Looking for logging/charting app with PC-accessible data - General Questions and Answers

Hi, I'm been using the paid version of MyLogs by Ambitico for logging various health-related information. While the app offers the ability to export data to .cvs files, it seems impossible to re-import those .cvs files if they've been modified. Plus, the charting feature is very limited.
What I'd like is an app I can use to log and chart my data, back it up to Google Drive, and import data that I've entered on my computer. There is a host of logging apps on Google Play that look like they MIGHT work. Can anyone recommend an app that meets these criteria, or perhaps another method of accomplishing this? Thanks!
I'm using LineageOS 14.1 on Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Plus.

What Cloud Storage Service do you use and How?

In this thread, I just want to discuss what online cloud storage you use and your setup. It would be awesome if you could rate, or just describe your experience using it.Recently I've been thinking of paying for one of these services. The future seems more and more integrated with the cloud. Thinking of buying extra Google Drive storage to go with full-res upload on Google+. Also does anyone use a NAS server on their Wi-Fi Network? If so also let us know about it, really interested in that too.
So...
I currently use my HTC One X with Dropbox, Instant Upload enabled. In addition I store my iPhoto library on Dropbox. Everything is synced seamlessly, however takes forever for me to download them.:silly:
SkyDrive
Personaly i use SkyDrive since i am one of the older users i got the free 25GB of storage and no other service has been able to top this yet.
I use both the desktop software and the network drive mapping trick if i am on a computer without admin permissions.
I mainly store files here handy to other people or files that i want to be able to access easily on a range of diffrent computers.
In addition i got a 1GB network share hosted by DD-WRT for easy file transfers over the network.
I'm the dev of Send It - which integrates a bunch of cloud storage solutions (not trying to plug just giving my experience of using them all).
In my testing I've found Google Drive or SkyDrive to be the best implementations from a technical standpoint. Dropbox I found to be very slow both uploading and downloading compared to those. Box is also a nice solution and if you have an LG device you get 50GB free, but I found the online UI pretty clunky.
If you're looking to use it from a Phone then I would suggest Google Drive just because if you already use Google services its so much easier. Or if not SkyDrive. My 2 cents
Google Drive, because it is most reliable and fast, plus it is integrated with google services that i use, and Google provides simple desktop and mobile app for sync (i know that almoust every storage service have it, but i like simplicity of Google one)
I'm sticking with dropbox, simply because of how fast and simple it is!

Just getting into dropbox and mediafire however I find that wetransfer is a great alternative to storing data in your gmail. Also teamviewer allows remote connections very simply and easily to store data via xfer to remote computer tablet or smartphone
Sent from Neo on a Unleashed and Unlocked SPH-D600 through the Matrix uplink.
I'm using the cloud storage of One.Com, because my website is hosted there, too. you get 5 GB at first, the first year is free. pretty fast and can be integrated into windows as an "network" drive, there is an app for Ios and android, too.
Some advice please?

Well, thanks for letting me know bout Send It. Its Really Neat, great job. Its probably making lots of people think, why didn't I think of that, it is so simple yet it works flawlessly.
However, what I want to ask is, is using a few cloud services to have this "safety-net" if any of these cloud storage services fails so that I don't lose my work a good idea? Or is it already safe enough? Its not about the lack of storage though. I just want to know that my files are safe and backed up so I don't have to worry about it. Is what I am thinking really not worth the cumbersome mess where Less is More applies? Any help is really appreciated
I am currently using Dropbox and Box. I use Dropbox the most because it is faster and allows for larger uploads. I currently have 25GB of space to use (thank you fiverr). I use my Box account for documents, some music, and smaller backup files since it is slower and has an upload files limit of 250MB. I was able to get it early when it just started and have a 50GB account with them.

I do not use cloud storage except Google Music, it really help free up my phone storage. Though I still keep songs my phone, I have all my songs streamable which is nice.

i think skydrive is great for windows phone users as all office files, pictures etc get uploaded in a touch.also some apps allow skydrive backups
I have no problems using Dropbox. However when I am using it on mobile too I don't put large bulky files in it.

I suppose it depends on how easily you can upload to multiple services at once. Cloud storage is great for portability for but offline backups are always the best as you control them. Most, if not all, of these services have versioning too which is some form of backup if you accidentally overwrite a file. That's a big reason of why DropBox became so popular was ease of use, you didn't have to do anything.
I find Dropbox best for my pc, on my phone I use SkyDrive via Send It to quickly sync specific files, all of them have something different to offer. Personally I would say try a few and see which best fits your needs and then stick with one

Google drive and skydrive are best ever
...
Also you should know the popularity of dropbox ...
I am glad I found this thread as I was getting ready to ask the same question as the OP.
I have been using Ubuntu One which will give you 5.5 GBs of space if you use this referral link (5 GBs if you go directly to their website without using the referral link):
http://bit.ly/VOm9O7
I like it a lot:
Simple to use Android and PC interface.
Good layout on webpage.
Automatically syncs from phone.
Decent amount of space if you have a referral link.
But there are two things I don't like. First, it will not let you pick what additional folders you want to have automatically sync'd. Second, it doesn't appear to allow uploading videos saved in the Android camera folders (it might if selecting each video manually but that ties into the first issue).
So that brings me to my question. Does anyone know of a service that allows users to pick and choose what folders they want to have automatically synced to the cloud? If I could just do pictures and videos; that would be awesome! Additionally, SMS and MMS messages and maybe contacts would be nice as well.
Skydrive since almost the day it came out. Awesome integration with Windows 8, Surface and WP8.
Box and google drive. Box is the best cloud service and astro file manager helps me managing my files. Though there is already a box app in the play store but astro file manager is much easy to manage the files.

PogoPlug
PogoPlug, because the oly cost is for the device, and the only limit to your storage space is the size of the HDD(s) you connect to it!
Well, thanks for all the advice, but what i really am interested in is a secure way to backup my photos. I believe that cloud storage is a lot safer somehow, but has no privacy, not that I care much. A downside might be cost, but don't have to worry about that for another year. 25GB of Dropbox from HTC . I think the more backups you have, the better? If I am just going to keep local copies, what are some good Photo Library apps for a Mac? Mac and Android Fan, no, not an alien. Or is there a way to set up a private wireless drive and upload straight from the phone.

Best Uses for Cloud Storage Apps

Hey everyone!
I was looking at a few storage apps like Drive, Box, Dropbox, and Ubuntu One and was trying to think of how to better make use them. Anyone any neat ways they are using the cloud that they would to share? Best I've come up with is using it to access files that I use often that may get erased from my device with flashing new roms.
Looking forward to using it in more creative ways so thanks for any input you guys have to offer!
I like to store apps that you can't download from the play store or those complimentary paid versions like BetterBatteryStats and SetCPU. That way I can easily download them or share them with a friend. I store my wallpapers so I can share them between all devices (I change it a lot.) My most useful one is for BitTorrent. If you're out and about and someone says "Hey, have you seen this movie?" I always forget to download it when I get home but if you set up a folder on one of your cloud services that syncs to your PC you can set your BitTorrent client to pull new torrents from that folder. Basically, you download the torrent file and then upload it to the cloud. If you keep your computer on then it'll be ready to watch when you get home.

I use foldersync to backup my photos and documents (among other things) to my cloud services like Sugarsync, gdrive and Dropbox. All my app backups from titanium go to Dropbox .
Cloud storage is extremely useful.
I guess I hoped there would be some more efficient and effective way to use the space... Something other than just saving stuff there... So far I have come up with scanning receipts and saving them to my Google drive account for later use if needed. It would be nice if other apps could access the information easily as well. Basically making it an extension of the tablet or phone's storage.

Depends what you want. I use evernote for receipts because of its amazing search and tagging options. Documents I share with work are in Sugarsync. Goggle drive is awesome for larger documents.
Unfortunately, I haven't found one service that does it all, so I split between different services depending on what needs to be done.

I was super excited to find this application. It solves my biggest grievances with Google Authenticator, and does it in a way that is largely invisible to the user (until it matters!). -techThreads

It's mind-blowing that Google's own Authenticator on its own Android platform lacks the feature to re-order the account entries, while the iOS version does support this.
And also mind-blowing that it lacks PIN control, any option to sync/ backup, and several of the other highly desirable (even necessary!) features which Mufri has built-in to the Authenticator Plus app.
I've also been pleased by Mufri's responsiveness and willingness to work to make the app have only the needed permissions. We've exchanged several detailed technical and philosophical messages; it's very nice to see yet another developer devoted to our community.
I can't make any claims about the security of the app as I'm not a developer (well, haven't been since twenty years ago) and I lack the tools, but I hope that others with more skills than I have will analyze the app and can confirm the app's health so the app can be established as a much better reference than Google's own minimally featured Authenticator, and that we can get Mufri lots of users!
Thanks Mufri,
-Jay

This APK is version 1.3
(Latest is 2.9.x, a lot of development has been done in this year as it seems!)
I downloaded the APK to try it out.
It first works when it is installed and I was able to import my accounts from the original Google Authenticator.
Then I closed the app.
I can open it again but the keyboard pops up saying "sign in" (where usually the "enter" button is).
Even when I enter the correct passphrase it shows only an empty app without the codes.
I can also install and add the import plugin but then I don't see the codes anymore.
Used on: CM 10.2 and CM11.
Very strange...
i just installed the app and i have some issues. first of all i would like the option to not choose a passphrase to open the app, but well thats not a big problem. after i choose a passphrase and set the app up and want to start it again it just shows me the header with the logo of the app but everything else is blank, there is no password field to type in the selected password and even if i type it in, without anything showing, it doesnt open the app. i can just use it once and thats it
also import from google authenticator doesnt work. it tells me no root or script not in xbin. well its all there. the problem is probably root, because the dialogue to grant root never shows up. I try to get it now manually granted but still that doesnt help if i can start the app only once :/
I am on a galaxy note 3. hope someone can help me...
Yes, attached APK was outdated, I have removed it now.

Compatibility with Pebble Smartwaches
Hi !
Has anyone tried to use Authenticator Plus with a Pebble smartwach, through Android Wear integration ?
I'll get an Pebble Time in May and hope it will work with it, that's why I'm asking for a clue
Interesting, I never heard of anyone tried it, let me know how it goes .
Store site order in cloud sync?
I use Authenticator Plus with cloud sync via Google Drive.
It seems that the order in which I have the accounts in Authenticator Plus does NOT get sync'd to the cloud (or, if it does get sync'd up, then when the sites are imported back down from the cloud, the order is not maintained).
Can the author comment please?
thanks,
Jay

Pebble don't get it working through Android Wear, I think a layer is missing, maybe like an "emulator" (not the way Google implemented it) that can send other things but notifications to Pebble (it's the only thing supported for now).
Anyway, IMO for Authenticator Plus it will requires an Pebble OS app and a modification to makes it work as a companion.
Hi,
I would like to add a Battle.net account but the app fails to connect to battle.net server, is this something you can fix ?
edit : and do you think you can add Steam support in future release ?
Same problem with the battle.net server. No matter if I try it at home or at work or via LTE.
Since the Blizzard battle.net Authenticator works and I can access the battle.net site without any problem I suspect a problem with the Authenticator+ App. Syncing time with battle.net is also not working btw (in the settings)
Is the app working in 6.0? If Yes, could u send me a trial?

Using MEGA? Check the app I've been working on

Hello everyone,
First I apologize if this is not a proper thread for this post
I've been working on an app that brings MEGA cloud access to android devices. Initial version of the app I've created was one of the first apps on the google play store but, working on it alone and having in mind bad API documentation they provided it took me a while to make some progress.
Currently, there are plenty of apps that one can use to upload/download content to and from the cloud using your android device so I focused on automated synchronization.
Basically, app I've created lets you choose any directory on your cloud account and sync it to your phone, also you can sync any folder from your device to the cloud. There are options to choose weather you want to resync deleted files or files that changed in size and edit date.
Sadly I am not allowed to post links, in order to check the app out search for "MEGA Storage Manager" on google play.
If you have a suggestion, or find a bug, feel free to post it here or email me at [email protected].

[APP] Recent wifi password Viewer & Backup (ROOT)

I made this app for my own needs a few years ago. Then I decided to publish this app so others can use 'cause it might be convenient in some situations
This app will forever be free with no ads. I hope people would tell me how to improve this.
* ROOT access is REQUIRED*
This app use Root permission to access the connected wifi list from your system to list them out for you in case you forgot a wifi password and/or you want to share with others.
It also allow you to save that list to you local storage/SDCard or sync it to cloud storage.
Cloud backup use private App Folder on *your own* Google Drive account to save data. Even you cannot browse it by yourself (you still can delete it). Currently, this app only support restoring from Cloud.
In summary:
- View connected wifi lists with password
- Save Wifi list to storage/SDCard
- Sync/Backup Wifi list to Cloud
- Restore wifi list from Cloud
- Copy wifi password to clipboard by long-press wifi item on the list.
Download link
Cheers!

Please update to oreo
I'm trying to use it on 8.1 and what's strange is that it uploads to the cloud just fine from my old phone, and the new phone can see (in the app) the passwords on the cloud, but when I choose "sync", the new phone's local wifi list does not change. Is there some specific instructions I need to follow? I've given it root access and selected "sync" on my new phone from all three locations (all/cloud/local).
