Any 3rd Party Lockscreen Apps Compatible with Ambient Display? - Google Pixel 2 Questions & Answers

Title says it all - I want a more customizable lockscreen, but don't want to lose the ambient display feature; especially the part where it shows notifications without waking the entire screen.
Also, most 3rd party lockscreens apps require me to disable the stock unlock method, which also disables Android Pay. Any way around this?

[Q] what 3rd party lockscreen still alows the express me panel to show?

i don't like the stock lockscreen because it is very limited as far as customization is concerned. I like a picture and a clock and notifications off to the side or where ever i want to place them. The problem is that I cant move the time/clock around so that I see the full wall paper i am using for the lockscreen or a if I do like a 3rd party lockscreen, when i activate it the lockscreen does not allow the express me panel to show on the edge when the screen is locked.
So my question is does anyone use a 3rd party locscreen that is very customizable, replaces the stock lockscreen, has pin or gesture unlocking and does not, as a redundant measure, have the stock lockscreen runing underneath it. Right now i am using Next lockscreen and it lays ontop of the stock. It has no pin or gesture to unlock it to go straight to my home screen. Therefore, i have to swipe out of it, then the stock is underneath with the pin authorization. A double move. But this is the only way my expreess me panel stays active. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Looking for a quick lock screen toggle option

Posted this in the LG section but have since rid of that phone for the S6.
I'm hoping to find a way to disable the lock screen when i'm at home or another trusted area, without the need for unnecessary GPS/Location usage as with what the 'smart lock' option demands. Also, without having to root the device.
On my S4 widgetsoid did this brilliantly right from the notification panel and it would coincide with the device locking features that were set.
For instance. Whenever i was home I'd disable by tapping the padlock icon. Then if i went out I'd just tap it again to enable it. If I forgot to enable it, the set time limit for the locking options would take control and eventually automatically lock the device on it's own.
Is there anything available like this? Widgetsoid needs system access for this feature to work now.

apps like pie control and GMD immersive mode get disabled after a prolonged lock

title^
I want to use Pie control in conjunction with GMD's immersive mode but every time I lock my phone the accessibility switch for pie control always resets from on to off and pie control as an app ceases to function.
The same happens for GMD's immersive mode, it never stays on and the process seems to be destroyed every time I leave the phone locked for a while.
More questions:
Is there any way to get the pin code on the lockscreen to be minimized and have something like a slide to get to pin?
Notifications on lockscreen while you have a pincode/fingerprint id enabled?
Are both apps whitelisted to prevent closing when you lock the phone? I don't know what GMD is.
To get notifications on the lock screen they need to be enabled in Settings and for each app. I'm using the EMUI5/Nougat beta and don't remember where exactly each is at. It's something like Settings -> Notifications and Settings -> App respectively.

How to filter notifications on Nexus 5 / Marshmallow?

My Nexus 5 has not been rooted, but if I need to root it, I will do so. I would like to be able to filter on a per-app basis all notifications. For example, I have Ultimate Rotation Control and Custom Quick Settings installed. Both place notifications on the lock screen. I would like to eliminate these notifications from the lock screen without blocking other notifications from these apps or other lock screen notifications. If possible, I would like to be able to save the filters as profiles so I can easily change them.
Can anyone recommend an app for per-app notification filtering?

Xnotifications. Or GravityBox. But for those you'll need both root and the Xposed Framework.
Before you do any of those though, doesn't your stock ROM give you the option to block certain notifications on the lockscreen?

There is no mechanism to specifically block notifications from appearing on the lock screen. It's possible to "hide sensitive content", but the notification still appears, taking up just as much space. Other than that, the only choice is to block all notifications. It's an incredibly stupid oversight for android to not provide a mechanism for per-app blocking of lock screen notifications. Another gripe is the silly requirement for a notification to be in the notification bar or solely to enable an app to listen in the background. There should be a setting to hide such notifications. (Hiding should be the default.)

I have the option to hide such notifications in the lock screen. But I'm running a custom ROM. Seeing that you're not rooted, I'm assuming your still on stock also. Which is pretty surprising seeing that you have a Nexus 5. Which is almost synonymous with root and custom ROMS.

AOD as only lockscreen

Is it possible to have AOD lockscreen be the only lockscreen? Seems like I have to unlock the AOD and then unlock the regular lockscreen. I LIKE the AOD screen - can I configure it to be the only lockscreen?
Sorry if this is a stupid question - I'm a new Samsung user.

Firstly, i assume you prefer the AOD and the added security of a lockscreen.?
Otherwise,
easiest option, would be to disable lockscreen and set option to " None ".
In this case you would only have AOD if enabled ?
However, in this case, certain banking apps,
and maybe some other apps ? , that
require a lockscreen eg Fingerprint, Pin etc
won't work (non rooted device )
Security.
I would suggest, to enable AOD and fingerprints etc and in AOD you could enable fingerprint icon
to "show always" on AOD screen.?
Only concern is maybe "burn in" issues, on screen ?
Otherwise, you can set fingerprint icon to show if you lightly tap /press screen.
See screenshots.
So al you need is on AOD screen use fingerprint to go straight to your Device main screen..?
There might be some other options some other members use..?
However, your straightforward question was... can you use AOD as " only lockscreen."
My experience.... says no...!
but who knows... if you rooted..!
Good luck.
