect from Android. I should be clearing my Phone logs and txt messages daily to ensure proper functionality of the phone..

yea thats bull****! i had a directv rep tell me it can take up to 8 MINUTES, yes minutes for an hd channel to tune in when i complained about how slow my box was. i was told in a store that the G2x requires more charging when i went to swap my battery out, i said maybe so, but in reality my G2 under 4 times the usage got me a whole days use, the G2x battery got me half a day under less use, so that makes no sense at all. i can see charging it half way thru the day with the same use as my G2.....they really think most customers are that stupid and will listen to anything their big corporate brother tells them. for the time i used android, erasing stuff never made my phone work better except on my G1 where i limited my SMS to 25 per thread, as my messaging app was always slow unless i deleted them. these reps will tell you anything just to get your ass off the phone
i remember when i was a sales rep the crap they wanted us to tell people on why a phone was laggy, or slow, etc. remember that pile of crap, the moto Q? instead of dealing with the problems they had and the complaints, i would just tell people that they were piles of crap and dont bother....instead they wanted us to say that an extended battery will resolve the lack of battery life...so someone that wants a nice thin phone cant have a nice thin phone with that battery!!! so lets move on to another device. oh, the trackwheel/pad sucks? they would tell us to tell people windows will constantly update the device to work better. year right.... well how about blackberry, its a lot smoother...thats my answer!!

I got my replacement battery today. So I went back to my stock backup (from CM7) and put in my new battery (read 86%) which had a "build date" of about a month after my first one.
The phone reset itself in less than 30 minutes while charging to full...
tl;dr Phones sold by Gazelle can still be blacklisted.
I purchased two iphone 5's from Gazelle last December 2013, for a Christmas gift for my mother-in-law and one for my wife.
A few days ago, my mother-in-law contacted me to tell me the phone was no longer receiving service.
After trying everything I could find about fixing it, I finally contacted T-Mobile, and discovered that the phone's IMEI has just been blocked due to non-payment by the original owner(!)
Just to clarify, this phone has been in daily use since Xmas Day 2013 (~11 mos)!
The T-Mobile rep told me that the original owner had been making payments all this time, but recently closed their account, and were sent a final bill. The bill was 10 days past due and at that time T-Mobile automatically blacklists the IMEI.
I bought these phones specifically from gazelle and paid more for them as a result, as I believed they were essentially guaranteed against this sort of thing.
I even contacted them before my purchase asking them if their phones were checked:
"Thank you for your interest! We do test all items to confirm availability for activation by you upon receipt. Unless otherwise noted in the listing, this item has been tested and is clear."
It turns out, this doesn't mean the device will remain that way after you receive it. An important fact that they continue to omit in their eBay listings.
I contacted their support yesterday and was told that the unit is outside of their 30-day return window and they can not help me further.
As far as I'm concerned, they didn't actually sell me anything. They sold a device that still had a lien against it, and now that it is blacklisted, I basically paid $400+ to rent it for the past 11 months. Technically, this iPhone is still the property of T-Mobile...Gazelle basically sold me stolen merchandise.
I've since opened a complaint with the BBB and am hopeful they will come to a resolution on this issue.
Moral of the story is: Don't think that just because you're buying from a bigger operation, that your phone is free and clear and ownership has been legally transferred to YOU.
As a matter of fact, you can even read Swappa's TOS and you will find a very loose policy on blacklisted IMEI/ESN's. They basically say you're only recourse is PayPal's 45-day dispute window.
Buying from these sites is really not any different than craigslist or a random seller on eBay.
The only way to really guarantee your device is free and clear forever is to buy a new one.

Just to follow up, I received the exchange iPhone yesterday and my issue is now resolved to my relief and satisfaction.
I am happy to say that Gazelle came through and made things right for me in the end. They also told me they are working with carriers on new ways to determine if devices are still under contract and/or still financed, to avoid issues like mine down the road.

This rma is for an issue I haven't seen here yet. The vibration device doesn't vibrate, it rattles loudly like a snakes tail. Defeats the purpose of "silent" vibration notifications at the office.
I should say I contacted support Friday to discuss the issue. They agreed to replace and start the process. Saturday I receive an email requesting order details to provide PRIOR to obtaining an rma for returning. I could have given them all this in Friday's chat season. In fact, since I ordered from razer direct they already have it. Starting to look like "mail in rebate" hurdles.
It's the first out of the box phone failure/issue I have ever had that required replacement. If you are on the fence about this phone you should pass.
It's a known issue.. I ordered the gold edition and it was perfect for a little while and it seems to get worse the more I use it. I don't really pay much attention to it anymore.. but I've got a S9+ sitting next to me which is the best Galaxy phone I've used ever..so I may just be returning my Razer. I love the phone, but I've had to use my Galaxy for call details (it's broke right now on Razer) and my cantacts are all jacked up for some reason so I think it's another bug on Razers end. I could put it down for awhile until they update, but then I've got a $650 phone just doing nothing on my desk. With the Razer 2 being announced a little later this year and pixel 3 coming out.. this phone doesn't seem worth the headache anymore.
Update: Be aware that the Razer return policy is essentially no returns. They give you 14 days from purchase date to request full refund.
Considering it takes 3-4 days from order to receipt, you're down to 10 days.
I used it 2 days before giving up and contacting customer service. It took me 3 days to get an rma.
Their prepaid shipping (I shipped very next day) burns another 3 days. I monitored fedex delivery and contacted support the day it showed delivered.
It took 2 days for them to respond. When they did I said I reconsidered and would like a full refund. I was told "sorry, your 14 days are up". First I've heard of that limitation.
Obviously their entire process is configured to run out the clock.

It's 14 days from purchase to start the RMA process not to get the faulty device to them. Since Nov, I've changed 3 Razer Phones due to Android bugs (not hardware issues), replacements that they offered to exchange for the faulty ones - not something I requested specifically - wanted to inform the about those specific issues. The last one (2nd Razer Phone) I send on the May 4th and today I received it back (the 3rd brand new one). Their CC is blazing fast and without any hassle (at least on EU).
I know I can rma for more flakey replacements numerous times.
My last post was to inform that the return for refund policy may as well not exist as they start the 14 day clock from purchase date, no matter how long you wait for arrival. Then further hoops you must jump through effectively eliminate your refund window.
Why should anyone be content returning a device 2-3 times until you get one that is acceptable? In 30 plus years of cell phone use I've never had a hardware failure out of the box until razer.
I'm just supporting my opinion to avoid razer with the facts of my case. If you're happy with your situation that's cool. I'm not cool with mine, and am just sharing my experience with the community.

any one notice min has went strangely quiet about the Razer phone these days, we still can't choose where the phone saves pictures, adaptable storage don't work under Oreo, build quality is mediocre I think we were sold a lemon all the promise of fixes and rapid updates have vanished

The phone was a major disappointment.
Ditched it for a Mi Mix 2 and love it. Better camera, better build quality and materials. Actual custom ROMs to install too..
I ask because after I waiting a week I initiated a chat with them and the box finally showed up last week. I boxed my 6T up and sent it off over the weekend. Looks like the return label generated is ground shipping which is BS since they don’t do the trade ins like Samsung (give you credit contingent on the phone being in the condition you actually described it). Since you are without your personal device that is highly inconvenient. So it won’t get to its destination until Friday this week. Then they say it may take a few days after that for someone to assess it. Now the website has the shipping times at 10 days. That is crazy. Had I known this process would’ve been this long and drawn out I wouldn’t have bothered doing it. Anyone else going thru this madness? Just seems highly inconvenient for a consumer

Cash back has to be done 15 days from purchase. It's mentioned in the FAQ. Voucher is done prior to ordering a 7P. I have backup phones, so someone with 1 device would do cashback.
Hahaha no way. It's a trade in program come on now when are these ever fair to the consumer.... Oh never and this is proof. I had my 8/128 6T in perfect condition appraised by there little trade in program. They were only offering 240 for it and I already I knew it was going to be a hassle with sending it back and inspected so I just laughed really hard at their pathetic offers. I put my phone on offer up and soold it for 400 in just a couple days before the 7 pro came out and I ordered it right away. The best option any of you have if you're looking to make some money out of your current devices then you should sell them yourselves. You will deal with at least headache and hassle.
If you can sell it yourself,do,put an add on marketplace on Facebook,local buy and sell,anything.You won't get anywhere near what it's worth from trade ins,
Me personally I like to try and sell the phone myself but can agree sometimes it can be frustrating dealing with people who like to drive down the price and get the best deal off you,for a quick sale and better prices use shops like CEX in the UK and Ireland, although their prices can be dodgy too at times

The values are quite fair, if not great for other brands. Samsung, Apple, and Moto aren't too bad. For example, an iPhone SE gives 110- about half of what a 6T provides. Some phones give 600+ towards 7 Pro.
I sell things in my personal time, but I don't always the time to physically meet buyers on CL, OU, LG, etc. Online includes fees, that's why I didn't list my phone on eBay/swappa.

There no where near fair. Stop defending them cause you're falling for their trade in scam. Yeah there probably are some phones that will get about 600 for phones that originally cost double that value. But those ones are still getting ripped off badly because you can easily sell your device for a price more to your liking. And if you actually read up on this you would know that no one gets the same offer from OnePlus even if they're devices are in the same conditions they simply offer some people more and some less. I've already seen it happening.
Sold my 6T on Swappa for $440 with a few extra cases. After fees and shipping, cleared about $400. Not saying selling is for everyone but I picked up the 7 pro for only $665 with student discount.

I had a 6T with 8/256GB.
The trade in was $270. I sold it for $475.
The trade in is a joke.

Fair has many definitions and you assumed the wrong one. I never said their values were praiseworthy nor equal to sellling. Google gave 250 for an SE, whereas it's only 110 thru OP.
Actually you'd be hard pressed to get 110 for an iPhone SE 32 after all fees (ship, marketplace, and PP)... I'm familiar with Ingram/Phobio, and know that values can fluctuate from start to end. Those that have dealt with Samsung have heard the horror stories for mint phones.
I have no horse in this race, and neither company has done anything for me. I'm simply stating how select trades are okay. Here are confirmed amounts: SE 110, G7 210, Z2 120, v30 190, S7e 140, 8+ 440.
I was an avid SWAPPA user for years. I was selling phones with little issue. Last year I bought a S9+ and sold it a few months after for $650 with no issues. A year later the guy lodges a complaint on swappa but I didnt see it because the email address my account corresponds to on there is an address I check only once and a while. So about 2 weeks had passed from the original complaint being lodged before I responded. Once i did see if I felt terrible but started making phone calls (HE and I were both on T-Mo so I called them immediately to ask why they flagged the phone as stolen even though I had bought it from Samsung directly. The lady i spoke to said that all he had to do was call them and they would lift it. I also called Samsung because my receipt didnt show the IMEI of the phone I purchased and I wanted to get detailed billing showing I legit purchased the phone. Samsung was unable to provide that info even though they verbally confirmed the IMEI was correct (a whole other issue I have). So anyway I responded back on swappa with all this detail and the original buyer wasnt really responding to the site admins and I.
What i didnt know was he lodged a complaint against me on paypal at the same time. Paypal didnt notify me (They claim they called but I had no missed calls from Paypal. I find out about a month after all of this was Paypal account had been charged back for the phone. This guy now has his money back and a perfectly fine Samsung S9+ and I am out the money and no phone. So yeah I USED to sell phones but after this ordeal.....being screwed for a phone I sold a year before......Yeah I'm done with selling phones now......not when the risk is this. I'd rather take the hit on a trade in. I'm still angry about the situation but the guy lives in Michigan and while it may be worth going to there...I dont trust myself on what I might do. I'm taking this as a lesson. **** selling used phones now.

Sounds like we sent it at the same time. Delivery time is for today as well. I didn't realize it would take so long and i have international travel on the 12th planned. I can't use my work phone so I may have to have someone mail me the phone from here.

Hope you dont get ****ed over like I did.
I totally spaced on the cash back option. I just went ahead and bought it now...I know it puts the value I would get back out 15 days + whatever time it takes for me to get the handset in my hand but I couldn't take the chance of waiting for them. I'll take the cash back option after a few weeks. Still inconvenient but a bit better.
