So I'm using running MIUI 1.23.9 and I'm using metamorph to change my wifi signal bars. I'm using a modified version of Akoe101's bars (unzipped, changed images, rezipped). After applying in metamorph and rebooting, my wifi bars are still the same... What gives? I've tried twice, I looked in /system and the files are in the res folder, but I still get the normal wifi bars.
i dont think this will work<<<
now i could be wrong. and maybe cause its miui, but in most roms you can just edit the systemui.apk to have different wifi images.
you just have to resign it and all.
make sure to always have back ups of your original. worst thing that happens is system ui crashes, when this happens you can just hold the search button down, and usually if you get into google search, it wont require the status bar. then you can search for your root explorer app, and edit the file back and reboot.
sorry im not that much help, good luck.
there is probably a tutorial online that shows you how to make a miui theme
i know there are tutorials on changing systemui.apk
MiUi is not like most Roms......i dont think you just go pulling images from theframework.res or Ui images either....
LG would be the one to ask he seems to be able to make Miui Themes and turn them into MTZ files so u just have to put in the proper folder and Bam miui does the rest.
but Ninja/MetaMorph......Dont work here.
you will only get bootloops, OR just nothing will happen.
Okay so if the mtz theme your using already has modded wifi signal bars the easiest way to exchange them if you insist on using your phone is to use root explorer download both the mtz you want to use and the one that you just want the wifi bars from. Rename the one you want to use to to zip by renaming the file form .mtz to .zip extract all go to extracted folder when you open is it will either have a bunch of files "if there files at the end of systemui and extract" or folders if there folders than just find systemui go to drawable-hdpi and check to see if the wifi bars are there if so back up to were the other mtz is the one you want the wifi bars from. repeat the process now once they are both extracted go into the drawable-hdpi folder that has the bars you want use multi-select to select all the images then go to the folder you want them in click paste and hit yes to over write. now in the folder you just out the files in re-zip go to zip extension when prompted rename it and take the zip out it should now turn into a file again move the com.systemui file or systemui folder back into the theme zip the theme go to zip when prompted rename to mtz and place this in your miui theme folder if you need more help pm me but once you do this a few time it will get easier and easiest if you use a computer...
A bunch of MILocker and MIUI Lockscreens
I downloaded some new lock screens, and whenever I apply them, just the wallpaper changes and the actual lockscreen part stays the same. Any help?
The .mtz file is just a renamed zip. Look inside, is there a file called lockscreen or is there a folder called lockscreen?
If it's a folder do this:
Unzip the whole thing to a folder called work.
Next, zip what's inside the lockscreen folder, (not the lockscreen folder, just what's inside). Call it lockscreen, if an extension gets added, rename it without the extension.
Next delete the lockscreen folder.
Next zip everything inside of the work folder. Call it Test.
Next rename Test.zip to Test.mtz and copy it to your phones miui/theme folder.
You should be good to go after you disconnect the phone from your computer and let it scan the sdcards.
Note: This can also be done on your phone without the aid of a computer.
If this doesn't help, let me know which lockscreen you were trying to get working.
I'm guessing there's no shortcut to that ^?

Click to collapse
I thought that my info was straight and to the point. When themes are written for one program, sometimes a little change needs to be made for them to work with others. As in the MiLocker doesn't read a lockscreen folder. Hence, it has to be zipped within the theme.
Heck, I'm an ex-junky who's lost more brain cells to acid then anyone that I know. If I can do/figure it out, anybody can.
Not able to see themes on Milocker
Hi,
I installed Milocker, and downloaded couple of .mtz themes... I copied the .mtz files to sdcard/MIUI/Themes folder...but when i Look at Milocker in Local section I am not able to get any themes.......
Please help....
Looks like these are for older MIUI, probably 2.3.x. Depending on what version you are running ymmv...
Have made & edit system files to get the touchwiz style theme icons to fit our oppo f1 color os launcher and resolution of the screen, they require editing files in the system so root is required.
For just icons:
1. Using root file manager, navigate to /system/media/themes/default/
2. Back up the original ICONS file to external or wherever
3. Copy the attached ICONS file and set root permissions
4. Restart
MAKE SURE IN THEME MANAGER YOUR USING THE DEFAULT THEME

For expiremtal system theming
1. In the same folder copy & replace files in the attachment, do not delete or change com.oppo.launcher file, set permissions
2. Back up original files incase you dont like it

I am not able to apply any themes downloaded{both from internal memory and sd card},when i apply a theme, the screen just flickers and same old theme is there.
what i noticed is themes from system/themes are working and applied properly and when i copy a downloaded theme and copy to system/themes,it works,so the problem is apart from themes located in System/themes,no other theme is working when applied from HWthemes location{both internal and sd card}.
Mine's rooted and bootloader unlocked.
emui 4.
System/Themes location size is less and hence i am unable to copy big sized themes,is anyone facing same issue?
I use one app called emui theme editor to edit and make my own themes
Is this a known issue,if anyone offers a fix it would be cool, thanks.
Have you changed the "ro.config.hwtheme" line in build.prop? In my case, it must be "ro.config.hwtheme=1" to work fine.
No response from OP?
Some insight first: I've decrypted my Honor (format /data > flashed force encrypt disabler > flashed Magisk) and now themes aren't working (format /data caused the issue).
I've followed this guide without effective results (now I see preset themes but apk is still unable to apply them - I guess it fails something with wallpapers since in customize I can see lock screen style, icons and text style but lock screen wp and home screen wp are blanked); I've also treid upgrading the apk to last version through AppGalley but nothing changed.
I'm not sure if I miss some libraries or stuff for the apk to work properly, so I would like to know if someone is able to extract it and everything related to it from stock Oreo rom (BLN-L22 Indian variant) and pack it in a flashable zip so that I can try to flash it and hopefully solve my issue.

Finally managed to solve this issue through Mix Explorer:
copy *.hwt file to root /system /themes (I had to create themes folder)
set *.hwt file permissions to "rw-r--r--"
reboot.
go to themes app and apply the theme discussed above
everything works for me now, even downloaded themes
