Hi everybody
I had to wipe my S7 edge due to the pattern not being recognized (known bug) and I would like to know if there is any hope recovering my pictures from my SD using software, when I googled "recover photos encrypted sd Android" the first page is full of software, some form easeus, rescue digital media, Yodot, etc, I even found one that say to just copy the files to a pc, wipe the SD card on phone, copy the files back to SD, encrypt SD and the decrypt and I should have my pictures back, I try this last step as it doesn't require any software but still wondering if any of the software mention will work
thanks

Hi everybody.
Is anybody has a way to retrieve data on a corrupted SD Card. I have a Sandisk 8GB which became corrupted after connecting the phone on an old PC.
All the content is still there I Guess (size of free space/used space is correct) but the name of the SDCard and of each folder and files are like... unreadable :
]░╣j╣Ð.%Ê
I tried HDD regenerator which regenerate ... nothing and Recuva like retriev only some images.
But i have some files very important on this card.
Please is anybody has a solution?
Well, now, tried Handy recovery. I saw my files, I can retrieve them but once retrieved, system said the file is corrupted. I used SPB Backup to create my saves.

you could run chkdsk on windows or look for some other file recovery software.
Check out wizcode software. They've got a few options (undelete, unformat, scandisk). I use scandisk all the time, and it does a good job fixing corruption. But when you have screwed up directories, it may be too late.
Try this software
DDR - Memory Card Recovery
I had a corrupted 16Gig Card and it retrieved all. I could not even see any files on the card and Windows kept telling me to reformat. It costs 50.00.
Hi,
First of all due to virus your card is corrupted and you can see your card like ]░╣j╣Ð.%Ê etc. Check out your anti virus for updated virus definition and scan your system and for your card follow the same way, scan your card , you will get your files back to original and if you could not get them back to original state then you have to use a third party data recovery software.
You can check Kernel for FAT and NTFS software for the same, it will preview you the data in scan mode and if you want then can save the desired files to specific location.
Thanks
Hello guys,
My partner changed her SD card without realising the exisiting one was "adopted" as internal storage. All of her photos of our kids are on there. She clicked "forget sd card" at the prompt without realising this makes the SD card essentially useless to recover the data.
Is there any way to recover this data? Obviously the PC does not recognise the SD card as its encrypted, so we cannot pull the photos off that way. The phone asks to format the device so I cannot pull the photos off with a usb cable either.
From what I've read, the phone generates a key for the encryption using the screen unlock pattern. We know what this is, so have a chance of unlocking the SD card as we know what the master key is. The phone is not rooted- as far as I know this changes the encryption on that end, so any attempt to root the phone to get access will not work as the keys will not match anymore. Are there tools to brute force the encryption on the SD card? I would hate to lose the data on this.
Thanks
Hello,
I have a HTC A9 phone using Android 7.0. I replaced my SD Card with a larger one for more storage. I am trying to copy my music I downloaded over the years from the old SD Card onto my Windows 10 and 8 operating system. Both systems say the SD Card needs to be formated. The I receive an error "The file system cannot be recognized". I believe it might be a GPT file system, maybe I am wrong.
My question is, how can I access the SD Card and remove my music without losing it? Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Peter Costa
Hello. Try to reinstall driver in pc. Or try paste card inserted in mobile. If you have SD card encryption contra changes in other devices, please turn off it Pc doesnt see you old card because SD card may be encrypted (visible only in your phone).
You are correct that the card is encrypted from being previously used by my HTC A9. Unfortunately, my phone had to be reset and the SD Card was replaced with a larger one. The encryption was not decrypted or my files removed. Now when I take out the new card and insert my old card, the phone only gives the option to format it. I have over 3000 full CD's on that encrypted card I can't get access to.
My brother helped me fix my phone but he did not know what was on the card. I guess no good deed goes unpunished. Just looking for a possible solution.
Maybe some type of data rescue or forensics company. Anyone have any ideas or maybe I am not understanding something. Any more advice.
Hi,! I have a galaxy note 8, this is the problem I have:
I encrypt my sd card from the mobile (sandisk extreme 32gb sd card) android system version 9,
I have a problem right now, it doesn't let me decrypt the sd card,
when I'm going to decrypt, I don't get that option, I get the option to encrypt... (as if I hadn't encrypted it before)
I do not understand what could have happened, I can enter without problems and see the files of the sd card, but when going to open a video or file of the sd card, it is not seen (because it is supposedly encrypted)
I hope someone can help me

Hi, I have been checking all the files on the sd card thoroughly, it seems that it has not got to encrypt all the files, I can listen to some loose songs, and see some loose things, but in a percentage I can agree to see 15% of the sd card 85% is encrypted, is it possible that it has encrypted badly? And is it possible that security patches, having installed it had to do with this problem of decryption? (it just happened I installed after encrypting in android security patch), hopefully someone can help me
So I have a Samsung Galaxy s10+, I recently noticed that my SD card is not recognized by my phone as encrypted. All files are there just can't open anything. I've tried restarting the phone wiping cache partition, and a few free recovery software. I can see the files and file paths I just can’t Open them. I also notice that on the sd card there is no .metaEcsFile I'm not sure if I deleted that file but I do remember deleting a .metasomething file. But it was in my recent files and I'm pretty sure it was recently created date and time wise to when I deleted it. I'm not certain if that was the cause of the problem or not as I didn't check my SD card till some time after that file had been deleted. There are 2 things I haven't done that people have said work and I'm worried they will mess up the SD card and make any data recovery impossible. One of the things is to "encrypt" the SD card which would work if there was one key per device. But I'm not sure. The other thing is to copy data to a PC, format the SD card, encrypt the empty SD card, and put the files back on the SD card.
Many people said that updating to the October patch would fix the issue I was on march of 2021 security patch when this happened and updated to October of 2022 patch. There is another update however it says you can’t downgrade so I haven’t done it Incase I need to downgrade.
Any help would be appreciated very much.
Thank you.
Never encrypt SD cards... or backup data drives.
Personally I would reformat the card and start over, unencrypted. If you don't have the data backed up you're boned to a greater or lesser extent.
Sounds like you lost the folder encryption key. They may be able to be decrypted but it will be a pain. I think each folder uses a different encryption key although I may be mistaken.
Firmware upgrades and updates can and do break Samsung's. If you insist on doing either it's imperative to have all critical data redundantly backed up first, as it always should be anyway.
get a card reader for PC, use testdisk or runtime GetDataBack for (ex)fat and try to undelete .metaEcsFile
