What is this?
Basically by installing this application, as soon as you receive a notification, the front flash of your phone starts blinking as it were a notification LED.
It can be useful to all those (but not only) that have a device without the notification LED, but instead have a flash next to the selfie camera.
Various settings are also available to better configure the application to suit your needs.
It works on all devices equipped with a front flash, regardless of whether or not it has the hardware notification LED.

Hello everyone!
Basically by installing this application, as soon as you get a notification, your phone's front flash starts blinking as it were a notification LED. It can be useful to all those who have a device without the notification LED, but instead have a flash light next to the selfie camera.
It also apply the concept of notification to the unread badges received from the applications (e.g the "Facebook like"). I mean, in the same way as a notification when an unread badge occours the flash starts blinking.
Various settings are available to better configure the application to suit your needs.

Not exactly. Moto Z & Z2 both have an hidden front led that sometimes show up during power off charge.
There are some (bad developed) apps which, using root, are able to enable it BUT they don't work very well and interfere with display luminosity... so if this app would be well customized, it could use it...

Hi,
thanks for your brief esplanation dude.
Just to clarify... does this app detect this sort of hidden flash?
This app is designed to use a real hardware front flash... so, does it work on Moto Z and Z2 or not?
Thanks in advance

Use Pin Note to place customisable notifications in the notification area to be used as reminders, notes or application shortcuts. Pressing the notification will start a specified action, for example start your text messaging app, email app or dial a phone number directly. Obviously I will be adding further actions and functionality as time progresses. Any suggestions? Let me know.

I have just uploaded the latest APK to the Play Store just before writing the post, it'll take a little time to appear but it will be there.
I've just checked and the Play Store has just updated with latest description, screenshots and APK. Also if anyone wants to submit bugs if they use the app and find anything then either just reply or submit here: https://bitbucket.org/roryrjb/pinnote/issues.
Again sorry no actual link because I'm below 10 posts.
I've added a few more options:
- Persistent Notification (have to clear from app, won't swipe to clear)
- Timer Notification (will count for as long as notification is active, to see how long it has been there)
- LED Notification (if your device supports it, the LED will flash every 5 seconds for as long as the notification is active)
I've also tweaked the notification layout slightly and a ticker also appears as well.
Version update:
Version 0.3.1.1 (Alpha)
- Fixed Intents.
- Added Contacts Selector.
Please find new APK attached to the first post. Play Store updating as I type.
I downloaded the latest copy for testing >>> had a parsing error pop up when I went to install it.
is that just me or what? BTW this application looks promising. Has great potential and I want to help you out
I can create a new icon or re-design the one you currently have to make it more professional or I can do a new UI design for you? Just let me know I love helping others out!
I use Notif Pro but this looks interesting. Going to give this a shot.

It's been a little while but I have updated. Notifications can be customised and then set to appear at set times. The free version (a Pro version will come along eventually) is limited to 4 reminders at a time. Whilst I have now classed this as Beta there still may be issues or bugs. As always any bug reporting or feedback is welcome.

New version with some significant changes. Again this won't be a perfect release as I am adding more and more functionality. Your time, comments or bug reports are greatly appreciated.
New screenshots will be attached to the OP shortly.
Update Attached
I realised in the last update I didn't add some resources for non-XHDPI devices, they have now been added in this latest update (v0.9.5.4).

Changelog:
3.0.2063:
- The app is now out of beta, because of that no changelog was posted, but to not let this version pass by, lets do the usual:
- Performance improvments
- Bugfixes and stability improvments
OLD:
3.0.2051:
A message which explains how to navigate back to the Player screen, by clicking on the timer at the top of the screen (some Beta users told us they found the Player difficult to find).
An invitation to rate the app in Store. Not that this is not yet fully working.
3.0.2011:
Today we’re releasing another update to the MixRadio app. The main changes in this version are bug fixes and stability/performance improvements.
We’ve also updated the app icon.
We’d be grateful if you’d install the new version and let us know what you think of it on UserVoice.
Know Issues:
Artwork for offline mixes can sometimes temporarily disappear.
2.2.1942:
• Audio Quality. You can now listen to mixes in high quality audio. This works for both online and offline mixes. By default, MixRadio will play music in high quality if you’re on a WiFi connection, and fall back to standard quality over mobile data. But you can change this via a new Audio Quality option under Settings.
• Bluetooth. We’ve improved how the app works over Bluetooth connections and also with wired headphones.
• An improved Settings menu.
We’ve also fixed some bugs, including one that many of you reported with notifications. Plus we’ve improved how the app downloads mixes to listen to offline.
We’d be grateful if you’d install the new version and let us know what you think of it on UserVoice.
IMPORTANT. Before installing the new version of MixRadio you must first uninstall the old version.
And after installing the new version you’ll need to sign back in to your account. You’ll also lose any mixes you’d previously created or taken offline. Sorry about that.

Wow! What a cool idea. Saves precious seconds when launching the camera. Working great on my Moto G.
Bug: When my phone is in vibrate or silent mode, launching the camera changes the sound mode to normal.
custom camera setting would be nice. I'm using Camera Zoom FX instead of the built in camera most time.
Just noticed that Snapshot enables the camera when putting the phone into a docking station. It would be nice if this unwanted behaviour could be disabled, because I'm using dock clock.

It doesn't seem like it is working on my Nexus 7. I hold it like stated, but there's no activation. I could help with debugging it. As the tablet doesn't have vibration, I can't completely confirm I'm in the correct position. Maybe having some optional sound or toast would help with calibrating position.

Latest update broke the app
The latest update disabled the default landscape setting. No camera apps are listed. I'm using Google Camera from the Play Store which replaced the stock camera app on my N5. This may be because per app settings in the new update is limited to Pro versions but it was working just fine earlier.

I have 1 huge issue with this app. I use a dock to charge my phone so whenever I place my phone horizontally on the dock to charge which turns on the screen, the camera launches as well. Can a setting be placed to disable the app working when the phone is being charged?
EDIT: Also the option for the app to be disabled after X seconds after the screen is turned on would be nice. I believe now that after the screen it turned on in portrait mode and any time that it goes landscape after that launches the camera.
Love it
Works great on my rooted stock rom SGS4, would it be possible to choose the camera app you want to use in the settings, so we don't have to choose each time ? I'm an idiot works great.

LED Control
• So what does it do?
Lets the user select kernel specific "charging triggers" for the device's LED which will make it light up when plugged in depending on the specific "charging triggers"
• Why this app?
Well all of these triggers can be set from the command line, but I found it to be very cumbersome and tedious. Motivated by my laziness, I created this app. Although it was intended for the Moto G, I discovered that it would also work on Moto X, E and Nexus 6 too, theoretically on any device which has a "charging" LED.
• Features:
Clean and simple UI (I have tried my best to make it Material Design compliant)
Brightness Slider: Control your 'charging' LED's brightness while charging, if your device supports it. Currently works only on Moto X and Nexus 6.
Set On Boot [PRO only] : Automatically sets the last chosen trigger on a reboot, since the values are reset each time the kernel restarts. Available in Pro version only.
LED Color [PRO only] NEW : Choose between 3 LED colors if your device supports it (Nexus 6, Moto X, Droid Ultra). Available in Pro version only. (Read NOTE below)
Available triggers: (You may not see all in your device)
While Charging
While Charging through Adapter
Battery Full
While Charging or Battery Full
While Charging (Blnking) or Battery Full
While connected to USB
When Display is on
On Internal Storage I/O Activity
On External Storage I/O Activity
When flashlight (rear LED) is on
When camera flash (rear LED) is on
When Bluetooth is enabled
Always on
* ROOT ACCESS IS REQUIRED *• Instructions:
Grant Root access on first run
Enable the Master Switch
Select a trigger and optionally choose brightness.
Plug in your charger and see the magic
There are different triggers for different devices, so try experimenting
• Screenshots: (from Pro Version) (Screenshots are outdated; will update soon. Till then I recommend viewing them on Play Store itself)
NOTE:
This will 'enable' the hidden LED on your Moto X/Nexus 6. This app cannot set it to be used for notifications; it can only use it as a charging indicator.
The Brightness slider will not work on devices where there's a kernel limitation on setting the brightness- specifically the Moto G and Moto E.
Moto G and Moto X in this whole post refer to 2013 models only, I have not tested on 2014 models.
The app is tested and confirmed working on Nexus 6, Moto G, E, X and Droid Ultra/MAXX. However, it may also work on a Motorola phone other than the above, so give it a try, can't hurt
The newly added LED Color implementation is still in development and is not perfect, so you may encounter bugs. If so, kindly let me know. Thanks!
• Downloads:
Free Version: The APK is attached at the bottom of this post, but I recommend to download from Google Play to get automatic updates
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kdb.ledcontrolfree
Pro Version: If you like my work and wish to support me, please get LED Control Pro, which unlocks the Set On Boot feature too.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kdb.ledcontrol
P.S: Since I'm utterly new to Android/Java programming this app took me several hours spanned over several weeks to build. But it was an awesome experience and I had a heck of a time coding it. :good:
I look forward to making more apps in 2015.
• Reporting Compatibility: If this app works on your device, and its not among the ones mentioned above, please reply to this thread with your device's details or send me a PM.
• Source: This app is open source too! Grab it on Github here. Feel free to take a look and suggest fixes to imperfections, if any.
• WARNING
This app has the potential of blocking your notification LED if you use a Moto G/ Moto E (a separate LED blinks just beside the dedicated charging LED but you might not notice it).
Please be aware that I (KDB223), nor XDA nor anyone but you yourself are responsible for the consequences of you missing an important notification due to this app.

@KDB223
If I were you, I'd specify what Moto G/X variants does this runs on. I mean, you have a Moto G 2013 (the XT1033 model), so you tested it on that, but, have you tested it on the 2014 variants? If not it would be a good idea to specify that "this has been tested on the 2013 variants only".
Because there is some people who can be confused with the variants.
if this works as you say it does then youre a god.
anyone tried on nexus 6 ?
EDIT
works okish, on the paid version do u get more triggers?

No its just the ability to set it on boot automatically and basically donation.
I can look into adding more triggers if possible.

ok thanks
Just got it, confirmed on Nexus 6.
I got the paid version of it, would love to see more triggers and/or multi-select.
Thanks!
I am a bit confused. Does Moto G have 2 LEDs? One for charging and one for notifications? If so, why is the second LED disabled by default?

Another change log:
Motorola added the option to turn on/off Google Play Services from system settings.
This is why I LOVE Motorola China ROM - they OFFICIALLY allow GMS without the need to root or flash to Global Moto G100 firmware.

What is your concern with kernel version, GPU driver and modem firmware? I can't comment on those as I am on stock firmware. All I can is the device feels snappier but the camera seems to perform worse. Dynamic range was hit hard and details are softer. Image tends to overexpose as well.

here I am on version rrt31.q1-84-24-1 this update broke the grid autosport game and also the input lag of the PS4 controller I have is high, because of that my concern with kernel and gpu drivers. kernel of this version is 4.19.157 and gpu driver is 0502 02/10/22, I just wanted to compare the versions because normally the Chinese rom is the base for all roms, thanks for answering!
