How to change boot animation to a custom one? - Sprint Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know that the boot animations for the Galaxy S5 are in a different format than a simple bootanimation.zip. Is there any way to change the animations then?

It should be as simple as using an application such as "root tools" where it allows you to change the boot animation. Or you can use a file explore such as "Adao File Manager" after root access and going into the boot files and replacing the animation with one of your own...

It will be with a custom kernel that allows for bootanimation.zip support.

Place any choice of bootanimation in system/media folder using root explorer or similar app
So I'm looking for the default boot animation of ICS for Nexus S
I've uploaded it here, this comes straight from the FULL Stock ROM. Copy it to /system/media/bootanimation.zip
Great, I have been looking for that too.
If you download rom toolbox from the market, It has several stock and custom boot animations including the nexus stock boot animation.
It works great, thanks!
Works for me too!

[Q] How to change bootanimation on sabsa prime?

Hi All,
I have Sabsa prime 15.0 on my saga and I want to change my bootanimation.
Usually I see people doing that by moving a bootanimation.zip to either /data/local or /system/customize/resource
My original bootanimation was in /system/customize/resource, so I replaced that one with my new bootanimation.
System was mounted as writable, and permissions are set.
However, my bootanimation is not showing up. I have no bootanimation at all.
What am I doing wrong here? Does the new bootanimation need to be in another location?

You cannot change the ba just like that, you need a third party app like boot animations or rom toolbox to change the files etc. I'm not sure I'm right but it works for me on all roms I use
I see only a way to enable/disable boot animation. Not flash a new one. Is that correct?

No, there should be different bootanimations to choose from and install or an option to choose the zip file of a custom bootanimation on this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...mNvbS5qcnVtbXkuYXBwcy5ib290LmFuaW1hdGlvbnMiXQ..
Ok that one works indd Thx for your help ifti768!

A screenshot or animated gif of your boot animation would be nice.
Off topic, your location in your profile isn't detailed enough. It should be C:\Universe\Virgo Supercluster\Local Group\Milky Way\Earth\Asia\India\Delhi.

it is so difficult to take a screen shot of bott animation but i have copy it from the zip ........
Link not working
Well, I notice one thing right off the bat. It's not "Galaxy S IV", but "Galaxy S4". Samsung ditched the Roman numerals starting with the S4.
Other than that, it looks pretty cool.

You can change your boot animation through
1)custom recovery ,you'll need a flashable zip version of the boot animation for this
2)root explorer ,get a root explorer and navigate to system folder and find bootanimation.zip and rename/delete it ,then copy the downloaded bootanimation.zip and replace it in the same location, finally set the permissions to r-w
I've tried all of that many times. Those methods do not work for my G925P with Renegade ROM. And I'm told my device uses the QMG boot animation files not the typical bootanimation.zip.
Thanks for the try.
