[SOLVED] 3g not working in India

Well, i haven't used 3g till now, and today activated it, only to find that it doesnt work.
DDKP3
BCK Kernel Beta 13
Deodexed
No other mods.
Network mode is automatic
When i select WCDMA only. The phone is not able to connect to the network.
And on automatic, the phone stays on EDGE only
Anyone insights on it?
Had read Argentine people having 3g problems long ago. Anyone from there can help?
Also had read somewhere that it might be a CSC problem. I checked using *#1234# to see if CSC is unknown, but its proper.
More info from further posts and replies -
Service provider is Vodafone India.
Confirmed that its a phone problem, by using the SIM in another phone [SE Xperia Arc], and it worked on it.
SOLUTION -
Well, I had removed the sim to try it on another phone, and well on putting it back in the phone, it worked!
I actually feel like a noob after this!
Anyway, thanks everyone for trying to help!
I'm using 3g.... its working great!!! What service do you use? Also are u sure you have subscribed to 3G services... sometimes it takes a while to get activated.

Yea, obviously it isn't a general problem faced by all.
I guess, someone who's faced such a problem only might be able to help.
Had read alot of people having such issues, but now searching isn't giving quite the required results.
If you can, try your SIM card into another smartphone which is confirmed working with 3G, just to be sure the problem comes from your phone.

You guys are missing what I am asking for. There use to be a app in the play market by [email protected] called Phone Info. Not the normal phone info that comes with the stock rom. This app use to allow you to change the mode on your phone from the CDMA to GSM if you had a the sch-i535. About 2 weeks ago they deleted it from the market, and now I need it. I just need someone with that .apk file.

The 4636 code does the same exact thing as phone info.... same exact thing. Type that code in and scroll down... Magic! But if you still aren't willing to try it or give any more information on what ROM or anything you are using, pm me your email and I'll send it to you.

You dont need any apps for that. I know you're talking about global mode (switch the radio to gsm). Thats just in settings>more settings>mobile networks>network mode
Unless I'm still not understanding what you want to do. It sounds like you want to switch to GSM mode...the above does it.

Try flashing a JB TW ROM. Hell really any other ROM. I'm using MIUI right now from Bleelas and StrumerJohn and I'm able to switch it no problem

This.
Or Just do the OTA to Jellybean! Is there a reason you didn't do it? That option was only enabled in 4.1
if you still want it...
I found out that you don't need it just go into settings/more settings/mobile networks/network mode and there you go you can change to global LTE/CDMA or GSM/UMTS
Net Monitor Worked for me instead of Phone info.
I am running CM 10.1 nightly.
The *#*#4636#*#* brought up the ability to change the mode to GSM, but if i go into settings/more settings/mobile networks/network mode I only have ' LTE/CDMA/EvDo' and 'CDMA/EvDo auto.'
I am travelling to UK, Italy and Spain next week so I am trying to ensure this will work. I will be staying with the Verizon SIM and incurring the roaming charges (business phone) and won't be using another SIM.
Thoughts?
want to change from cdma to gsm also

T-Mobile VoLTE

Did anyone ever figure out T-Mobile VoLTE on the Exynos S7?
I'd like to push this, as I'm missing the option in telephone app as well. I flashed latest stock firmware from sammobile for germany, t-mobile. This is my carrier and it definetly supports VoLTE. But I don't get the option shown in the app. Anything I could do about this?
Have you ever looked at mobile networks ?
Oh it is german csc? Did you set the CSC properly for germany? You will see the CSC setting thing in the development forum.

You need a Device that was branded by Telekom.
And you have to activate VoLTE via your Serviceportal :fingers-crossed:
Just go to kundencenter.telekom.de and choose Mobilfunk. Then go to Tarifoptionen/Telefonie and you can activate VoLTE and WiFi-Calling for free.
This won't work in USA

I wonder why they pulled it then? So you had it on 7.1 and then gone with 8.1 ? That's quite odd and I wonder if there is a Vodafone thread somewhere that explains it.
edit: quick search shows you're not the only one. Someone suggested the sim, someone else flashed back to 7.1 and then upgraded to 8.1 again and it was there. Very weird. I might try the sim route if you can get another one easily before I started flashing stuff.
I never used 7.1

I did some searching on this. Everything I found on it shows that the Pixel isn't supported for VoLTE yet. It also seems to be dependent on which country you're in.
https://www.vodafone.in/discover/super-volte-4g-hd-voice-calls
That's probably the reason, thanks
Carrier dependent isn't it?
