Hi all,
After the last update Tizen v. 3.0.0.1 I started to receive two annoying and useless notifications when the watch disconnects from the phone's bluetooth.
Anyone can guide me how to get read of those? maybe uninstall something? Maybe some setting?
I tried Settings > Connections > Alerts (Get Bluetooth disconnection alerts) to set it to off and still I have the same messages.
I attach screenshots.
I appreciate your help.
Thanks
Dani

Hi, I just realised that the screenshots are not visible.
My watch is Samsung Gear S3 Model SM.R770 running Tizen 3.0.0.1
Adding inline images it seems doesn't work SO I add links to the pictures below.
But it seems I cannot add either links to pics so you need to add https before the ibb domain Sorry for that @admin but I have no other way to show the issue.
ibb.co/e0HDsG
ibb.co/gMeyRb
Thank you in advance for the help!
hello, Anyone can pls try to help me? Thanks
@matotaupas
Ok... Both messages states that you are not connected to the the Gear APP.
The "alerts" that you've turned off is regarding when watch is connected and than disconnects from gear app(phone) as reminder that you are "missing" something.
Can you confirm your watch is connected to the your phone? (Connections -> Bluetooth)
If not, can you go and check from your watch: About Gear -> Device Information and validate that you have an address under "Bluetooth address".
Rgds
Hi @wisefreakz
Thank you very much for the fast response!
Yes I know what causes those messages. The fact is that I go beyond the reach of the bluetooth connection and the watch disconnects from the phone. After this disconnection from the phone, the watch displays those messages.
But the real issue is that first of all, before the OS update, those messages were not displaying but instead only the small icon on top of the watch face stating that the watch is operating standalone, which was totally fine. But now, each time the watch disconnects I need to take an action of cleaning up those messages which are completely useless. One asks me to connect back to BT (before it was doing it automatically which would be the expected behaviour) and the other one is saying that I need connection to use Samsung services which I didn't requested as I did no action on the watch. It would have make sense if I was trying to access an app on the watch which needed Samsung account and then I got this message, but the fact is I take no action and I get this warning.
So, to conclude, do you have any idea if I can just not get anymore the confirmation to connect by BT (so the watch does this automatically without asking) and if I can uninstall something or do some setting in the gear app so I don't get those and it operates by itself without asking me something that always is useless?
Thanks you!
@matotaupa
I guess this bluetooth message is really not meant to be there. My watch is already on Tizen 3 and when it disconnects from the phone, only thing I get is the "icon" stating the stand alone mode.
I have a hint that might help...
1) Turn off your watch
2) Go to: https://findmymobile.samsung.com/
3) Login with same account you use in the Gear APP
4) Hopefully you will receive a message that the terms and whatever has been updated and you must accept it.
5) Once you've done that, reboot you watch and have it connected to the gear app
6) Once connected, try to disable bluetooth from your phone and see what happens in the watch.
Let us know if that helps.
@matotaupa Let me know if it did helped with your problem.

Looks like you are the only one suffering from this right. The indicated procedure has helped at least 12 persons that I know....
Are you now able to download apps/watchfaces directly from your watch? If not, you still haven't completed the process as described... but if you can, than its out of my knowledge

That's great
Hi,
I was never downloading watch faces directly from the watch.
I tried to do that and it told me that I need to login to my samsung account. So I pressed OK and somehow it connected or something. Then I was able to download watch faces.
So now I tried again and I got no more annoying messages. Most probably that was the part I missed
"5) Once you've done that, reboot you watch and have it connected to the gear app"
I understood that I need to connect to the phone's gear app not that I need to login to the app store on the watch.
Ok, so again, many thanks I hope that I don't bother you again with this.
Have a nice day

14/12: A few of us encounter the SMS sending problem again after applying the fix. So it looks like the latest messaging client found in ROM 1.61 doesn't fix the problem. Of course, I'm assuming that the problem lies on the messaging solution, rather than radio, as explained below.
Hi all,
It's probably a well known fact that HTC messaging has some serious bug, specifically on the reliability on SMS sending.
I've done a quick test, and noted that when the problem happens, usually the network is weak and the phone is undergoing through some network switching (e.g. from 3G to G in order to get better reception). This is consistent with the findings with some folks here.
However, I don't think this is the cause, I say it's a symptom, because network switching is common in any phone, and any reliable messaging app should be able to handle such scenario. On further testing, I noticed that when the problem happens, the messaging service that HTC developed to take over the entire messaging send/receive from Windows Mobile, would crash and won't be able to restart.
So this leads to my belief that the bug fix needs to be at the messaging service and/or the messaging client, rather than the radio.
Of course I could be wrong, but when I hear that HTC has released a new ROM 1.61 with new messaging client, I decided to give the new files a try.
Thanks to Steve0007, who had kindly forwarded me the files very quickly when I dropped him a request for the new files. So please try out this CAB I've put together, and let me know if you still get message stuck over at your end.
I'm crossing my finger!

not so fast dude. We need to monitor for awhile to see if the new version developed by HTC is indeed solving the problem. The best way to test is to go underground or into lift and see if you can send messages or not
checking it right now

Maybe you should try this:
1. Turn the HTC Sence off
2. Reset
3. Install patch
4. reset
5. Turn the HTC Sense on.

see if you can install after applying the tweak "Policies/Allow unsigned apps" using BSB tweaks app.
Btw, I made a test just now. I changed my SMS preferred setting to 3G (not via Advanced network, but instead HKLM\Software\Jataya\Messaging\SMSPreferredNetwork) and put my phone in a metallic enclosure so that I've no network totally. Then I send out a message to myself and I don't get any delivery report nor the message itself.
After about 10s, I brought the phone out, and then in less than few sec, I got both delivery report and message. So it looks like it's working well, but all these count for nothing if somebody reports otherwise. So your feedback after installing the cab is very much appreciated here.
Just installed on 2 decides, will test for a few days and report my feedback
fix, no functional
Not directly related to this problem but always something regarding HTC Messaging, I've sent an email to HTC asking to fix the long waiting time it takes to load all of your SMS within a contact. It could possibly be one of the following fixes:
- stop updating the list, add all the sms to the control, then re-enable the control: should work reasonably well, since opening a menu while htc messaging is loading sms forces this behavior - Instead of waiting for a minute while loading 300+ sms, you only need to wait 1-2 sec. - Nice improvement, still not solves the problem
- just load 10-20 messages, then put a button to show more.. problem solved.
They replied me telling they've sent the request to the "relevant department".
Not working for me, sorry
oops wrong thread, sorry.

no need, just stick to whatever setting you have. The whole idea is supposed to work regardless of whether you have chosen GSM or WCDMA as your preferred network. Hope it works

can you explain why it doesn't work? you still have stucked messages, or you can't install the fix?
Its working now, got replies from all people verifying receipt of SMS, but anything else i could to "strain" the phone into failing to send an SMS?
Okay,
I installed the cab no probs, then reset my sms options back to GSM prefered [default], soft reset, sent a message, that didnt arrive.
Turned the options back to GSM only, removed the cab, soft reset, sent a message and it was sent along with the one I tried to send after first installing the cab.
Hope this helps..
try killing jblend daemon and the corresponding sms inbox handler in the reg
at least i finally know i am not the only one suffering from this problem.... almost thought i got a faulty set. thanks for the patch bro!
after sending 7 sms, just tried sending an sms now ( 3 hours after initial sucess) and its stuck in my outbox...again!!!
success might juts have been luck, i havent send an sms in 1 week, and did 3 soft resets, 1 after installl bsb tweaks, one after installed SMS fix cab, and 1 more for good luck.
Does anybody else have a problem with their caller ID? I am on t-mobile in the US and sometimes the phone number shows up, sometimes it says unknown. This happens randomly even the same person. One time, their caller id would show up, the other time it'd say unknown.
I'm on Tmobile USA as well and don't have any of these problems.
Maybe try clearing the contacts and sync them again?

I never had caller ID... Though I remember it was one of the "bonus apps" the icon of which was shaped like a gift box.
Given my repulsion to bloatware, I deleted it. Finally, frustrated with the whole lack of caller ID, I finally dropped $6.99 on White Pages Pro (or something like that). Now my caller ID is great and it adds the info if I want to make a new contact. Very nice.
Sent from my HTC One-S (rooted), stock ROM
Got a new one at costco...Same problem..wtf. Can it be the sim card or something? Any ideas?
So this is what I mean about the unknown caller ID problem. Unknown callers with a phone number is not the problem. The problem is unknown callers calling me with no phone number. And these numbers are not blocked. I asked my friend to help me test it for me.

I've been having the same problem. I took it back to the t-mobile store and they gave me a new one but after a few days the problem came back. I'm not sure if it's the phone or the sim card.

Yeah I thought I was the only one having this problem. I'm from around the LA area and no I don't have that app.
I also have the same problem. I am in Foxboro, MA. I called Tmobile and they are telling me it's a network issue. Supposed to be resolved in 72 hours. I'll post back with my results.
I seem to be running into the similar issue. I once resolved it by installing the Rooted nandroid available here, it had gone away so I re installed a custom rom but then after a couple weeks it came back? I read thru the forums that's it may have to do with facebook contacts? I'm trying out the new energy rom now, hopefully it clears the problem

I tried factory resetting my phone about a week ago but after a few days the problem came back. I'm hoping T-Mobile resolves this problem soon.
Try Factory Reset and also try clearing Cache/Data in the Phone Application Settings if applicable. Obviously, reboot afterwards.
I'm going to assume you are not rooted.
I did a factory reset as well, but still had the problem. I'll try to clear my Phone data/cache first and also try another factory reset today.
I spent an hour on the phone with Tmobile advanced tech support. They think it's a network issue, but haven't figured out exactly what it is yet.
Another thing, when I have Wifi calling on, my caller id works just fine. Really weird.
I did another factory reset today, didn't update any of the apps, basically didn't touch anything and caller id is still not working.
I am also on the latest OTA update. I wonder if that has anything to do with it?
I love this phone, just wish I could tell who is calling me.
So I've discovered a little more from testing this morning. Would be interested to hear if anyone else sees the same thing.
Reboot the phone with Wifi off -> Caller ID works -> Turn on Wifi and Wifi calling ->
Caller ID broken.
Reboot the phone with Wifi off -> Caller ID works -> Turn on Wifi with no Wifi calling -> Caller ID still works.
Looks like the issue might be related to Wifi calling somehow. I'll update Tmobile tech support and hopefully they have some kind of answer.
Ok so after hours of reseting the phone, the settings, wipping everything, re installing the Rom all this over and over, doing nandroid etc... I finally got it to show me the caller ID again.
It was weird because for a while I could get it to show it to me after a new install but then as soon as I'd reboot, It go back to the same thing.
Still confused as far as what is making it hide the caller info. I doubt it's Tmobile network because then I would imagine at least some other phones would have similar issues. then again I don't know because when it started again for me yesterday I was just driving on the road, no settings had been changed (although I had just left my house wifi)
its very confusing
well i am having the same issue. and i have Samsung Galaxy S2. my caller id shows as UNKNOWN

Thanks for sharing. I'm in the bay area in CA. I don't want to jinx it, but I haven't had this problem occur in 48 hours. But I have noticed that it occurs more when new numbers call you for the first time so I don't really know because I haven't had anybody new call me.
Nearly on every custom rom I have used, whatsapp is not working perfectly. My sent messages and messages I received are delivered very late sometimes. I do not use wifi sleep setting when screen is off, wifi is always on. And if there is no wifi, mobile data is on. When I reply a message, then the conversation is ok and occurs real-time. But if I don't touch the phone for a long time, incoming messages are not received instantly. And if I start a conversation my sent messages are not delivered for a long time (again sometimes).
Has anyone had this issue? And if it is common, can you propose a solution?
Don't have any issues on my phone.
Are messages still delayed when you use a different wifi connection? Is background data enabled? Have you tried clearing data and reinstalling?

Generally I suffer this issue on my home wifi. But sometimes it occurs outside with mobile data on. What settings should I check in my home wifi settings?
I flash a new rom with a clean install once in every two days. So I install whatsapp again when I flash a rom. I also tried to clear data, uninstalling and reinstalling. But it is no use. I have this issue for 5-6 months.
So the issue is with your home network? Is your wifi set to always stay on during sleep?
If there is such an option in your router, try increasing the bandwidth prioritization of your device. Also change your security to WPA if you're using WPA2 since it uses more advanced encryption algorithms and may be causing network problems with your device.
Bear in mind that the issue may also be with your ISP.

Wifi is always on during sleep.
I also checked the modem security, it uses WPA.
It is so annoying but I guess it is not fixable easily. Even whatsapp shows a warning when installing that says `on custom ROMs you can experience problems.` So I do not have a big hope but someone can come with a solution, so I will wait till then.
Whatsapp works perfectly fine on all of the custom roms that I've tried. Maybe your ISP is throttling Whatsapp traffic for some reason, perhaps you should call them and enquire.
Honestly though I still think there are too many variables. Does browsing on your phone work fast? Have you tried connecting another device with Whatsapp to your wifi?
I took part in an identical thread to this in the General forum a while back. I'm not even sure if the OP actually resolved his issue, but we became fairly confident that it was either his ISP or his network hardware causing the delay.

I know there are too many variables and I do not have a clue. I do not think it is related with custom roms. I specified it because I didn't use the stock rom too much and there is a warning when installing whatsapp with custom roms. But now I don't think that's the source of the problem. It is because of the wifi network or because of my ISP. My friends with Android devices also have this issue when they are connected to my home wifi.
Browsing on my phone is OK.

This is exactly the same problem I have. Thank you for the thread. I think it is a rare occasion and related with wifi settings or ISP. I will try to check router settings if there is any unusual setting and will report if any.

You dont deserve respect if you ask for it. Earn it, if you dont get tough luck.

The 'THANKS' button is there to stop people filling up threads with useless posts and to stop you getting modified of a new post in a thread unnecessarily.
Unfortunately newbies don't seem to realise its existence and a subtle reminder often helps. Given your stats you haven't taken much part in the XDA community, but how many times have you been notified of a new post in an interesting development thread and when you went to read it you found it was just someone who had posted 'Thank You' instead of pressing the button?
If you've got a problem with me, next time bring it to me on PM where it should be :banghead:
P.S.
'You're' not 'Your'
'an idiot'
'I' not 'i'
'don't' not 'dont' - twice
i think the problems here is the 'deep sleep', when the phone is in the deep sleep, most of the application not running(just guessing)

I find it interesting that the OP had absolutely no problem with me posting what I did, and yet you felt the need to come out of the Sensation forum just to stick your oar in
The 'THANKS' button is there to stop people filling up threads with useless posts and to stop you getting modified of a new post in a thread unnecessarily.

Hey. What's going on here? Relax lads.
I use Whatsapp on custom Rom Pacman v19.3. Most of the time, it is functioning normally, but sometimes, I get a delay also. I didn't figure out yet when this happens.
I solved the problem
zihinsiz said:
Nearly on every custom rom I have used, whatsapp is not working perfectly. My sent messages and messages I received are delivered very late sometimes. I do not use wifi sleep setting when screen is off, wifi is always on. And if there is no wifi, mobile data is on. When I reply a message, then the conversation is ok and occurs real-time. But if I don't touch the phone for a long time, incoming messages are not received instantly. And if I start a conversation my sent messages are not delivered for a long time (again sometimes).
Has anyone had this issue? And if it is common, can you propose a solution?

Hey dear, after reading the thread, I decided to reverse the setting from Always to Never !!!
Perfect, whatsapp is now very fast or immediate !!!
Try your luck, change settings to Never and if you succeed, plz reply.
The app is now live on Google Play.
Thanks to all my beta testers for helping me iron out the wrinkles. I will still post beta versions here when I have new features that need testing.

Tired of entering your password all the time? SkipLock lets you skip past the lock screen when you're connected to a designated wifi or bluetooth device. When you're at home or in your car, your phone is safe and you don't need to be typing in that damn password all the time. When you're connected to your wifi network, or any bluetooth device, you can go straight to the home screen when you press the power button. You can even have it keep the phone unlocked while you're connected to a bluetooth keychain or headset. As soon as the phone gets out of range, it locks.
This is a public beta. SkipLock is a complete rewrite of Unlock With WiFi. Why rewrite it? This blog post explains the reasoning behind it.
Here are the new features in SkipLock:
Pattern and face unlock supported on rooted devices
Completely redesigned Android 4+ user interface
No background service = less memory usage and more reliable
No status bar icon required (but it’s still an option). Tray-only notifications also an option.
If you have notifications enabled, you can now tap the notification to instantly lock the device
Even more cool stuff coming later
Many of the existing features from Unlock With WiFi will also be in the new app. Some of them are:
Automatically turn off wifi when leaving home
Automatically turn on/off bluetooth
Automatically turn on/off sync
WidgetLocker integration
Lock delay has been removed because Android 4+ supports it natively now
If you have a bug to report, press Bug Report in the app's menu. This will send me some diagnostic information that will help me figure out what's wrong. This is the quickest way to get a response. You may post more general questions in this thread, and I will try to answer them, but bug reports sent directly to me take precedence.
SkipLock requires Android 4.0 or above. Root is required for patterns and face unlock. Only PINs and passwords are supported without root.
SkipLock FAQ
The FAQ is now being maintained on my website.

Crashes
This seems like a really great and useful app. However I can't seem to access it. Every time I click on the app it just crashes.

Seems to work fine on my Nexus 5.
Only tested the WiFi setting though, not bluetooth.
Are there any plans to unlock with NFC too? I should be getting an NFC ring soon and I'd love for it to work with that, so when I grab my phone there's no PIN/password but when others get hold of it it requires a PIN/password.

i would love to do that too, but unfortunately, the NFC reader is not active unless the phone is already awake and unlocked. that goes for most phones anyway. obviously, there are some exceptions, like the moto x.

True, but there are plenty of custom ROMs and even xposed modules which allow you to enable NFC with the screen off or with the screen on and the phone locked.
Still, if it's not something you're willing to add, there's nothing I can do to change that. The app works great as it is.

hmm, that's interesting. maybe i'll look into it when i get a chance.
Installs now.
Will give it a whack when i get home
It works!
My phone was locked and by adding my WiFi network as an exception, the phone was automatically unlocked.
I'll test it out tomorrow when I leave my house and when I get back to see if it re-locks when i leave my wifi network/unlocks itself upon reaching my wifi network.

great! thanks for the feedback. try to test it with bluetooth too, if you can.
Also work on my SGS3 Omega v51 4.3

Is this time limited?
I don't know how you did it, but this works on stock rooted HTC One with pattern lock! Your previous app and some other apps do not, but this one works perfectly! When does this beta expire?
Take my money!
Side note: does not work on nexus7 with CM 10.2 (4.3) pattern always shows even when skiplock notification says its unlocked. Going to submit report from app
Thanks for this! I have missed this function since using HTC One. And will use this on my Nexus 5 when it arrives too

Yes, the S3 supports nfc from the lockscreen on some ROMs
My Feedback
Thank you for this great little software. You can also achieve this with software like lama or tasker. But I dont need such big toolkits. So your app fits perfectly on my device.
Here are my thoughts:
* starting an app when a network is in reach - great for car-users to start their favorite mp3-player etc.
* simple geofencing to re enable wifi/bluetooth
* turning on/off different system profiles (so you dont have to take care of all settings...it´s all build into the os)
Keep on coding!
working great on note 2 4.3 keep it up bro!
thanks for the feedback, guys. good to hear it's working! for those who asked, yes it's time limited. the current version will expire at the end of november, but if i feel that more testing is necessary, i will update the app and extend the time limit.
Hi.
Today I ported all my things from P5 to P7Pro and I noticed a very annoying thing.
In every call, after a minute or two there beggins cracking/squealing, like it's a bad connection.
I updated the phone to the latest Android version (screen in att). I tried restarting, with another SIM but the same ...
No problem at all on my P5.
Anyone else facing that?
I'm really disappointed that this disables the basic use of the phone and I don't even know how to start reporting a bug considering I'm using the phone in an unsupported country. :/

Strange one, not something I have nor read anyone else having. I'd suggest you have a faulty handset if you have tried another sim from another sim in it (presumably from another provider).

Do you have clear calling enabled? Not sure if it would make a difference, but I did see one or two people report that their connection was worse with it, although for most I think it's better. Not sure they reported crackling/squealing though.

Hello I have the same issue with Italian PosteMobile.
Where are you from?
It starts after 5 or 6 minutes in call.
Same phone but with other operator I have no problems.
Is your operator a virtual one? Full MNVO?

Hi!
Not so great for you and me, but great that I'm not the only one.
I'm from Slovenia.
Hm, strange, so something with operators u think? I'm on Telekom Slovenia, so biggest national operator ...
Idk but I know someone that works for my operator and they will try to understand what's the problem, in theory...
I'm also thinking opting in Beta Android to check if a newer rom fixes the issue.
If I have news I'll post here!

Hm, today I had zero issues up to now.
Yesterday in the evening I took out my primary SIM card, cleaned SIM slot with air pressure ...
I keep fingers crossed!
Same issue here but I only get it after exactly 20 minutes of calling. I'm using kpn Netherlands with a esim . I migrated from pixel 5 also with esim on same provider. I must note that after I disabled 2g calling from the settings that not all calls have the issue anymore.
Same problem here in Portugal after 15m in a call.
I must say that now after testing a couple of days with the 2g slider turned off, 90+% of the calls go without big audio issues. Only sometimes 1-5 seconds long distortion of some kind is left
Hello, problem still present after many updates and now on last beta.
Probably most of you solved it by switching to another operator, but I can't.
I opened an issue in Android Bug Report and discovered through logcat that there are some duplicate received frames.
If you suffer from the same issue I kindly ask you to post in this official issue link to let Android developers know that I'm not the only one with this problem!
Google Issue Tracker
issuetracker.google.com
Take a look to my answer number 6 to see the logcat :
On a Windows PowerShell:
adb logcat | find "F1:ERR"
Google Issue Tracker
issuetracker.google.com
If the problem remains unsolved I will sell my Pixel 7Pro, I can't work with this issue (and cannot change operator as it is the professional on that gave me my employer).
Thank you!
Same problem here
Hello, as of today nothing changed, just updated on beta 13 (T2B2.221216.008)
Annoying...
Same problem here!
After about 8 minutes of calling with Postemobile operator (Italy), the call starts croaking! More and more often I receive text messages from people who have looked for me, despite the fact that the phone was always under excellent signal. Postemobile still has VoLTE not enabled on Pixel7.
