rear camera not usable. everytime open camera app, cause phone to reboot - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi guys, I just experienced last few days where by when i installed other custom rom on my opo, suddenly my stock camera app cant be used. rear camera cant focus properly, and after that the phone will reboot. I tried installing other roms as well as changing back to stock rom (i was on cm-13.1.2-ZNH2KAS3P0 unrooted) but problem still persisted. the phone wont reboot as long as i dont open camera app. it happens to all the roms that i installed so far. even after i used fastboot method to restore back to cm-13.1.2-ZNH2KAS3P0 still the same. open camera app, image cant focus (blur), reboot.
now whatever rom i install, either:
1. can open but rear camera image blur, then phone reboot few seconds later
or
2. camera app cannot open, then phone reboot
or
3. camera app rear camera cannot use. only front camera can use
please help! thanks

But that can't do hardware damage, and your issue seems related to hardware only. You should get your device checked from a professional repair shop.

I never said to get the rear camera module replaced,I said get your device "checked". If the problem were of the rear camera module, you could've replaced it yourself. :/

[Q] Front camera is not working

When I was using stock rom 4.2.2 .17 I tried to open my camera. then suddenly I got Error! Camera not Available. I tried Third Party Applications but that did not help, but it turned out that the front camera, the back camera and the flash light not working at all. I did a factory reset and reflashed the stock rom and I formatted my SD card but still the issues not solved. So I flashed CM11 then the back camera and the flash light work again :good: .. but the front camera still not working at all. any ideas gays?

Maybe try flashing older rom, and then via USB just update software.?
I've got cm11 and it's not same camera .apk as Sony.
If that does not help, try to extract that camer .apk from cm11 and just put it in your phone (remove stock camera apk).
Hristmas
I will try this, but I'm thinking of changing the KERNEL to see if that's could make it work

Camera is not workong

Camera on my One Plus is not working from today. When i open the app it either force closes or says cannot connect to camera. So, I restarted the mobile, no change. Reset, no change. Instead, camera app is now missing, but shows in apps inside setting. Tried different custom roms but camera app is missing. Installed different camera apps but non worked.
I havent dropped my mobile or done anything physical to mobile.
Flashlight is also not working...
Please suggest me if any solutions... thanks

If you have bootloader unclocked and custom recovery like twrp in place, then the option with you is to reflash the "fasboot images" of the desired CM version(11S or 12) and then you can revert to the Custom ROM you want and flash full package of GApps version.
thanks for the help. but i figure out the problem.. the camera was not attached properly and i attached it and all is fine now.

Samsung Galaxy j7 front camera issue

Hi everyone, my front camera is having an issue of black screen and I've done all possible software tips to fix it but none worked. The special thing about it is that when the camera sees light it shows some blue lines on the screen and when I move my hand over it you could see the lines go away meaning somehow it's able to see the light.. I just wanted to ask for your opinions if it's a hardworking (Which it kinda looks like) and if the fact that it sees light mean anything. Maybe it just popped out slightly from its port. Thank you
As you Described above About camera issue .Are you using custom rom or factory build Firmware. If its Factory build then Your Camera is Brocken either Its custom then there will be a issue of Script .
What are you using custom / factory .
Provide me some Issue files
and screenshot
That will help me to solve your problem.

This is how it appears when the camera sees light..
You can use Camera from play store Download and install. You are using ' cm ' so its a script problem and code brake .
Ask your Developer to fix It.

Samsung J7 SM-J700h Camera problem

Hey guys,
I've been facing a problem with my j7 camera since i bought it i guess. I can't replace the phone though as i bought it from KSA and i'm currently in Egypt
whenever i use the camera the phone restarts, sometimes it says kernel panic upload and sometimes it stuck to the camera and i had to pull off the battery some other times it work when i take off the battery for awhile and i faced a strange problem due to the camera failure: when the phone restarts and i try to draw the pattern it tells me that the pattern is wrong and then i have to take off the battery and put it back sometimes the camera gives me camera failure message and whenever i open it apps start to force close automatically such as android core process , google apps, calendar , camera , contacts . i guess all the apps force close , and a few times the camera app just close without phone restarting or anything else
i tried all possible solutions and nothing seemed to be working
1-cleared camera app cache and data
2-took off the battery and put it back
3-wiped cache and dalvik cache
4-tried other camera apps
5-tried the camera debugging codes from the dialer
6-updated phone to marshmallow
7-stopped all google apps and services and other apps with the disable ability
8-and finally flashed the latest stock firmware available online
the phone ain't rooted , no cwm, and no custom kernels, other than the camera the phone is working great without a single problem
is there anything else i should try? thanks in advance

Nope didn't try any custom rom , i don't think flashing a custom rom would fix what the stock firmware didn't manage to

Both cams failure

Hi there,
I got a problem with my Nexus 5 32GB (D821). Frist the rear cam failured, now the frontcam failured.
I tried another rear cam modul, doesnt work.
I tested the cam modul with another nexus - it works. I tried the cam modul of the first one - it works.
So the cam modules are fine.
I tried a lot of apps, none of them worked. I've tried another custom rom - nothing changed.
Of course I deleted the cache and stoped the app.
Got anybody an idea whats wrong with my Nexus?
Have you wiped and flashed the latest stock ROM? If the camera still doesn't work, it may be a failed motherboard.

Hi audit13 thank you for your response..
Yes, I flashed the last stock... but... there is no google camera app installed... and I can't find it in the Playstore...
Other App like OpenCamera can't connecting to the cameras..
There's no camera app after flashing the stock Google ROM? Strange because I recall that every Google ROM I flashed via fastboot had a camera app.

I whipped again... you're right. The google cam app is already installed but the icon is missing and I can't start the cam.
Other apps doesn't work.
But after I try the spare part again the front cam is working again..
Maybe there is a bad connection on there motherboard? Try cleaning the connection with pure isopropyl alcohol?

I did... but nothing has changed... but now I can try to start the google cam app... but it ends with the old failure...
Sounds like a motherboard replacement may be required.
