[HELP] Root Nexus S without USB

My USB doesn't connect to a computer because it is broken some how and only charges. But I was wondering if there was a way to root my Nexus S without a USB cable, my bootloader is unlocked.
I was wondering if I could do it wirelessly or idk. Any suggestions/help?
If you're on the lasted stock (4.0.4) and you don't already have a custom recovery you're screwed.
Nearly impossible without a USB connection since you will need adb to flash at least a custom recovery like CWM or TWRP. Have you verified that you have the USB driver installed? Have you tried a different USB cable?

[Q] Can't get OTG to work on NEXUS 4

[Q] Can't get OTG to wok on NEXUS 4
I've flashed stock Kitkat and Installed Ziddey's custom kernel, got an OTG cable and made a Y USB cable, doesn't work =/ the only thing that happens is the phone charges.
The OTG cable is working just fine with the dok i tried to connect, I checked both on another device, the only thing I did to the stock android is installing the kernel.
I've also downloaded an app to check if OTG is enabled on my device and the result is positive.
Seems like the only thing I could have messed up is the Y cable, but it pretty simple- connect the wires to their matching color and isolate.
Please help me figure this one out, and if someone can post this on Ziddey's Thread I'd be grateful :silly:

OTG and Parallel Charging

Hi, I've created a Y cable by connecting Red n Black of an OTG cable to a micro usb cable. However only one works at time. I.e if i connect the charger first then OTG wont work and if i connect the OTG first then the phone won't charge.. I am on stock 5.0.2 soak and unlocked & unrooted. I guess the stock kernel doesn't support.

How to flash a bootloader and modem with a broken USB port?

Hi all,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Duos (G9300FD) device with a broken USB port (so I cannot connect by Odin, ADB, etc). I managed to flash a custom ROM (https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/development/rom-galaxy-project-t3792761) by using TWRP (twrp-3.4.0-0-herolte) and an external SD card.
How to upgrade the modem and bootloader to the ones delivered together with the software in TGP_G93xx_XXS7ESL5_v2.12.0.zip? I tried all types of installations (including the custom one) and I cannot find any option that allows me to install a modem / bootloader. I saw the screenshots from the Aroma installer on the first page of this thread, but I cannot see the option to install bootloader / modem while executing the installer.
I also tried to download the bootloader and modem as tar.md5 files (BL_G930FXXS7ESL5_CL15877854_QB28006787_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5 and CP_G930FXXS7ESL5_CL1129407_QB14677789_SIGNED.tar.md5), but they are ODIN flashables. And I cannot do anything with Odin, as the USB port is broken. Or at least appears to be broken (charging works) - the device is not discovered even by "lsusb" on Linux (while another Samsung Galaxy S7 device is discovered using the same cable and even I can browse its internal storage from Linux). Can I somehow flash the bootloader and modem using TWRP (twrp-3.4.0-0-herolte) or another way?
Best regards.
Are you willing to take the back off of the phone?
I know that with the S7, you can't properly replace the USB port without removing the screen, which is close to impossible to do without destroying the screen.
However, in your case you don't need to permanently replace the USB port to achieve what you want to achieve.
All you need to do is get the back off the phone, disconnect the broken USB port from the motherboard, and temporarily connect a replacement USB port. The part doesn't need to be properly installed, just connected. Once you've done that, boot into download mode and flash the bootloader and modem.
Edit: if your USB port is accepting a charge but not connecting, it's also possible that the problem is down to a single bent pin in the connector, which can possibly be fixed very carefully with a strong, thin needle. I also wouldn't rule out a bad USB cable, even if another S7 works fine with it. Likewise with the USB ports on your PC, especially if you're using USB 3.0. Try a USB 2.0 port.

Broken USB Port - Still Can Flash Recovery?

Hi everyone,
I have an OP6 with a visibly broken USB port (you can see it's damaged), so I can't connect to the computer for adb debugging or fastboot. Luckily charging still works.
LineageOS 18 is working fine. I'm ordering in a replacement USB flex cable, but I was wondering if there was a way to flash a recovery without using a USB connection? I only have the LOS recovery installed and I would like to install TWRP or another recovery so that I can upgrade to LOS 19 while I'm waiting for the replacement port.
