Forum Rules
12. Sharing
XDA-Developers is based on the principle of sharing to transmit knowledge. This is the cornerstone of our site. Our members and developers freely share their experience, knowledge, and finished works with the rest of the community to promote growth within the developer community, and to encourage those still learning to become better. There are those, however, who take advantage of this model and try to make personal gains from the hard work of others.
In order to preserve the delicate balance between sharing for the good of the community and blatant self-promotion, regular members and developers alike must understand (and agree) to the following:
12.1. Give credits where due - Credits and acknowledgements for using and releasing work which is based on someone else's work are an absolute must. Works reported to have no credits will be taken down until proper acknowledgements are added by the member in question;
12.2. Courtesy - While most of the work released on our site falls under the umbrella of open source, that is not the only license model being used by developers on xda-developers. In order to prevent problems, we ask that if you decide to base your work on someone else's that you check the license model being used (as it might not be as permissive as one may think);
12.3. Re-releasing other's works as your own is forbidden. The code that you release into the wild must have something beyond minor aesthetic changes that makes it better than the last. As this can be subjective, kang reports will be reviewed on a case by case basis. If you feel that your code has been kanged, please contact the Dev Relations team (listed below) if you cannot solve the issue amicably via PM. Please understand that you will be asked to provide evidence to substantiate your claim;
12.4. Developers can issue take down requests (by contacting the Dev Relations team) under the following circumstances:
- in-process builds start showing up on forums when the developer is not yet ready to release the work;
- cases in which another developer is too aggressively soliciting donations or misrepresenting the work (kanging);
- unofficial builds where an official build is already available;
In summary, we want people to have access to work and knowledge alike. Sharing is good and courtesy and ethics go a long way.
Developers with questions, comments, complaints, or concerns about our rules (or anything!) should send a PM to our Dev Relations team (efrant or sykopompos) or to a Moderator. We are here to help!

We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.
Who is Team Carbon?
Find out here:
Carbon Team
Remember, every penny you send to us goes right back into the rom. It's used for hardware, server costs, etc - all the things that help us make Carbon better with every release. Your support means the world to us! If you've enjoyed Carbon, please consider a donation toward this goal. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy Carbon!

Kangers

So I have a question, one Rom Developer said that if he Kangs (copies) another ROM developer's work, as long as he puts his name in the credits then it is all good. He can copy any rom with little effort and then putting that person's name in the credits gets him out of the issue of copying another person's work. I hope this isn't someone taking advantage of a loophole in XDA's policies....
It depends on the developer,
if he does not mind then kang can do it.
If the developer minds and asks kang to stop and he does not, he could be banned if the developer complains to XDA.
Kang should get permission from the developer and give him credit where it is due.
Would Kanging apply if the work in question is not in the domain of XDA?
I KNOW of one Dev who doesn't post his work on XDA but has his muppets attack people on XDA for work not posted on the platform?

From the Forum Rules;
12. Using the work of others.
If you are developing something that is based on the work of another Member, you MUST first seek their permission and you must give credit to the member whose work you used. If a dispute occurs about who developed / created a piece of work, first try to settle the matter by private message and NOT in open forum. If this fails, you may then contact a Moderator and provide clear evidence that the work was created by you.
Convincing evidence will result in the copied work being removed. If there is no clear evidence that it was you who created the work, then in the spirit of sharing, all work will remain posted on the forums.
As an addition, developers have the right to hold exclusivity over their work for as long as it is deemed necessary by that developer. However, if the work is claimed as exclusive, it must remain as such. No selective sharing will be allowed (ie, allowing certain people to use it and not others). If the developer decides to start sharing the work with others, the work automatically becomes available for all to use, albeit with the relevant credit displayed.
When permission has already been given, unless there is a very valid reason, it cannot be revoked (same applies to major updates on the work). Under that same premise, permissions cannot be denied unless the work is exclusive or under extreme circumstances.
In plain English: If you want to keep your work exclusive, go for it. However, if you are going to share your work, do it fairly.
Reposted content, derivative or maintained works based on that of former or banned members may be removed at our discretion.
These rules apply to all software posted on XDA (including but not limited to ROMs, RUUs, apps, games, kernels, themes, icons, etc) unless that software comes with a license that waives these rules.

now,I warned SagarMakhar to stop releasing MIUI for X52X,
I've warned XXXXXXXXXXXXXX several times, please don't be a thief,
If you respect me, please indicate the source.
If you don't believe me,You can use Beyond Compare 3 to compare checks.
I want everyone to respect copyright and not steal other people's achievements.
Thank you for your support and understanding

#1 this thread is in the OTHER DEVELOPMENT section, there is no development going on, only discussion.
#2 There is a proper way to report someone who you think is improperly using your work, or used work with no credit, etc, and blasting it in a development thread is NOT the proper way. The original author needs to REPORT the offending user and document their original work, dates, checks, sources, etc.

UPDATE:
the team is having trouble with the dmvarity on the newer builds of android...

more testing is needed, and a better means of bypasing or disabling dm-varity with out modifying /boot
FOR NOW WE ARE LOOKING FOR MORE LOLLIPOP DEVICES TO TEST thanks,
The service is hosted at Team_Astr4y4L's website and we are working to extend the service to encompass a larger selection of devices.
For that Purpose We are offering people a chance to be a beta-tester and be one of the first to use the service for Thair particular device.
As I said there are several other projects going into Beta-Test also so if your interested check it out.
A lot of these projects will cost money once the devices and service are considered Proven Stable and working
As a beta tester you get in absolutely free of charge
To Participate you must fill out the beta test request form at our website and if your device isn't supported yet, you're almost guaranteed to get a spot on the crew.
This Thread will be kind of a Support thread for the FRP beta testers and a place to ask questions about the project

MOD Edit :- Links Removed
I hope this will be mutually helpful for the project and also the Users out there that have run out of options with their FRP locked device
